I Married the President

Chapter 170: Chapter 170: The Prankster Alliance (4)

Forget it.

Claire Sinclair gave up on the idea of making a call.

She rested for a moment, and sure enough, the feeling returned to her leg. She then set off with Henry Hartwell.

After a few minutes of walking, the two arrived at the entrance of a police precinct.

’So this is the safe place Teacher Hartwell was talking about...’

Henry Hartwell escorted Claire Sinclair inside and said something to the precinct chief. Afterward, Claire was shown into an office. She was told to rest there until someone from Quincy Manor came to pick her up.

Claire Sinclair scanned the office out of boredom. Noticing no cameras, she secretly took out Little White.

She turned it on, and a window immediately popped up on the screen—

[Your mission is to hack the Eastern District precinct. Please complete it within 30 minutes. You’ll receive a reward for completion, otherwise you must accept a wicked punishment.]

Go to hell!

Claire Sinclair ignored it completely. Her long, slender fingers flew across the keyboard, and soon, complex lines of code filled the screen...

「Thirty minutes later.」

Claire Sinclair locked onto a freshly discovered IP address. The target was a café in the Eastern District of Aethelgard, only about three kilometers away.

Staring at the complex data on her screen, Claire Sinclair mulled it over for a long while, a theory forming in her mind. She copied the IP address, added a short message, and sent it off—

「Cybersecurity Center.」

Dozens of elite white hat hackers sat in front of their computers, watching over their respective monitoring systems, not daring to let their focus waver for even a second.

Adrian Quincy and a group of his subordinates stood before the main monitoring console, their expressions grim as they stared at the feeds coming in. Hundreds of monitors displayed completely different scenes.

One screen showed a major intersection completely paralyzed, causing a serious car crash with casualties. Several injured civilians were crying out in despair, but no help was reaching them.

Another showed a roller coaster at an amusement park stuck mid-air, its riders screaming in terror. On the ground below, many in the waiting crowd were in tears, equally helpless.

Yet another screen displayed a fire at Astoria Tower, with thick smoke billowing and the flames raging out of control.

The adjacent monitor showed fire trucks stuck in traffic, unable to get through...

Utter chaos and panic gripped the city. People were anxious and restless, filled with a sense of helplessness.

Watching these constantly refreshing incident reports, Adrian Quincy’s expression grew darker and darker.

He had anticipated that the hackers would make a move today and had instructed other departments to take preventive measures.

However, no amount of preparation could stand against this group of highly intelligent hackers lurking behind their screens.

These villains were harder to deal with than robbers because their whereabouts were unknown. They could even launch remote attacks from a country on the other side of the globe.

Just then, someone hurried in from outside and walked up to Adrian Quincy to report:

”Young Master Quincy, latest update. The capitals of six countries—Meridia, Country J, Country F, Country B, and Country E, plus our own Aethelgard in Aridia—have been simultaneously attacked by unknown hackers. The most severe case is in Meridia. An international flight with 262 passengers was hacked five minutes after takeoff and crashed into a 55-story building. The entire building collapsed... This cyber war has become an international disaster.”

Hearing this, a flicker of pity crossed Adrian Quincy’s cold eyes, but it was quickly replaced by rage. ”Send out the order! Ground all scheduled flights! No departures are permitted, only arrivals. Shut down all high-speed rail, subways, even buses and bike-sharing services! Everything stops!”
