Divine Level Witch Doctor

Hao Li joked, ”You’ve got some nerve, calling me out for being dirty. You’re the real expert here—not just driving a car, but a whole freight train! You’re shamelessly filthy!”

Zhao Yuan said sheepishly, ”You didn’t explain yourself and just reached for my crotch. How was I supposed to know what you were trying to do? The only reason I didn’t beat you to a pulp for being a pervert is because I was holding back. You should be grateful!”

Hao Li spread his hands, a look of pure innocence on his face. ”Alright, so it’s my fault, then?”

As they joked, the initial awkwardness in the air dissipated.

Hao Li’s gaze fell upon the Wind and Thunder Whip. Sizing it up, he said, ”Little Brother Zhao, is this the Magical Artifact you just made? It doesn’t look like much. How could it have caused such a commotion with all that wind and thunder?”

It wasn’t his fault for having poor judgment; the Wind and Thunder Whip’s appearance was truly unimpressive. At first glance, it just looked like a thick, black wooden stick—as plain and unremarkable as could be. Most importantly, there wasn’t the slightest trace of Qi flowing along its body. This made Hao Li wonder if Zhao Yuan had made a mistake. Had he just picked up a random stick from the rubble and called it his whip... no, his Magical Artifact?

Zhao Yuan, however, had no doubts.

He had activated his Qi Observation Technique the moment he could, discovering that extremely powerful and pure Qi was hidden within the Wind and Thunder Whip. In addition, the Information Leaf had also provided a description of it.

Zhao Yuan read the description, reciting it in his mind: ’Wind and Thunder Whip, an offensive Magical Artifact. Contains Celestial Thunder Power, which has an extremely strong deterrent and lethal effect against Evil Techniques, demon charms, Wangliang, and the like. Usage: Infuse Qi into the Wind and Thunder Whip to activate the Celestial Thunder. The power of the resulting Celestial Thunder varies based on the strength of the Qi and the Cultivator’s own power. It can even shoot out bolts of lightning and Thunder Aura to strike enemies from afar! Additionally, this Magical Artifact is twice as effective when used in conjunction with the Thunderbolt Whip Skill!’

’Thunderbolt Whip Skill? Twice as effective?’

Zhao Yuan’s eyes lit up. He hurriedly searched through the Information Leaf, looking to see if this complementary Martial Skill had been unlocked along with the Wind and Thunder Whip’s creation.

The result was disappointing. The Martial Skill section on the Information Leaf still only listed the same old ones; no new Martial Skill had appeared.

’Looks like I’ll have to find this technique myself!’

Zhao Yuan shook his head with a wry smile. Waiting for the Information Leaf to unlock the Thunderbolt Whip Skill could take who-knows-how-long. It would be better to ask friends like Lu Qing and Ying Ji for help and see if he could learn this Whip Technique sooner.

Although the Thunderbolt Whip Skill hadn’t been unlocked, Zhao Yuan did notice a few new things had appeared on the Information Leaf. Just as he was about to check them, Hao Li sidled up to him again and asked with concern, ”Little Brother Zhao, why did you suddenly space out? Are you okay? Are you feeling sick? Should I call an ambulance for you?”

Hao Li was genuinely worried, afraid that Zhao Yuan had been struck dumb by the lightning.

Zhao Yuan had to temporarily abandon the thought of checking his rewards. He waved his hand and said, ”I’m fine. They’re just some minor scrapes. I can take care of them myself. No need to call for an ambulance.”

”You’re sure?” Hao Li was still unconvinced.

Zhao Yuan nodded and said with certainty, ”I’m sure!”

Hao Li’s eyes darted around. Who knows what kind of story he had concocted in his head, but he sighed, patted Zhao Yuan on the shoulder, and said consolingly, ”Little Brother Zhao, don’t be disheartened. Failing at Artifact Refining is perfectly normal. The important thing is that you’re okay. Just learn from this experience, and once you’ve gathered the materials again, you can give it another shot!”

