Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 596: Chapter 505 The Wonders of Spiritual Spring Water_2

The top priority is to protect the Star Origin Fruit Tree, then wait for each of the Innate Martial Artists to show up and publicly announce his earlier proposal.

A night passed without any events.

Early next morning, soldiers began to clear everything in Cui Xia Valley.

All the troublesome vegetation was removed, first creating a path that could connect to the official road, then clearing away all the bodies on the ground.

Yang Zhenshan walked out of the tent and looked up at the surrounding peaks. After making sure no one was hiding around, he relaxed a bit.

”Marquis!” Luo Jingsong approached and bowed.

”Mhm, come, take me to see that Star Origin Fruit Tree!” Yang Zhenshan ordered.

”Understood!”

The two then walked towards the tent in the center of the camp.

To avoid damaging the Star Origin Fruit Tree, Yan Bo had specially had a large tent set up over it.

Lifting the cloth curtain, Yang Zhenshan entered the tent and immediately saw a tree in front of him.

This tree was not tall, barely reaching ten feet at its highest point, and its branches and leaves were still lush. If not for the fruit, the tree actually bore no difference from a jujube tree.

Its fruit, too, was similar to jujubes, thumb-sized and in a bluish-red color.

What confirmed it as the Star Origin Fruit Tree were the glowing halos on its fruits, with bluish halos wrapped around the thumb-sized fruits.

Compared with the Three Yellow Plums of the Sanshan Valley, this Star Origin Fruit Tree was extremely unremarkable.

However, this was normal, as the Three Yellow Plums in Sanshan Valley had grown for over three hundred years, and the tree crown reached more than thirty feet high, whereas the Star Origin Fruit Tree in front of him had just grown and was bearing fruits for the first time this year.

Yang Zhenshan closely observed the Star Origin Fruit Tree and then said to Luo Jingsong and a few others, ”You guys go out first!”

”Understood!” Luo Jingsong immediately led several guards out of the tent.

Meanwhile, Yang Zhenshan squatted down and began to study the soil.

He was curious as to why this Spirit Plant grew here.

He had reviewed many books on Spirit Plants in the past few days, but unfortunately, most books only recorded that Spirit Plants grew in blessed lands.

But why these places were considered blessed lands, and why Spirit Plants could only grow in blessed lands, he found no answers.

He had also visited Sanshan Valley and observed the Three Yellow Plum trees but still came up empty-handed.

He rummaged around the ground for a while, finding nothing special.

Then, he stood up, stroking his beard, and closely inspected the fruit tree in front of him.

Speaking of blessed lands, the Spiritual Spring Space was definitely a blessed land, as the Three Yellow Plums planted in the Spiritual Spring Space were growing robustly.

”Spiritual Spring Water!”

Yang Zhenshan thought for a moment, then placed his hand near the roots of the fruit tree, with a stream of clear spring flowing from his fingertips, slowly seeping into the soil.

While controlling the flow of the Spiritual Spring Water, he observed the changes in the Star Origin Fruit Tree.

However, the Star Origin Fruit Tree showed no changes!

About fifteen minutes later, Yang Zhenshan withdrew his fingers.

”Is it ineffective, or was there not enough time?”

”No, that’s not right, Spiritual Spring Water must be effective, the robust growth of the Three Yellow Plums in the space is because of the Spiritual Spring Water!”

”Wait and see then!”

With that thought, Yang Zhenshan simply sat next to the Star Origin Fruit Tree to wait.

Two hours passed, and the Star Origin Fruit Tree still showed no change.

Four hours passed, still no change.

A day passed, and Yang Zhenshan shook his head slightly in disappointment.

”It’s really strange!”

He had waited here for a day and a night, yet the Star Origin Fruit Tree had not shown any changes at all.

”Sigh!”

Yang Zhenshan stood up, ready to step outside to get some fresh air.

However, just as he was lifting the curtain of the tent, he suddenly paused.

”No, it’s not that there were no changes; I simply failed to notice them!”

He quickly walked over to the Star Origin Fruit Tree, focusing on the bluish-red fruit at the very bottom.

After closely inspecting it for a long time, he couldn’t help but laugh.

”I knew it, how could Spiritual Spring Water be ineffective!”

The halo of this Star Origin Fruit was a bit brighter than before, though only a subtle change that Yang Zhenshan had not noticed previously. But when he lifted the curtain and sunlight entered the tent, he realized that today’s halo was much brighter than yesterday’s.

Apart from the halo, the blue and red peel of the Star Origin Fruit was also changing.

The red hue of the fruit’s skin expanded, indicating that the Star Origin Fruit was nearing maturity.

