Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 930: 929 Are they a couple?

As Gu Kai turned his head, he caught a clear glimpse of the woman’s face and a flicker of complex emotion passed through his eyes. He did not overlook the bulge of her belly and his smile faltered slightly before quickly returning to normal.

“Brother, you got here so quickly, I thought it would take a while longer.”

Wen Ran did not notice the woman’s odd reaction upon seeing Gu Kai and did not pay attention as they left.

“Brother, I want to buy this baby crib for Tiantian. Help me take a look.”

Wen Ran cheerfully pulled Gu Kai over, pointing at the baby crib in front of them.

“That woman just now, do you know her?” Gu Kai examined the baby crib before him, then turned his head to glance in the direction the couple had left, asking as if casually.

Wen Ran, who was looking at Bai Xiaoxiao picking up a toy, did not quite catch what Gu Kai had said and blinked in confusion, “Brother, which woman?”

Gu Kai curved his lips into a smile, snatched the toy from her hands, gave it a squeeze, and immediately a cute child’s voice said, “Daddy, Mommy.”

Wen Ran giggled at the toy’s sound, suddenly realizing, “Brother, are you asking about the couple buying the baby crib just now?”

“They’re a couple?”

Gu Kai’s handsome brows slightly furrowed, his tone sounding as if he were talking to himself.

Wen Ran chuckled lightly, “Yeah, brother, what’s so strange about that? They both seem well-matched and were buying a baby crib together, so they must be a couple.”

She had overheard the sales clerk mention ‘this gentleman and his wife,’ and she thought they must be married. Moreover, the way the man looked at the woman was clearly with tender affection.

Gu Kai masked his expression with a laugh, “I didn’t say it was strange, just thought you knew them. I was wondering how your friends could be people I don’t know.”

“Don’t know them, because they wanted to buy this baby crib, I liked it too and said a few words. She even thought I was pregnant and buying the crib for that reason, and told me to wait until I knew if it was a boy or a girl.”

Wen Ran reached out to touch the baby crib, saying with a beaming smile.

“Yiyi, do you know Gu Kai?”

Li En was led by Bai Yiyi to the children’s clothing section, he paused, looked back, and frowned, his eyes probing Bai Yiyi.

Why was she in such a panic just now?

Bai Yiyi had calmed down, and brushing a stray hair from her face, she said lightly, “Don’t know him.”

“Don’t know him, then why did you leave as soon as you saw him?” Li En didn’t believe her.

“I’m a bit thirsty, let’s go downstairs for a drink,” Bai Yiyi said evasively. Without waiting for Li En’s response, she turned and walked towards the elevator on the other side.

“Yiyi, slow down.” Li En paused briefly, then quickly caught up to Bai Yiyi.

Two minutes later, the two sat at a milk tea shop on the first floor, choosing a spot by the window. Li En ordered some milk tea for Bai Yiyi and also a piece of cake.

He ordered a drink for himself.

“Yiyi, are you really not going to see the teacher?”

Li En took a sip of his drink and asked gently. He had visited his teacher Fu Jingyi a couple of days ago.

Hearing this, Bai Yiyi’s expression immediately turned cold, a hint of aloofness crossing her eyes and brows, “No, he doesn’t need me to visit him.”

“Actually, your teacher does care about you,” Li En said with a somewhat unnatural smile. Although Yiyi was his teacher’s daughter, their relationship was worse than that of strangers.

After Yiyi came to her senses, she changed her last name to her mother’s, from Fu Yiyi to Bai Yiyi.

Bai Yiyi laughed sarcastically, “He cares about me? Don’t make me laugh. He and I are not family, we are enemies. It’s better we don’t see each other to avoid getting angry.”

This man had only given her life, and it was while he was drunk, mistaking her mother for the woman he loved, that she came into this world.

“Xiaoxiao, have you really decided to just buy these two items?” Wen Ran asked as she looked at the two toys Bai Xiaoxiao had chosen, seeking confirmation.

Bai Xiaoxiao nodded, “Yes, just these two.”

“Ranran, what about you? Are you sure you want to buy this crib? Shouldn’t you call and ask? If Zhou Lin has already bought a crib, this will be redundant,” Gu Kai asked with a smile after Bai Xiaoxiao had made her toy choices.

Wen Ran’s eyes flickered, “No need, I love this crib. If Tiantian really doesn’t need it, then I’ll keep it for your children in the future.”

“Me?” Gu Kai exclaimed with widened eyes.

Wen Ran nodded brightly.

After a thought, Gu Kai said with a smile, “Alright, if you are keeping it for me, once I get married, I’ll make sure your sister-in-law has a girl. No boys.”

“You can’t not want boys,” Wen Ran teased with a laugh, “If that happens, I’ll just buy another one.”

“Haha, Gu Kai, then you better hurry and find Ranran a sister-in-law to have kids to sleep in this beautiful princess bed,” Bai Xiaoxiao joked.

Gu Kai arched his brow and said deliberately, “No rush. My girlfriend, once she’s had enough fun, will naturally come to me.”

“Brother, you’re about to turn thirty and still not rushed? Dad was your age when you already could run,” Wen Ran pouted discontentedly, and Gu Kai pretended not to hear her as he pulled out his card and handed it to the clerk, “Have all these sent to the parking lot.”

“Right away, sir, I’ll arrange it now,” the clerk said as he took the card and left. A few minutes later, he returned the card to Gu Kai and had arranged for someone to take their purchases to the parking lot on the first floor.

Gu Kai took his card back, told the clerk his parking space, and then turned to ask Wen Ran, “Ranran, need to buy anything else? While your brother is here today, pick whatever you want, I’ll pay.”

Wen Ran shook her head with a smile, “You’re too late. We bought a lot this morning. We only came to the mall to buy toys, nothing else we need.”

“How about buying some groceries? I can cook tonight, what do you think?” Gu Kai suggested with a charming lift of the brow, his handsome features brightened by his smile, indescribably charming.

“You sure you want to cook?” Wen Ran asked incredulously.

Gu Kai nodded, “Of course, you think only Mo Xiuchen can cook? I’m not unaccustomed to cooking myself.”

He had cooked for her several times before, and yet this girl looked at him with such an expression.

Wen Ran laughed, “All right, since you’re cooking, then let’s buy more ingredients. Let’s invite a few more people for dinner tonight to liven things up.”

“Suit yourself,” Gu Kai said and started walking.

Wen Ran and Bai Xiaoxiao followed, going downstairs with Gu Kai pushing the cart. Bai Xiaoxiao and Wen Ran picked out ingredients. “Brother, where are we going tonight?” Wen Ran casually asked while putting the selected groceries into the cart.
