Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 801: Chapter 604: Exchanging the Soul-attaching Pill Elixir Recipe

Yang Mingzhao continued, “Then let’s first determine our most basic goal, which is to distribute land to the people.”

Chen Buyu, Chen Buren, and the others looked at each other in dismay, suddenly feeling that they were quite unprofessional.

They wanted to rebel, but their ideas were merely to kill corrupt officials and distribute grain to the people.

The matters that Yang Mingzhao and others discussed had never even crossed their minds before.

Chen Buyu’s eyes gleamed brightly; he felt that Yang Mingzhao was a truly professional rebel.

Yes, very professional!

Yang Mingzhao, unaware of Chen Buyu’s thoughts, continued, “Next, let’s discuss which county we should start with!”

“Not starting with Dachang County?” Chen Buyu asked.

Yang Mingzhao shook his head, “We can’t start with Dachang County. Dachang County is located in the northeastern corner of Bashu, a necessary passage for Yun Gui to enter Bashu. Once we occupy Dachang County, it would be like blocking the gate to Bashu, which would certainly be seen as a thorn in the court’s side!”

“We are just starting out, so it is best to begin with a place that isn’t very important.”

Deng Xing spoke up, “Taiping County!”

“Why Taiping County?” Yang Mingzhao asked.

Deng Xing said, “Taiping County is located in the northwest corner of Kui Prefecture, backed by the mountains of Wanshan Ridge. Although the area is mountainous, there are many valleys within suitable for cultivation.”

“Taiping County has several dangerous terrains, all easy to defend and difficult to attack, which is advantageous for us to ward off the court’s attacks!”

“From Taiping County, you can head north to Longnan; though the mountain roads are tough, they are still passable. Occupying Taiping County allows us to move south into Bashu, or north to Longnan.”

“Within Taiping County, the only Martial Arts Force is the Yan family, a very small Martial Arts Family, with the highest cultivation only the Postnatal Sixth Layer, easily suppressed.”

“Most importantly, Taiping County has salt wells! Although not many, unlike Rongde County, it can still provide us a financial resource!”

Yang Mingzhao’s eyes brightened, “How did you know this?”

Deng Xing smiled, “I had a few people ask Chen Buyu to find out.”

Chen Buyu nodded vigorously, these were indeed the things he inquired about, though he hadn’t expected Deng Xing to consider occupying Taiping County.

Yang Mingzhao laughed heartily, “It seems like having you as my guards really undervalues you, you should become officials in the court.”

He was very pleased with Deng Xing and Li Dagui, acknowledging their insights as even more detailed and organized than his own considerations.

Deng Xing chuckled, “We have merely learned by being around the Family Head. Compared to the Family Head, we are far inferior!”

“But you are much better than those corrupt officials!” Chen Buyu sincerely praised.

Yang Mingzhao said, “Very well, then let’s attack Taiping County first. However, before that, we need to make some preparations; the training of the soldiers must continue, and we need more resources such as iron ingots and weapons!”

“We must stockpile some resources before initiating our action, to avoid being unable to purchase these resources after occupying Taiping County!”

“Lu Bo, first go to Taiping County to set up some warehouses, then procure a variety of resources from Kui Prefecture.”

“Purchasing weapons is best; if weapons cannot be bought, then buy some iron ingots and we can forge them into weapons ourselves later!”

Lu Bo responded, “Yes!”

“That’s settled then, let’s prepare for one month, and in one month, we will capture Taiping County!” Yang Mingzhao said spiritedly.

The meeting adjourned, with everyone getting busy.

The young and robust men were reorganized and continued training. Although most of them were farmers, after more than two months of training, they could at least understand military orders and have some military literacy, albeit with poor combat ability.

Deng Xing and Han Lin were in charge of training the young men, while Ma Yan gathered everyone in the valley who could read and calculate, finding twenty-one people with such skills, including an old Scholar in his fifties and an eleven-year-old child, with the rest being of mixed proficiency.

The highest educated in the valley was this old Scholar in his fifties.

With no other choice, Ma Yan had to make do, dividing these people into six units per Yang Mingzhao’s instructions, preparing household registers for the valley’s inhabitants, allocating land, drafting the Yellow Book and Fish Scale Book, mainly to hone everyone’s skills. This way, once they conquer the county, these people won’t be completely unprepared.

Meanwhile, Ma Yan also selected more than twenty teenagers to teach them literacy while involving them in tasks.

On the other side, Lu Bo and Li Dagui each led six or seven young men to Kui Prefecture City and Taiping County respectively, with Li Dagui purchasing various resources in Kui Prefecture and transporting them to Taiping County, and Lu Bo renting residences in Taiping County awaiting Li Dagui’s arrival with the resources.

Everyone took their positions, each carrying out their tasks, everything proceeding in an orderly manner.

Yang Mingzhao was also very active, participating in various activities.

While they were preparing to attack Taiping County, Yang Zhenshan and Yu Qingyi arrived at Snow Spirit Palace.

They traveled by boat from Li Sheng Dynasty, then passed through the Li Sheng Dynasty into the Snowy Plain.

The situation in the Li Sheng Dynasty seemed unsettling, with nobles indulging in luxury and debauchery, amidst the hustle and bustle, while the ordinary people were scantily clad, barely surviving, with vagrants and beggars seen everywhere.

Yang Zhenshan and Yu Qingyi naturally paid no mind to the affairs of the Li Sheng Dynasty; they kept delving into the forests, searching for plants to transplant into the Spiritual Spring Space.

After wandering for more than a month in the Li Sheng Dynasty, they entered the Snowy Plain right in mid-August. At this time, the temperature in the Snowy Plain was not too low, probably between zero and ten degrees.
