Ghost Catching System

Someone quickly replied, ”Are you sure?”

The man in the trench coat responded, ”One hundred percent sure. He’s vomiting blood, but you still have to be careful. Although he’s very weak, he’s still very strong.”

”Understood.”

News of Chu Hao’s weakness spread. Those with ill intentions were thrilled and flocked to the county town where their prey was located.

A pair of twins traced Chu Hao’s tracks. They were from the Evil Technique lineage, belonging to the Corpse Refining Sect.

The Corpse Refining Sect was a second-rate Heretic Path with connections to the Corpse Chasing Lineage. Within Yin and Yang Realm circles, they were notorious for their utter cruelty. To refine corpses, these depraved individuals would stop at nothing.

The twin brothers were experts of the Corpse Refining Sect, around fifty years old. After the resurrection in the Human World, they had reaped enormous benefits.

The two brothers found Chu Hao on the outskirts of the county town. Seeing his pale face and the blood-stained handkerchief he held, they felt a surge of ecstasy.

”Big brother, he’s really injured,” said the younger twin, Dan Jun.

Without a word, the elder brother, Dan Teng, unstrapped the three-foot-long black coffin from his back. He slammed it heavily onto the ground, produced a Yellow Talisman in his hand, stuck it onto the coffin, and began reciting an incantation.

BANG!

The coffin lid opened, and out stepped a one-meter-tall Corpse Monster. It was small yet exuded a terrifying Evil Qi. This was a Corpse Demon.

Chu Hao looked at the Corpse Demon. It was a seven or eight-year-old child, now refined into a Corpse Demon, full of Evil Qi, with at least a hundred lives on its hands.

Chu Hao frowned. ”You two are from the Corpse Refining Sect.”

”Correct,” Dan Teng sneered coldly.

Chu Hao, puzzled, said, ”The Ghost Sutras are useless to you, and the True Word Brush is useless to you. Do you want the Emperor’s Yellow Seal?”

Dan Teng shook his head. ”No! We don’t want any of those. What we want is you.”

They actually want me?

Dan Jun also took out the three-foot-long coffin from his back, releasing another Corpse Demon from within. It was identical to his brother Dan Teng’s—clearly, they were twin Corpse Demons.

Dan Jun said eerily, ”You are very suitable for refining into a Corpse Demon. A naturally gifted physique, combined with the True Qi you possess, will absolutely make a powerful Corpse Demon.”

Damn! What on earth were these guys thinking? They didn’t come for the treasures but actually to turn me into a Corpse Demon.

Chu Hao’s face turned cold. Pretending to cough, he said, ”If you dare, come and try.”

”Go!”

Dan Teng produced a talisman in his hand and affixed it to the small Corpse Demon’s head. Instantly, it let out a piercing scream! It opened its blood-red eyes, bared a row of sharp teeth, and pounced toward Chu Hao.

Its speed was incredibly fast, like a streak of black lightning. Chu Hao sidestepped, and the small Corpse Demon bit into a stone beside him.

CRACK.

The stone was crushed by the small Corpse Demon’s bite. Chu Hao jumped in fright; if that bite landed on a person, it could shatter bones instantly.

Suddenly, Chu Hao felt the ground beneath him shake. He saw another small Corpse Demon burrowing out from the earth below him, its sharp teeth aiming straight for his groin.

Chu Hao broke out in a cold sweat and slapped it away.

BANG!

The small Corpse Demon was sent flying. It tumbled over and hissed at Chu Hao.

Dan Teng turned his head and said, ”Don’t damage the body.”

Dan Jun said, ”I know. Corpse Demons don’t need that stuff down there anyway.”

God damn it.

Chu Hao’s face darkened. These two bastards really saw him as prey.

The two Corpse Demons could burrow and their biting power was ferocious; they were indeed troublesome to deal with. But who was Chu Hao?

The twin Corpse Demons lunged, attacking him from both sides.

