I Married the President

Chapter 183: Chapter 183: As Expected

”Sorry, that was my fault.” Adrian Quincy pulled the blanket back over her, then turned and got out of bed.

Seeing the powerful muscles of his back, Claire Sinclair couldn’t help but gasp. His back was covered in scratches—all her handiwork.

”Um... does it hurt?”

”Hmm?” Adrian Quincy was confused.

Claire Sinclair said sheepishly, ”I scratched up your back.”

”Don’t worry about it. You were just scratching an itch for me.”

”...” ’But I know I was scratching really hard! This guy is so thick-skinned!’

Adrian Quincy said nonchalantly, ”You took the morning-after pill yesterday. It’s effective for 72 hours, so you don’t need to worry.”

”Huh?” ’So it works like that?’ Claire Sinclair had always thought the morning-after pill was only good for one time.

’Hahaha... I feel so naive all of a sudden.’

The man spoke again. ”I’ll use a condom next time.”

’I don’t want there to be a next time!’

Blushing, Claire Sinclair tactfully changed the subject. ”I had my company fitness test today. I came in dead last in the 800-meter run, so now I have to go to a training camp. I can’t get out until I run a qualifying time.”

”I expected as much.”

”...”

Adrian Quincy put on a crisp, navy blue suit, instantly resuming his ascetic and aloof persona, as if everything that had just happened was merely an illusion.

He returned to the bedside and sat down, gazing into the girl’s lovely dark eyes. ”I’ll come visit when I have time. You need to work a little harder. Don’t give my men a reason to laugh at you for too long.”

’Does that mean everyone at the training camp is one of his people?’

’And he said his people would laugh at me...’

”Am I an embarrassment to you?”

”My reputation is nothing. Your sister once took first place in every single event at that training camp. The place is filled with tributes to her life’s achievements. For her sake, I hope you can see it through to the end.”

Hearing him speak of her sister’s past, Claire Sinclair realized that the burden on her shoulders was far greater than just simple physical training.

’To protect my sister’s honor, I have to see this through to the end!’

”I’ll do my best... Mmph—”

He’d stolen another kiss...

Claire Sinclair blinked, her breath catching as she stared at his handsome face, so close to her own.

”Go downstairs and have some lunch. You’ll still have time to rest a bit after you eat. I’ll take you to the training camp tonight.”

”Are you going to eat with me?”

”I’ve already eaten. You can go to the cafeteria and find something for yourself.”

”Oh...” ’It’s no fun eating alone.’

Adrian Quincy had guessed she’d be reluctant to part with him, but he hadn’t expected her to be this clingy. He couldn’t help but feel a little soft-hearted.

”Claire, if you keep looking at me like that, I won’t be able to control myself. I’ll want you again.”

Hearing this, Claire Sinclair raised her hands and pushed him away. ”Go on, hurry up and go...”

’Another round would kill me. I’d die of exhaustion right here on this bed!’

The corner of Adrian Quincy’s mouth lifted into a slight smile. He gave her one last, reluctant look before turning to leave.

’I’m saved...’

Claire Sinclair breathed a sigh of relief.

...

The training camp wasn’t far from Quincy Manor, just a few minutes away by car.

A section of its grounds was specifically set up for military-style training for personnel from affiliated organizations, such as public institutions like the Astoria Daily Press.

The car stopped in front of the main gate. Claire Sinclair got out, planning to wait by the entrance for her colleagues from the company to arrive.

Adrian Quincy got out of the car after her and came to stand by her side.

Claire Sinclair turned to look at his handsome face. ”Mr. Quincy, why haven’t you left yet?”

”I’ll leave in a little while.”

”Oh...” ’I really wish he wouldn’t leave.’

Claire Sinclair didn’t dare say what she was thinking. She could only feel a secret thrill, cherishing every single moment she had with him.