Although these were only subtle changes, they also proved that Spiritual Spring Water could nourish the growth of Spirit Plants.

Then the question arose!

If a region was given to Yang Zhenshan, could he transform it into a blessed land by utilizing Spiritual Spring Water?

It seemed possible!

But it also seemed unnecessary.

Yang Zhenshan possessed the Spiritual Spring Space, and there was no need for him to go to the trouble of changing other lands into blessed lands.

In fact, Yang Zhenshan just wanted to see if Spiritual Spring Water had any effect on Spirit Plants; although there was a Three Yellow Plum in the Spiritual Spring Space, there was only one and no reference for comparison, so Yang Zhenshan didn’t know its growth condition.

Now, just by watering the Star Origin Fruit Tree with a small amount of Spiritual Spring Water, it had caused changes in the tree and sped up the maturation of the Star Origin Fruit.

From this, it was evident that Spiritual Spring Water could indeed nourish Spirit Plants.

Perhaps Spiritual Spring Water could be used as a fertilizer for Spirit Plants.

Having reached this conclusion, Yang Zhenshan left the tent contentedly.

Three days later, Lv Shizhi led the soldiers from the martial arts camp and Yao Wu Camp to Cui Xia Valley.

Then Yang Zhenshan began organizing the soldiers to build roads and set up guard posts.

In no time, tens of thousands of soldiers in Cui Xia Valley were bustling with activity.

Ancient trees were felled by them, and wooden cabins were erected.

By the time it was August, the campsite around the Star Origin Fruit Tree had turned into a proper-looking village.

However, this was clearly insufficient.

In the future, Cui Xia Valley would inevitably become like Sanshan Valley, not only stationed with a large army but also with several Innate Martial Artists.

Thus, many more buildings needed to be constructed here.

Of course, all of these were matters for later; Yang Zhenshan only needed to set up a temporary military camp for now.

As time passed, what was bound to come would still arrive.

On the morning of the eighth of August.

A long procession stopped on the official road at the mouth of Cui Xia Valley.

The first to descend from the carriage was a woman with a dignified demeanor, wearing a wide-sleeved vest and a gold hairpin on her head.

Following her, an old woman with a snake-head cane walked down from the midst of the horses.

”Ah, getting old, I feel much lighter in the bones, can’t withstand the jolts anymore!” the old woman said, leaning on her cane and rubbing her lower back.

”Hehe, what is Granny Meng talking about? You’re not old at all!” said the dignified woman with a light laugh.

The old woman’s wrinkled face broke into a kindly smile, ”Can’t deny aging any longer!”

With that, the two walked towards Cui Xia Valley.

There were soldiers on guard at the entrance of Cui Xia Valley, but before these two entered, someone had already handed a token to the soldiers.

The two women proceeded along the newly repaired and somewhat uneven road deep into Cui Xia Valley.

Though the old woman appeared frail, she walked almost six miles along the uneven road without showing any sign of fatigue.

About forty minutes later, they arrived at the camp.

Yang Zhenshan had already been waiting outside the camp gate.

Seeing the two approach, he hurried forward and greeted respectfully: ”Your servant pays respects to Princess Ming Xi and Senior Meng!”

Chen Mingxi looked at Yang Zhenshan and smiled, ”Marquis Jing’an, no need for such formalities.”

”Thank you, Your Highness!”

After Yang Zhenshan expressed his gratitude, he looked at the two individuals in front of him.

Granny Meng, mysterious even in Sanshan Valley, was said to be proficient in pharmacology and had legendary medical skills.

Princess Ming Xi, sister to Emperor Chengping and aunt to Emperor Yanping, was also an Innate Martial Artist.

It was not clear how many Innate Martial Artists Emperor Yanping had summoned here; if it were only these two, it might be somewhat overwhelming to manage the situation.

Although Yang Zhenshan was fully responsible for the Star Origin Fruit Tree this time, he did not have the authority to command the Innate Martial Artists from Sanshan Valley.

He could manage the Yao Wu Camp and the martial arts camp, but to have the Innate Martial Artists from Sanshan Valley under his command, haha, would be ludicrous.

Thus, until now, Yang Zhenshan was still unaware of which Innate Martial Artists would come to Cui Xia Valley.

After welcoming Granny Meng and Princess Ming Xi into the camp, Yang Zhenshan made some simple arrangements and then excused himself.

He was not familiar with these two, nor did he have much to talk about with them.

As for other matters, he need not worry; the two had come with attendants, and Yang Zhenshan simply needed to arrange two wooden cabins for their accommodation.
