Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 565: Chapter 491 If the Marquis wishes to listen to music, I can help the Marquis pick a few girls!_2

Therefore, Chunman Building is a place full of talent and artistry.

Yes, that’s right!

Chunman Building is cultured, emphasizing the elegance; it is a place where worldliness exists without the vulgar.

Under the coercion of four Martial Artists, Luo Shang entered Chunman Building and came to a private room on the third floor.

The room’s interior was draped with low-hanging gauze curtains; the surrounding walls were all covered with brocade, and even the ceiling was screened with embroidered felt, creating a hazy atmosphere.

Behind the gauze curtain lay an intricately carved jade-inlaid ivory bed, adorned with brocaded quilts and embroidered bedding, behind which the silhouettes of a few figures could be faintly seen.

One person lay on the jade-inlaid ivory bed, with two delicately built women smiling sweetly beside him as they attended to his needs.

Outside the gauze curtain, there were three graceful women with clean faces and white shirts, their ink-black hair flowing; occasionally, they lifted their wrists and lowered their brows, or gently moved their cloud-like hands, their sleeves creating a breeze, all their movements exuded the elegance of orchids.

Next to them, a woman with delicate eyebrows and slender eyes tenderly played the zither; the beautiful and spirited music trickled from her fingers like a stream flowing through the heart, soft and restful.

Despite the sensual scene, it appeared sophisticated and ethereal amidst the lingering sound of the zither.

Seeing this scene, Luo Shang quickly lowered his head and stood properly in place.

He too had traveled far and wide, not to mention, he had been to the flower boats of Jiangnan countless times.

Therefore, he was not unfamiliar with such scenes, and he understood the inner workings well.

In this room full of women, the most sought-after would likely be the zither-playing woman; with her skill alone, who knows how many literati and romantic scholars would fall for her.

The lowest on the other hand were the women attending and serving behind the gauze, for they catered to others with their beauty.

That’s how it is with brothel women; if you’re cultured, you’re noble.

”Young master, Old Master Luo has arrived!” one of the Martial Artists informed, stepping forward to speak.

The young man behind the gauze, who was listening to the music with closed eyes, slowly opened them upon hearing this, his gaze piercing through the gauze and landing on Luo Shang.

”Old Master Luo!”

”I dare not, I have seen the young master!” Luo Shang quickly gave his respects.

”Hehe~~”

A laugh tinged with mockery came from behind the gauze, and then the curtain was lifted to reveal a handsome young man dressed in a moon-white long shirt.

”I invited Old Master Luo here today because I have a favor to ask!”

”Young master may command me as you wish. As long as it is within my abilities, I shall not refuse!” Luo Shang cautiously replied.

The young man looked at him approvingly and said with a smile, ”You are quite sensible!”

Luo Shang, with his head lowered, looked at the brocade pattern on the young man’s clothing, not even daring to breathe too heavily.

Python pattern!

The prestige of a python robe is second only to an Emperor’s robe. In Da Rong’s early times, generally only the Crown Prince and Princes were allowed to wear it. However, since two hundred years ago, when the Emperor began to bestow python robes on meritorious officials, many influential people within Da Rong also came to wear them.

For someone like Yang Zhenshan, he has a qilin robe but not a python robe; yet as a third-class marquis, all of Yang Family’s children are permitted to use the qilin pattern as a decorative motif on their clothing.

By the same logic, those who could embroider python patterns on their clothing must certainly belong to a noble house that has been specially granted the privilege.

In the Capital City, there are quite a few people allowed to wear python robes, but not too many.

Regardless of which one, none are individuals Luo Shang, a merchant, can afford to offend.

”I want all of the Luo family’s glass businesses in Longnan, Nanyun, and Jiangnan, including the Shopkeepers and assistants in the stores. What do you think, Shopkeeper Luo?” the young man said softly.

Luo Shang felt his heart jump; damn it, this is to snatch all of the Luo family’s glass businesses away.

