I Married the President

Chapter 174: Chapter 174: Routine Work

The man’s hot breath on the back of her ear sent a pleasant tingle through her, making Claire Sinclair’s whole body go soft, her heart thumping out of rhythm.

”I... I don’t understand...” Even her voice had gone soft.

”It’s fine if you don’t understand. We have plenty of time to get in sync. Now, open the video and show me.”

”What video?”

The moment she asked, Claire Sinclair realized what he meant.

’This guy...’

She looked back at him and said irritably, ”I already showed it to you in the car.”

Adrian Quincy met her gaze, an intimidating chill in his eyes.

Alright. Claire Sinclair caved and silently opened the video.

The next second, an indecent scene began to play on the laptop. Luckily, she had muted the sound, which made things slightly less awkward.

Adrian Quincy stared intently at the video on the screen, then suddenly said, ”We can try that tonight. Delete it.”

”...”

’Looks like I won’t be sleeping with him tonight...’

Claire Sinclair deleted the video. ”Do I still have to give you my laptop?”

”Mhm.”

”But why do I still have to?”

Adrian Quincy reached over, took her laptop, and set it aside. Then he lifted her up, gently setting her down on the desk before pressing his body against hers.

Claire Sinclair’s heart clenched. ”What are you doing?”

”The two men I sent to protect you were shot and killed at Astoria Tower. Claire, what do you think we should do about it?”

Claire Sinclair’s eyes widened in an instant, fear flooding her heart. ”No wonder I heard three gunshots when I went downstairs. So they were trying to kill me... That’s terrifying...”

At her words, Adrian Quincy’s brows furrowed deeply, and he was instantly lost in thought.

Claire Sinclair cautiously lifted her head to look into his deep, dark eyes. ”Adri— Mmph!”

Before she could finish, the man bit her lip, hard.

”Wait for me here.”

With that, the man took her laptop and left.

Claire Sinclair was stunned for a long while. She slid off the desk and got back into her chair.

’To protect her, Adrian Quincy had just lost two of his men. He must be in a terrible mood.’

’As for the question he asked, she had no idea what to do either.’

’Speaking of which, my Little White should be okay, right???’

...

Claire Sinclair waited until she fell asleep at her desk. She didn’t know how long she’d been out when someone suddenly tapped her shoulder.

”Claire, wake up.”

”Ugh...” Claire Sinclair woke up groggily. Her entire arm was asleep, and she quickly shook it out. ”Mr. Quincy, where’s my laptop?”

’She just woke up and the first thing she thinks about is her laptop. Shouldn’t this girl be thinking about me?’

At that moment, Adrian Quincy realized he was actually jealous of a laptop and couldn’t help but chuckle.

”I can’t give the laptop back to you just yet.”

The moment he said that, she shot him a resentful glare. ”I wouldn’t have given it to you if I’d known!”

”Claire, this is just standard procedure.”

”Then when can I have my laptop back?”

”In a couple of days.”

”What a brush-off...”

’When people say ”in a couple of days,” it’s always just ”a couple of days.” Who knows how many ”couples of days” will pass after that.’

Adrian Quincy’s brows knitted slightly. ”Are you angry?”

”No. As if I’d dare get angry with you, Mr. Quincy. Can I go back now?”

”Stay here and rest tonight. I’m having some modifications made to the house.”

Claire Sinclair raised an eyebrow. ”What kind of modifications?”

”Since you wouldn’t agree to me installing security cameras at the house, I can only install a brand-new security system instead. If any danger arises, I’ll receive an alert immediately. That way, it won’t interfere with your life.”

”...” Claire Sinclair was speechless.

’This guy really has nothing better to do...’
