Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 589: Chapter 502: Various Forces Gather, Chaos

July 22.

Yang Zhenshan led the Yao Wu Camp and practiced two camps, totaling twenty thousand soldiers, leaving the Capital City.

The army set out, vast and magnificent, with an imposing aura that was chilling to the bone.

The Twelve Camps should be the most elite troops of Da Rong, even now the Five Camps of Chongshan Town are somewhat inferior compared to them.

However, if the Five Army Camps of Tenglong Guard could be reorganized, their combat power would even surpass the Twelve Camps.

Of course, this is under the condition of equal troop strength.

After all, initially, the Five Army Camps only had six thousand men, whereas the Twelve Camps had a total of one hundred and twenty thousand soldiers.

On the first day the army set out, they marched no more than a hundred miles, not even leaving the borders of Shuntian Prefecture.

This was still under the condition of not carrying a large amount of heavy luggage; if they did, they’d probably only cover forty to fifty miles a day.

As evening approached, the army set up camp and started cooking.

Yang Zhenshan sat in the command tent, reading the intelligence sent by Wu Zheng.

These past days, the number of Jianghu Martial Artists gathered in Cui Xia Valley had increased even more, probably exceeding two thousand now!

And the atmosphere in Cui Xia Valley had become increasingly tense.

Although the Secret Martial Guards had a strong deterrent effect on the Jianghu Martial Artists, it was hard to guarantee that many wouldn’t rush forward all at once.

With so many Jianghu Martial Artists gathered together, if someone were to stir up trouble, the situation could become uncontrollable.

Although there is still more than half a month until the Star Origin Fruit ripens, Yang Zhenshan felt it was better to lead the army there as soon as possible.

After thinking, he looked up at Marquis Xue Ou and Marquis Lv Shizhi in the tent.

”How many cavalry do your two camps have?”

Xue Ou replied, ”Yao Wu Camp has five thousand cavalry!”

Lv Shizhi replied, ”The practice camp has four thousand cavalry!”

Yang Zhenshan nodded slightly and said, ”Tomorrow, Marquis Xue, you will take five thousand cavalry with me to go first, and Marquis Lv, you are responsible for holding the rear.”

”What happened? Any changes in Cui Xia Valley?” Xue Ou asked with some confusion.

Yang Zhenshan shook his head, ”Not at the moment, but I’m afraid that if we delay, something unexpected will happen!”

Xue Ou nodded, saying, ”Okay, I will go and get my cavalry ready, we depart early tomorrow!”

”Mm!”

Yang Zhenshan looked again at the letter in his hand.

Actually, the most troublesome part now is not the Jianghu Martial Artists gathered in Cui Xia Valley, nor those Innate Martial Artists who have not yet shown up, but the mastermind behind all this.

Abandoning a Spirit Plant and setting such a big trap, this is definitely not something an ordinary force can do.

Yang Zhenshan had suspected this was a conspiracy by the Divine Sun Sect, but unfortunately, he couldn’t find any evidence.

Since the incident in Nansheng, the Secret Martial Guards had been searching for traces of the Divine Sun Sect, but the sect seemed to have vanished into thin air, and no matter how the Secret Martial Guards searched, they found no clues.

As for this time with the Star Origin Fruit Tree, the Secret Martial Guards were also investigating in secret, but there has been no harvest yet.

...

Deep in Wanshan Ridge, the residence of Tianquan Star Hall.

Cui Kai, Deng Maoqi, Ding Xuan, and Kou Rong were discussing the situation in Cui Xia Valley.

The news of the Star Origin Fruit Tree inside Cui Xia Valley surprised all four of them, it even seemed somewhat unbelievable.

Because their residence of Tianquan Star Hall was only a hundred miles west of Cui Xia Valley.

If it weren’t for confirming the news over and over, they would have found it hard to believe that there was a Spirit Plant within Cui Xia Valley.

Mainly because Cui Xia Valley was also within their range of activity; sometimes when they left their base, they would pass through Cui Xia Valley on the official road, but unfortunately, they never searched Cui Xia Valley.

”Do you think we should get involved?” asked Cui Kai with a solemn face.

The other three fell into contemplation.

After a while, Deng Maoqi opened his mouth and said, ”Let’s not think about the Star Origin Fruit Tree, but maybe we can take advantage of the situation to intensify the conflict between the court and the Jianghu forces!”

”What do you mean?” Cui Kai looked at him in surprise.

Deng Maoqi lowered his voice and said, ”Currently, a large number of Jianghu Martial Artists have gathered in Cui Xia Valley. What if they clash with the Mission Cavalry of the Secret Martial Guards?”

Cui Kai narrowed his eyes.

What would happen?

A fierce fight, countless dead and wounded.

Regardless of who wins or loses in the end, the court and many Jianghu forces will surely plant the seeds of enmity.

Martial Arts Temple will face turbulence in controlling the Jianghu later on.

Even though it might not necessarily stop the Martial Arts Temple from controlling the Jianghu, it can at least add some chaos to them and even delay the Martial Arts Temple’s control over the Jianghu for several years.

Thinking so, Cui Kai was somewhat tempted!

Just as he was about to have Deng Maoqi elaborate on the plan, the wooden door of the courtyard was suddenly pushed open.

A figure, wrapped in a black robe and wearing a hat, appeared at the doorway.

Cui Kai and the others looked in the direction of the sound and were slightly stunned to see the figure at the door.

Without hurry, the person walked into the courtyard, reached out, and took off the hat, revealing a pale face.

Seeing the face of the comer, Cui Kai’s eyes abruptly widened.

”Greetings to the head of the Punishment Hall!”

Star Moon Sect’s main branch is divided into four halls and four flags, the four halls being the Companion Hall, Management Hall, Punishment Hall, and Ritual Hall. The four flags are New Moon, Waxing, Full Moon, and Waning.

The one who had previously infiltrated Chongshan Pass, Gu Yunjian, was known as the head of the Main Punishment Hall, also called Lord Dongge.

And the one present now was the head of the Management Hall Qu Fusheng, ranked third in Star Moon Sect, only lower in status than the Sect Leader and the head of the Companion Hall.

Qu Fusheng looked at the four of them, a pale face showing a faint smile, ”Good, you’re all here!”