In the beginning, Yang Zhenshan had established six major distributors, each with two provinces and a border town, as well as territory within Jiangnan.

Thanks to Yang Zhenshan’s favor, the Luo family got a bit of an advantage and had two prefectures in Jiangnan.

However, the border town allocated to the Luo family was Chongshan Town.

The young man before him wanting to take the glass business in Longnan, Nanyun, and Jiangnan would almost amount to severing all the Luo family’s business ties in the glass industry.

”This... I’m not the decision-maker in this matter!” was all Luo Shang could say.

”Oh!” The young man’s gaze turned icy, ”You’re not the decision-maker? Should I ask Marquis Jing’an to be the decision-maker instead?”

Luo Shang’s heart shook violently at once.

The person before me has mentioned Marquis Jing’an, which means he isn’t afraid of Yang Zhenshan.

But now that things have come this far, he had no choice but to bring up Yang Zhenshan.

Given his status, he had no right to bargain, only by bringing up Yang Zhenshan could there be room for relief.

”Exactly!”

”Ha ha, I will talk to Marquis Jing’an myself about that. As for you, all you need to do is hand over all the shops!” The young man said carelessly.

Luo Shang’s heart sank immediately, even Yang Zhenshan couldn’t stop this person, it seemed that the Luo family really might have to give up the glass business.

Just when Luo Shang was wondering whether to agree, the door to the private room was suddenly pushed open.

The four martial artists inside the room immediately became alert.

The young man frowned and looked towards the door.

At the entrance, someone dragged two gatekeeping martial artists and threw them directly into the room.

Upon seeing this, the young man’s face turned extremely ugly.

Those were his attendants, and this person had actually thrown them into the room!

”Who are you?”

He asked coldly.

The person at the door glanced at him, then stepped aside and beckoned.

With the sound of rustling, a group of martial artists dressed in strong clothing flooded into the room, surrounding the private room tightly before the young man could react.

Seeing this, the four martial artists hurriedly guarded the young man.

Luo Shang was initially shocked, but as soon as he recognized the faces of the newcomers, the worry in his heart instantly subsided.

The newcomers were none other than Ding Qiu and the guards of the Yang family.

At the same time, a familiar voice sounded from outside the private room.

”Ha ha, sorry, sorry, Marquis has some business to attend to, hope I didn’t ruin everyone’s good time. Shopkeeper, serve a pot of fine wine to each guest, put it on my account!”

As Yang Zhenshan cheerfully ascended the stairs, he clasped his fists to apologize to the guests he had startled.

”May I ask for the respected name of this gentle sir!”

He had just reached the third floor when a charmingly dressed woman who still held her allure greeted him with a smile saying.

”I am Marquis Jing’an, hehe~~”

Yang Zhenshan responded with a light laugh.

The madame’s smile became even brighter at his words.

”If Marquis wants to listen to music, I can pick a few girls for Marquis.”

”No need, no need, someone has invited me today! You see to serving wine to everyone!”

”Wu Hai, the Silver!”

Yang Zhenshan did not pay her further attention, leaving a word, he headed straight for the private room to the side.

Behind him, Wu Hai stepped forward and handed a stack of silver notes to the madame.

The madame glanced at the silver notes and ultimately accepted them.

Running a brothel in the Capital City was fraught with risks.

Young nobles were hot-tempered, brawls were common, and a slight mishap could lead to legal trouble.

She, a mere madame, could not afford to disrespect a Marquis.

And since Yang Zhenshan was happy to pay Silver to apologize to the guests, despite her reluctance, she could only obediently accept it.

However, when she saw which private room Yang Zhenshan entered, her face instantly turned pale.

Without time to care about the affairs inside the private room, she hastily called for a servant, ”Quick, go find the eldest son!”

Chunman Building naturally had a backer as well, without a backer, Chunman Building couldn’t have started in the Capital City.

Yang Zhenshan was unaware that the madame had called for help, but even if he knew, he wouldn’t care.
