I Married the President

Chapter 198: Chapter 198: The Low-key Rich Second-Generation Teacher Hartwell

”This thirteen-spice crayfish is pretty good. It would be even better with some chili.”

”I can’t really handle spicy food.”

”Me neither.”

”Then let’s not add any. I think it’s best this way.”

”Yeah, no chili. We’ll eat it just like this...”

The two ate with great relish. Before they knew it, it was past eleven o’clock. Claire Sinclair let out a satisfied burp. ’I haven’t been this full in ages. This is bliss.’

Henry Hartwell wiped his mouth with a napkin and asked her, ”Are you going back to the hospital now?”

”Why would I go back to the hospital?”

”If not the hospital, where will you go?”

Claire Sinclair thought for a moment. ’I can’t go back to Quincy Manor, and Evergreen Garden is even more out of the question. As for my own home, Melanie Sinclair and her son are living there, and I definitely don’t want to go back to that.’

’Looks like a hotel is my only option...’

So, Claire Sinclair replied, ”I don’t have anywhere to go at the moment, so I’ll just get a hotel for now. Teacher Hartwell, I was wondering, would you be able to get my things from the training camp for me tomorrow?”

’I have a few outfits there, but most importantly, my phone. I have to get it back.’

”I can get them for you tomorrow, but have you really thought this through? Are you sure you’re not going back to his place?” Henry Hartwell asked tentatively.

Claire Sinclair’s tone was resolute. ”A person needs to have some self-respect. I’d rather starve on the streets than go back there to be humiliated again.”

”Alright, I’ll take you to a hotel then.” With that, Henry Hartwell stood up and walked toward a black sports car parked by the road.

Claire Sinclair thought he was going to hail a cab, but what she saw next was astonishing—

He opened the door of the sports car, got in, and even honked the horn twice!!!

It took a moment for the realization to dawn on Claire Sinclair, and she hurried over.

Henry Hartwell rolled down the window, leaned out, and said to her, ”Get in.”

After a moment’s hesitation, Claire Sinclair got into the car and fastened her seatbelt.

”Teacher Hartwell, this car is...”

”I was shopping nearby when I got a call from Aiden Howkins, so I rushed over to check on you. It’s faster to walk to the hospital from there, so I didn’t take the car.”

The real reason he hadn’t driven, however, was that he was too lazy to find another parking spot...

Claire then asked, ”This is your car?”

”Is that so surprising?”

”Not surprising, astonishing,” Claire Sinclair corrected.

Henry Hartwell laughed. ”It was a gift from my sister. I don’t usually drive it. It’s a gas-guzzler, and it’s a pain to find parking for a car like this, so I only take it out when I absolutely have to.”

As they spoke, the car pulled up to the entrance of a five-star hotel.

Claire Sinclair was stunned. ’Isn’t this where the M2L tenth-anniversary banquet was held???’

”Teacher Hartwell, why did you bring me here?”

”It’s my sister’s hotel. I’m a premium member, so I can get you a crazy-good rate. You can stay here for the night. The place is really nice.”

”...” ’A five-star hotel. What could she even say to that?’

And just like that, Henry Hartwell used his membership rate to check Claire Sinclair into a room.

So he could be on call to ”serve” the empress dowager, Henry Hartwell deliberately got her the room right next to his—that’s right, he lived in this hotel.

It wasn’t until she got upstairs that Claire Sinclair realized the truth. ’So Henry Hartwell is actually this rich. He’s usually so low-key, like an average guy. You’d never guess he was a rich heir who drives a sports car and lives in a five-star hotel.’

After getting Claire Sinclair settled in, Henry Hartwell returned to his own room, took out his phone, and sent a WeChat message to a certain someone.

Reporter Henry Hartwell: The young lady is heartbroken. She ate two pounds of crayfish and a plate of stir-fried rice noodles. She’s staying at my hotel now. Eldest Young Master Quincy, awaiting your instructions.
