Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 943: 942 No Shutdown Allowed

“”All right,” Mo Xiuchen agreed somewhat reluctantly.

He paused, then added, “Even if Shen Yuting asks you to accompany her, don’t agree to it, Ranran. I don’t like you seeing Jiang Liu.”

Wen Ran was startled, looking at the big two characters written all over Mo Xiuchen’s face: ‘jealousy.’ She suddenly laughed, with her eyes curving into crescents, in such a pleasant mood.

“Mo Xiuchen, you look really handsome when you’re jealous.”

Mo Xiuchen narrowed his eyes and stared at Wen Ran’s brightly smiling face for two seconds, then with a pull of his hand, he pressed her onto the sofa and kissed her lips.

…

It was two hours later when Wen Ran finally got her freedom.

After all the exertion, she was so weak that even washing up afterward was done with Mo Xiuchen carrying her to the bathroom.

“Ranran, go to sleep.”

Mo Xiuchen placed Wen Ran on the bed, pulled the blanket over her, and kissed her forehead, his slightly hoarse voice falling soft on her ear.

Wen Ran was too sleepy to open her eyes, but she still managed to force them open, “I haven’t called Sister Ting back yet.”

Just now, as Mo Xiuchen was carrying her upstairs, Shen Yuting had called. Mo Xiuchen had directly turned off her phone. Now, Wen Ran was still thinking about calling Shen Yuting back.

Mo Xiuchen covered her eyes with his large hand and authoritatively said, “Sleep first, call her back tomorrow.” Anyway, he had turned her phone off, so Shen Yuting couldn’t disturb her anymore.

With her eyes covered by him, it didn’t take long before Wen Ran truly fell into a deep sleep.

Hearing her even breathing, Mo Xiuchen finally removed his hand from her eyes with satisfaction and turned to go to the study to look up some information.

The next day was Saturday, and Wen Ran slept until she woke naturally. When she opened her eyes, the spot beside her was empty. She yawned, leaned over to pick up her phone from the small table at the front of the bed, sat up, and turned it on.

As soon as the phone turned on, the beeping of missed call alerts began to sound.

Looking at the missed calls one by one, Wen Ran frowned in annoyance. It wasn’t just Shen Yuting’s calls she had missed, but also calls from her brother Wen Jin and from Bai Xiaoxiao.

Just as Wen Ran was about to return the calls, the phone began to vibrate and ring with a melodious tune in the quiet master bedroom.

The incoming call was from Xiaoxiao.

She pressed the answer button, her voice cheerfully spilling out from her red lips, “Hello, Xiaoxiao.”

“Why was your phone off when I tried to call? Ranran, I’ve barely left the country, and you’re already planning to ignore me,” Bai Xiaoxiao’s voice came across the Pacific Ocean, starting with a complaint.

Wen Ran laughed apologetically, “Xiaoxiao, sorry, my phone died last night, and Mo Xiuchen charged it for me. He didn’t turn it back on; I didn’t know.”

“Mo Xiuchen really turned off your phone after charging it?”

Wen Ran’s lips twitched, “Xiaoxiao, can you be a little more innocent please? How’s it going over there?”

“Just like I told you before, I’m in the apartment, calling you over and over, I haven’t even eaten yet.”

The door to the master bedroom was pushed open, and Mo Xiuchen’s tall and upright figure entered from outside. Seeing Wen Ran on the bed on the phone, he didn’t speak but gently smiled, walking into the dressing room to get her clothes.

Wen Ran’s gaze followed him to the doorway of the dressing room, and her face climbed with a happy smile, “Xiaoxiao, you and Luo Haofeng can over there…”

“We’re blissfully living in our little two-person world, with no one to disturb us.”

“You think I’m you? Him and I are just friends,” Bai Xiaoxiao’s voice clearly contradicted her words. Wen Ran teased, “It’s okay, you were just friends before, but these few days you can cultivate your feelings well, and have him stay at your apartment for a few nights…”

On the other end of the phone, Luo Haofeng was sitting right beside Bai Xiaoxiao. Although she hadn’t turned on speakerphone, he turned his face, leaned in close and also heard what Wen Ran had said, his mouth immediately curling into a pleased smile.

Bai Xiaoxiao glared at him and then pushed him to the side with her hand, speaking into the phone, “Ranran, you’re the dirtiest-minded of all, I won’t talk to you anymore, remember, never turn off your phone, I must be able to find you twenty-four hours a day.”

“Got it.”

Hearing Wen Ran’s assurance, Bai Xiaoxiao smiled contentedly and hung up.

“Xiaoxiao, now you can eat in peace, right?”

Luo Haofeng pulled Bai Xiaoxiao up from the couch and pushed her to sit down at the dining table, then sat down beside her.

Tonight’s dinner, after all, was made by him personally for her.

“Try my cooking,” Luo Haofeng confidently served the food into Bai Xiaoxiao’s bowl, feeling that eating hometown dishes in a foreign country was far better than eating the local Western cuisine here.

The main thing was, Luo Haofeng wanted to take the chance of being alone with Bai Xiaoxiao to show off properly, just like Wen Ran had suggested on the phone, to advance his and Xiaoxiao’s current platonic relationship to a closer one.

Bai Xiaoxiao laughed, picked up the food he had put in her bowl, and fed it into her mouth.

When she was dating Luo Haofeng, she had eaten his cooking as well, but only once or twice.

“Mmm, it’s delicious,” Bai Xiaoxiao swallowed the food in her mouth, her smile brightened a bit, and her eyes shimmered with a vivid allure.

The smile on Luo Haofeng’s face grew wider, “If it tastes good, eat more.” As he spoke, he continued to serve her more food.

“You should eat too,” Bai Xiaoxiao noted her rapidly filling bowl, held back her smile, and stopped him from continuing.

Luo Haofeng agreed, took some food for himself, chewed thoughtfully and swallowed, then smiled at Bai Xiaoxiao, signaling her to hurry up and eat.

Bai Xiaoxiao nodded, lowered her head, stopped talking, and concentrated on eating. Seeing that she was quiet, Luo Haofeng also said nothing. For a while, the dining room was filled only with the faint sounds of chopsticks clinking against plates, or the gentle clatter of a spoon against a bowl.

Silence is golden.

Though they weren’t speaking, the atmosphere was cozy and tranquil.

They hadn’t had this kind of interaction for a long time. Luo Haofeng was the first to put down his chopsticks and, watching Bai Xiaoxiao drink her soup, his narrow and romantic eyes couldn’t help but soften with tenderness.

There’s a thing called happiness; no words are needed, merely sharing a room with the one you love fills his entire heart. This was a feeling he hadn’t had since breaking up with Xiaoxiao.

After Bai Xiaoxiao finished her soup and lifted her eyes to meet Luo Haofeng’s tender gaze, her heartbeat unintentionally skipped a beat, and she asked with a twinkle in her eyes, “Why are you looking at me like that?”

Luo Haofeng didn’t speak but just gazed at her intensely, his passion evident. She still had soup on her lips, which, under the crystalline light, appeared moist and red. To Luo Haofeng, they were irresistibly appealing.

His gaze deepened, his Adam’s apple slid sensually as he saw Bai Xiaoxiao stand up, and he also rose to his feet, grasping her wrist and pulling her into his embrace, his other hand finding the nape of her neck as he bent down, his thin lips capturing her soft ones.

“…”

Bai Xiaoxiao was stunned by his flurry of movements and the kiss that followed. When their lips met, a jolt of electricity raced through her body, her heart trembled, and she froze!