Chu Hao took out the Night Demon Blade from the System Space and circulated his True Qi. With one slash, the small Corpse Demon bit onto the blade but was also smashed hard onto the ground by the terrifying force.

The other one was sent rolling away like a punching bag by a Po Jun Fist.

CRACK! CRACK! The small Corpse Demon that had bitten the blade attempted to sever the Night Demon Blade.

Chu Hao sneered, ”You’re seeking death.”

True Qi gathered on his fist, forming a Demon-Breaking Talisman designed to counter Corpse Demons.

He smashed down with a ferocious punch.

BANG!

The small Corpse Demon was sent flying by the punch, black smoke billowing from its body. The blow had injured its tendons and bones, leaving the demon limp and unable to stand.

”What!” Dan Jun and Dan Teng’s expressions changed drastically.

Chu Hao drew his finger across the Night Demon Blade. True Qi flowed, and instantly, the blade became etched with the pattern of a Demon-Breaking Talisman.

As the other small Corpse Demon lunged at him, he swung his long blade and sliced it cleanly in two, as easily as cutting tofu.

”Ding… For slaying an advanced Corpse Demon, you have gained two million Experience Points.”

”Ding… Advanced Corpse Demon has dropped a Diamond Treasure Chest, now stored in your inventory.”

Dan Teng and Dan Jun were dumbfounded, gasping for breath. They turned to flee.

Damn it! Who said Chu Hao was weak? Does he look weak?

”Thinking of running now?”

Chu Hao’s long blade flew from his hand. It struck with precision, impaling the fleeing Dan Jun’s left leg and nailing him to the ground.

”Ah! Big brother, save me!” Dan Jun screamed in agony.

Dan Teng rushed to pull out the long blade, but Chu Hao was already upon him, delivering a fierce slap across his face.

Dan Teng cradled his face, his expression terrified. ”You... you’re not injured?” he stammered.

Chu Hao blinked. ”Not at all!”

Damn it! Who the hell said Chu Hao was injured? They’re trying to get people killed!

The two brothers were utterly disheartened. Chu Hao pulled out the long blade. As Dan Jun screamed, the blade fell, slitting his throat. He collapsed to the ground, blood gushing.

Dan Teng’s eyes were bloodshot. He trembled and pleaded, ”Spare my life! I’ll never appear before you again!”

Chu Hao shouldered his long blade and said, ”Actually, I don’t like killing. But some people must be killed. Like you.”

With a thrust of his blade, Dan Teng fell to the ground, eyes wide open in death.

Without its masters, the remaining small Corpse Demon went berserk. Such a creature could not be left alive; it might wander off and harm people. It was better to deal with it right away.

”Ding… For slaying an advanced Corpse Demon, you have gained two million Experience Points.”

A Yellow Talisman appeared in his hand. It burst into flames and incinerated the brothers’ corpses, leaving nothing behind.

Although they were dead, a strong resentment lingered. If left unchecked, it could have manifested as evil spirits or ghosts over time.

...

”Chu Hao is injured! Now is our chance!”

”Really?”

”It’s true. I saw him coughing up blood. He could barely run, slow as an old man.”

”Then what are we waiting for? After him!”

Countless people pursued him. Chu Hao hardly needed to look for them; they came like a pack of hungry wolves.

In the mountain forest outside the county, the pursuers caught up.

Taoist sects, Evil Cults, and various mysterious corporations from the Human World were originally uninvolved. However, they now came after hearing that the treasures Chu Hao possessed could significantly impact their future development.

Dozens of people surrounded Chu Hao on a forest path.

Chu Hao was coughing, his face extremely pale. The crowd was excited yet wary. They were excited because Chu Hao appeared injured and weak, but also cautious, worried about how to snatch the treasures if too many people were involved.

Therefore, they were eager to find more people to help; even搶搶抢东西 (robbing) required effort.

”Chu Hao, you’re done for,” a handsome young man said excitedly.
