Ghost Catching System

Old Pan, once quite famous in Anli City, had to affiliate himself with the Ritian Group to survive amidst its rapid development.

When Old Pan received a call from Qin Boren and heard that his subordinates had provoked the chairman of Ritian Group, his soul nearly flew away in fright. He immediately called Zhao Shang.

”The man in front of you is the chairman of Ritian Group. You have two choices: get his forgiveness or disappear tonight.”

Upon hearing these words, Zhao Shang was practically scared enough to wet himself.

Chu Hao’s expression remained as cold as ice.

Zhang Chuan, too, had a very bad feeling. Before long, his phone rang.

When Zhang Chuan saw it was his father’s call, he heard an urgent voice on the other end say, ”Did you offend someone?”

Zhang Chuan uttered an ”Ah,” and stammered, ”Dad, I... I...”

Hearing his son’s tone, Zhang Chuan’s father was almost certain. He roared, ”You son of a bitch, are you trying to get me killed? Multiple companies have called to refuse cooperation with us, and shareholders are starting to withdraw their shares! The company will be ruined in just a few days!”

Zhang Chuan’s mind buzzed; he was instantly dumbfounded. One phone call had caused such turmoil in his family’s company. What kind of power was at play?

Soon, another call came through on his father’s end. Zhang Chuan’s father was breathing rapidly, sounding utterly defeated as he said, ”It’s Ritian Group. They’ve made a move against our company. We’re finished.”

Ritian Group—the very company that had recently come to dominate Anli City. For such a massive corporation, wasn’t destroying Zhang Chuan’s family business a piece of cake?

Thinking of his son’s safety, Zhang Chuan’s father said frantically, ”Get out of Anli City right now! Leave the country immediately!”

Zhang Chuan was close to tears as he said, ”Dad, I... I’m afraid I won’t be able to leave.”

In front of everyone, Zhang Chuan knelt to the ground with a THUMP, his body trembling. ”Brother Hao, please spare my life, I... I...”

”DING... Host has succeeded in showing off, earning 900 Pretentiousness Points.”

A wave of shock, followed by another, washed over the onlookers. Everyone looked at Chu Hao with profound fear.

Zhang Chuan and Zhao Shang kept kowtowing, knocking their heads on the floor more vigorously than if they were worshiping their ancestors. Their foreheads constantly struck the ground, causing them to bleed, each man more desperate than the other, hoping for Chu Hao’s forgiveness.

Chu Hao’s face remained expressionless.

The people present kept swallowing nervously. Qin Zhengyu and his son Qin Shanchuan, in particular, stared, their eyes almost popping out of their sockets.

Chu Hao, hands clasped behind his back, said with an indifferent expression, ”Actually, even if I hadn’t made this call, you wouldn’t have lived until tomorrow.”

Hearing this, everyone couldn’t help but feel bewildered.

Chu Hao asked, ”Have you two been having frequent nightmares lately?”

Startled, the two men looked up at Chu Hao, their foreheads covered in blood. Indeed, they had been haunted by nightmares daily. Their spirits were so tormented that they had gone to a spa to relax.

Chu Hao continued, ”Is there a woman in them, trying to eat you?”

The crowd looked at the two men, who stood with their mouths agape, which seemed to confirm it.

In their nightmares, Zhang Chuan and Zhao Shang both experienced the same terrifying dream: they watched helplessly as a woman gnawed at their bodies. The sensation was horrifying.

”How... How did you know?” Zhao Shang asked, his face etched with shock.

Chu Hao sneered, ”What don’t I, this Taoist Master, know! She’s come to take revenge on you. You know perfectly well what you’ve done. Tonight is the seventh day after her death, and she will come for you.”

”DING... Host has successfully put on a Scary Show Off, earning 900 Pretentiousness Points.”

Zhang Chuan and Zhao Shang exchanged glances, each seeing the terror in the other’s eyes.

Indeed, they both knew the woman. Just seven days prior, after a night of drinking, they had seen a pretty young woman on the street and dragged her back to a hotel. Afterward, the woman had committed suicide by cutting her wrists in the bathroom. Panicking, they had taken her body to a remote mountain on the outskirts in the middle of the night and buried it.

The two men were dumbstruck.

They kept kowtowing and pleading, ”Master, please save us! We beg you!”

Chu Hao did not speak, his eyes cold and indifferent.

Zhang Chuan trembled all over, swallowing hard. ”The police... I... I want to confess.”

Confess—they were truly terrified. If they were previously scared of Chu Hao, the mention of the female ghost had caused both of them to mentally collapse.

Zhang Chuan recounted what had happened.

Qin Shanchuan said angrily, ”Arrest them!”

Impressive, he could actually tell, Fang Jingxue thought, shocked. Although she was from the Seventh District, she hadn’t sensed at all that these two were entangled by a ghost. Chu Hao was still the same Chu Hao; if only he didn’t solicit prostitutes, he would still be so impressive in my mind. What a pity. Such a talented person, why did he have to indulge in such a vice?

Zhang Chuan was terrified, snot and tears streaming down his face as he pleaded, ”Master, please save us.”

Chu Hao said, ”Good is rewarded with good, and evil with evil. Besides, why should I help someone who has a grudge against me?”

With that, Chu Hao turned and left. If he were to help such people, wouldn’t he be inviting a lightning strike from the heavens?

The two men fell deeper into despair.

After leaving the police station, Chu Hao took a deep breath and said to Tang Mo, ”Take me to Qinglian’s place.”

Tang Mo gritted her teeth. She resented Chu Hao but eventually nodded.

Having just returned, he was now off to the Imperial Capital again. Qin Shanchuan helped them get their IDs reissued, and the two set off.

「The following morning」

Police officers went to the cell, only to discover that Zhang Chuan and Zhao Shang were dead.

Surveillance footage revealed that the on-duty police officer had suddenly fallen asleep. In the footage, a female figure could be seen passing through the cell bars. The two men inside screamed and shouted, but the duty officer, as if drugged, couldn’t awaken.

Eventually, the two men had turned on each other, gouging out ears, noses, arms, and eyes, tearing off piece after piece of flesh until they died.

The scene in the surveillance video deeply shocked everyone at the police station. For such a paranormal event, they had no choice but to call a special organization to handle it.

The consensus at the station was that the young man from yesterday had been truly formidable. Looking back, Chu Hao had mentioned a bloody disaster looming over the two men, and by the next day, they were dead.

「Elsewhere」

Chu Hao had already arrived at the Imperial Capital.

The Imperial Capital, the capital of Huaxia Country.

All along the way, Tang Mo remained angry, not speaking a single word to Chu Hao until they disembarked from the plane.

Tang Mo said, ”Qinglian has fallen into a coma this time. We’ve sought masters from all over, but there’s been no improvement. That’s why I went to find you.”

Chu Hao nodded.

Outside the airport, someone had come to meet them in a luxurious Bentley.

A black-clad bodyguard got out, opened the car door, and said, ”Please, both of you.”

Once in the car, they realized Yi Qinglian’s father, Yi Zhengjun, was sitting in the backseat.

It had been a while since they had last seen Yi Zhengjun. His hair was streaked with a considerable amount of white, and he looked worn out from recent hardships.

”Uncle,” Chu Hao greeted.

Yi Zhengjun managed a smile. ”Ah-Hao, thank you for your trouble.”

Chu Hao shook his head. It had been Yi Zhengjun’s suggestion for Tang Mo to seek out Chu Hao; they were utterly out of options.

The car started, heading towards the city center.
