Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 560: Chapter 489: Old man, even if I were to take in disciples, I wouldn’t take in an old coot like you!

As Yang Zhenshan was immersed in the surprise brought on by the Three Yellow Plums tree, a chubby man came running over, saying with a beaming face, ”Could it be that Marquis Jing’an has personally arrived?”

Yang Zhenshan came back to his senses and looked at the man, ”I am indeed Marquis Jing’an, and who might you be?”

”Please, do not mind me, I am Manager Lin Kuangguang from the Sanshan Valley, pleased to meet Marquis Jing’an!” Lin Kuangguang said, smiling like the Maitreya Buddha.

Yang Zhenshan sized him up, ”Manager Lin, I’m sorry for the trouble!”

This Manager Lin appeared quite ordinary, but from his aura and demeanor, one could tell he was no common man.

Not an Innate Martial Artist, but at the very least, he had a cultivation beyond the Postnatal Eighth Layer.

”Haha, Marquis Jing’an, please come in!”

Lin Kuangguang led Yang Zhenshan into the valley.

Yang Zhenshan walked and observed the surrounding scenery, while Ding Qiu followed behind him obediently, not daring to overstep.

This was the Sanshan Valley, home to seven Innate Martial Artists, some of whom were ancient figures who had lived for over a hundred years.

Now, Yang Zhenshan had some understanding of the seven Innate Martial Artists of the Sanshan Valley.

The seven Innate Martial Artists were Zhang Ye, Granny Meng, An Yuxing, Yue Gu, Jian Chengfeng, Lin Shanshui, and Chen Mingxi.

Among them, in terms of age, Zhang Ye was the eldest, reportedly over 130 years old; Granny Meng came next, An Yuxing was only third, but he too was over a hundred years old.

For Zhang Ye and Granny Meng, Yang Zhenshan knew very little, as these two were indeed ancient relics, and it was difficult to find out information about them.

An Yuxing was, of course, the one Yang Zhenshan was most familiar with.

And Yue Gu, who was also over ninety years old, was originally a Jianghu Martial Artist; after breaking through to the Innate Realm, he had lived in the Sanshan Valley ever since, for forty years now.

Jian Chengfeng had once risen to the position of the Crown Prince’s Tutor and was acquainted with Zhou Mao; Yang Zhenshan learned quite a bit about him through Zhou Mao.

Jian Chengfeng had another identity—that of the mentor of the Great General Jiang Zhen, who clashed with Emperor Chengping over some issues, and had even once caused a ruckus in the Emperor’s Imperial Study Room.

As for Xun Shanshui, he was also a legendary figure. This man was not just a mere Martial Artist; he had once held the position of Minister at the Honglu Temple. Yes, he was a civil servant, who had now become an Innate Martial Artist.

Lu Zhongdao, the Family Head of the Lu family in Anning County, used to be his subordinate. When Xun Shanshui broke through to the Innate Realm, he retired to live in the Sanshan Valley, and Lu Zhongdao then took over as Minister at Honglu Temple.

Now, Lu Zhongdao had already retired and returned to his hometown, yet Xun Shanshui still resided in the valley.

The last one, Chen Mingxi, was the youngest Innate Martial Artist in the valley, now aged sixty-five.

Speaking of her, there was indeed much to talk about.

Chen Mingxi, Princess Ming Xi—yes, she was from the royal family, and moreover, she was the biological sister of Emperor Chengping, that is, the aunt of Emperor Yanping.

Princess Ming Xi had entered Sanshan Valley about forty years ago, shortly after Emperor Chengping ascended the throne. Back then, she was not an Innate Martial Artist, but after her husband and son died from illnesses, her heart grew cold, and she wished to become a nun. Emperor Chengping, caring deeply for his sister and not wishing her to become a nun, allowed her to stay and recuperate in Sanshan Valley.

However, Emperor Chengping did not expect that after arriving at Sanshan Valley, Princess Ming Xi would diligently study and train hard every day; her cultivation grew by leaps and bounds. It took only over a decade for her to accumulate Innate True Qi, stepping into the Half-step Innate Realm.

Of course, Chen Mingxi’s achievements would not be possible without the aid of the Three Yellow Plums and the guidance of Granny Meng. Chen Mingxi could be regarded as a disciple of Granny Meng.

And so, Chen Mingxi has remained in Sanshan Valley and became the youngest Innate Martial Artist there.

These matters were all relayed to Yang Zhenshan by others; he himself had not met Princess Ming Xi.

But for a princess to become an Innate Martial Artist was nothing short of legendary.

Unfortunately, in the current world, there are not many who still remember Princess Ming Xi.

Besides the seven Innate Martial Artists, there were many of their disciples in Sanshan Valley, as well as numerous servants responsible for taking care of the valley, totaling around four or five hundred people.

Like Lin Kuangguang, he was actually a disciple of Jian Chengfeng, but being idle, he took on the role of manager in the valley, usually responsible for receiving visiting Innate Martial Artists.

Led by Lin Kuangguang, Yang Zhenshan arrived at the gate of An Yuxing’s courtyard.

The courtyard wasn’t large, just a three-sectioned residence.

However, behind the courtyard was a Medicinal Field, planted with many medicinal herbs.

In fact, there were many Medicinal Fields inside Sanshan Valley; Yang Zhenshan had just seen a large Medicinal Field, with no less than a hundred varieties of medicinal herbs within.

Lin Kuangguang knocked on the courtyard door, which opened, revealing an old man with white hair—it was not An Yuxing.

”Old Han, is Senior An at home? Marquis Jing’an has come to visit!” Lin Kuangguang said with a smile.

Old Han looked at Yang Zhenshan outside the door, hurriedly opened it wider, ”It turns out to be Marquis Jing’an paying a visit. The old master has been mentioning Marquis Jing’an these past few days, saying that the wine given by Marquis Jing’an is a rare delicacy!”

”Hehe, then please convey my presence to him!” said Yang Zhenshan with a smile.

”Please, Marquis Jing’an!” Old Han first led Yang Zhenshan through the door, while Lin Kuangguang took his leave.

The furniture in the hall was old and simple, but it did not seem shabby.

After waiting for a short while in the hall, An Yuxing came with a wine jug in hand, emanating a strong smell of wine.

The old man always had a wine jug close by, bringing the smell of liquor wherever he went, a true wine lover.

”Why have you come?” An Yuxing was somewhat surprised by Yang Zhenshan’s visit.
