I Married the President

Chapter 151: Chapter 151: Are You Interested in a Straight-A Student’s Life?

Adrian Quincy looked down, meeting her gaze. ”Let’s sleep.”

Claire Sinclair: ”...”

’And here I thought he was going to say something important...’

Claire Sinclair pouted and obediently closed her eyes. ”You should get some sleep soon, too. I have to work tomorrow, so I’m going to stop talking now.”

Adrian Quincy lowered his head and kissed the spot between her eyebrows. ”Good night.”

”Good night.” Claire Sinclair closed her eyes, ready for sleep, but it just wouldn’t come.

”Mr. Quincy, I don’t think I can sleep.”

”What’s wrong?”

”I don’t know. Can you talk with me for a bit?”

”Okay.”

”I want to hear about the fun things you did when you were a kid.”

”My childhood? I don’t think you’d be very interested.”

”Why not?”

”Are you interested in the life of a straight-A student?”

The night deepened, and the couple’s sweet whispers painted the darkness with a unique hue.

...

「The next day.」

Claire Sinclair overslept with no warning.

When she woke up, it was already past nine-thirty, which meant she was half an hour late.

She sat up and looked around. The man was long gone from the room, but a trail of tenderness remained: the still-unfolded sheets, the shoes scattered on the floor.

Such a messy scene felt completely out of place in the otherwise pristine room.

Claire Sinclair scratched her hair. Since she was already late, there was no point in rushing. She leisurely got out of bed and walked into the bathroom.

By the time she came out, the room had been tidied up, and a brand-new set of clothes was laid out on the bed.

Claire Sinclair recognized the outfit—it was the one Adrian Quincy had personally picked out for her!

’That guy... did he just come in here?’

’No way. It must have been Nancy...’

Claire Sinclair quickly put on the clothes, strode out of the bedroom, and soon arrived outside the imposing office.

Aiden Howkins and Nancy Lockwood were standing on either side of the door. When they saw her, the former gave her a meaningful smile, while the latter remained expressionless, though she seemed a bit more excited than usual.

Aiden Howkins said with a smile, ”Young Madam, Young Master Quincy is inside. Are you going in?”

”Is he busy?” Claire Sinclair asked in return.

Aiden Howkins said, feigning mystery, ”I’m not sure if he’s busy, but Young Master Quincy doesn’t seem to be in a very good mood.”

”Then I’m not going in!” ’Are you kidding? If that guy’s in a bad mood, walking in there would be like walking straight into the line of fire. I’m not that stupid!’

Claire Sinclair was about to turn and leave when Nancy Lockwood stopped her. ”Don’t listen to his nonsense. Young Master Quincy has been waiting for you for a long time. Go on in.”

”...” ’Who’s telling the truth?’

Claire Sinclair hesitated, not daring to enter. She was, after all, a total coward.

Aiden Howkins had no choice but to change his tune. ”Young Madam, I was just kidding. Young Master Quincy really is waiting for you inside.”

”Okay, I’m going in then.” Claire Sinclair immediately pushed the door open and stepped inside. The sound of the door closing behind her made her instinctively glance back.

The door was shut. It was too late for regrets, so Claire Sinclair could only brace herself and walk forward.

Adrian Quincy looked up at her, set down the file in his hands, and then beckoned to her. ”Claire, come here.”

”What is it?” Claire Sinclair asked as she obediently walked over.

When she reached him, the man suddenly took her small hand and planted a kiss on the back of it.

’This guy...’

Claire Sinclair tilted her head and blinked innocently. Feeling the man’s doting affection, her heart began to beat faster and faster. ”What are you doing?”

’Is it really okay to be doing this kind of thing, in a place like this, so early in the morning?’

’Wait, what am I doing wasting time talking nonsense with him!’

’I’m already super late!!!’

Claire Sinclair snapped back to her senses and hurriedly pushed him away. ”Mr. Quincy, if there’s nothing else, I need to get to work!”

”Do I look like there’s nothing else?”

”Uh...”