So, that was it. He thought Zhao Yuan had been staring blankly into space because he was heartbroken and despondent over failing to create the artifact.

To lighten the mood, he even joked, ”Actually, you should be proud. After all, you’re the first person I’ve ever seen cause such a huge commotion by *failing* at Artifact Creation.”

Zhao Yuan was surprised. ”Who said I failed?”

”Huh?” Hao Li was stunned for a moment. Thinking Zhao Yuan was too devastated to accept reality, he sighed. ”Little Brother Zhao, you need to let it go. The truth is right in front of you. You have to accept it!”

Seeing Zhao Yuan’s exasperated expression, Hao Li decided to dig his own grave and added, ”Fine. To make you accept reality once and for all, how about this: take that whip of yours and poke me with it!”

”That’s... probably not a good idea,” Zhao Yuan said, trying to refuse.

The Wind and Thunder Whip contained the might of Celestial Thunder. Although it was more effective against evil creatures and Demon Ghosts, it could still be lethal to a normal person. He had no desire to injure the kind-hearted big guy.

He also couldn’t help but complain, ”Also, can you please use my Magical Artifact’s full name? It’s called the Wind and Thunder Whip! You keep shortening it to just ’the whip,’ and it sounds... weird.”

Hao Li shot him a look and retorted, ”That’s because you have a dirty mind, so everything you see and hear sounds dirty to you! Now, enough nonsense. Hurry up and poke me. Come on, baby!”

When the big guy started acting shameless, he was so good at it he could give Xiaoyueyue a run for his money.

”Damn it!” Zhao Yuan couldn’t help but splutter. ”What are you, a jilted lover? ’Come on, baby’? Could you be any more disgusting? I’m afraid if my Wind and Thunder Whip pokes you, you won’t be able to handle it!”

Hao Li was not pleased. ”Come on, I’m a Marrow Cleansing Realm Cultivator, you know! I might be a little weaker than you, but not so weak that I can’t handle a poke from an ordinary wooden stick! You’re seriously underestimating me!”

Seeing how insistent he was, Zhao Yuan didn’t try to persuade him anymore. In any case, Hao Li was digging his own grave; it wasn’t like Zhao Yuan had asked for this. Besides, he was also curious to test just how powerful the Wind and Thunder Whip’s Celestial Thunder really was.

So he said, ”Alright, I’m going to do it. Brace yourself!”

Hao Li was completely unconcerned. ”It’s just a plain old stick. What is there to brace for? Just poke me already! If I so much as frown or make a sound, you can call me a dog!”

Zhao Yuan was still trying to be nice. ”You really shouldn’t tempt fate. It’s better if you prepare yourself.”

Hao Li thought about it and figured he had a point. The wooden stick might not be anything special, but Zhao Yuan was still powerful. If he got hurt by accident, it would be incredibly embarrassing. So, while he verbally dismissed the warning, he secretly made full preparations to avoid making a fool of himself through a moment of carelessness.

Zhao Yuan saw all of his subtle movements clearly but didn’t expose him, simply laughing to himself.

Once Hao Li was ready, Zhao Yuan infused his Wish Power into the Wind and Thunder Whip.

In an instant, the plain, unremarkable Wind and Thunder Whip completely transformed!

Clusters of sparks and arcs of electricity erupted along the Wind and Thunder Whip, transforming the pitch-black Wooden Whip into a ferocious Thunder Dragon!

”Huh?” Hao Li’s jaw dropped.

This unexpected scene made him realize with absolute clarity that he had completely misjudged.

’Damn, no way! This thick, black stick is actually a Magical Artifact?’

Feeling the Celestial Thunder Aura radiating from the Wind and Thunder Whip, Hao Li shivered involuntarily. His expression changed drastically as he hurriedly shouted, ”Wait—”

But it was too late!
