Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 929: 928 Confirm if it’s a boy or a girl

Mo Jingteng had definitively accepted the DNA test results, and even though he found that Mo Xiuchen resembled him, he didn’t dare to explore it further, resulting in a long period during which he made no decision.

Soon after, Mo Xiuchen’s mother jumped from a building…

From then on, Mo Xiuchen hated Mo Jingteng, and their father-son relationship grew increasingly strained. It took over two years before Mo Jingteng reached out to Gu Yan, asking him to perform another DNA test.

Before the results were out, Mo Xiuchen was kidnapped. It was during that time that he met Ranran, narrowly escaped death, and returned, only to suffer injuries in that respect…

After hearing the consultative panel, Mo Jingteng lost all hope for Mo Xiuchen. When Gu Yan told him the results, his face turned pale, but his attitude toward Mo Xiuchen didn’t change.

The father-son relationship between Mo Xiuchen and Mo Jingteng was utterly severed. Mo Xiuchen moved out of the Mo’s mansion, living in a suburban villa looked after by Housekeeper Uncle Liu and Nanny Zhang’s family.

“Mo Xiuchen, actually, Mo Jingteng later asked me to do a second paternity test, just two days before you were kidnapped, but later, when you were injured and returned, I gave him the results, yet he still…”

“Really?”

A touch of desolation appeared on Mo Xiuchen’s lips, perhaps Mo Jingteng thought Gu Yan was deceiving him.

“I think, perhaps your father didn’t believe me, or perhaps your injury made it impossible for him to accept it. Afterwards, he never brought it up again, and his attitude towards you was sometimes good, sometimes bad…”

“Maybe, he indeed hopes I am not his biological son,” Mo Xiuchen said with thick sarcasm, feeling the same way.

If Mo Jingteng was not his biological father, he could hate him less, understanding his hurt towards him and his hatred towards Ranran, everything… he could still comprehend it all.

He composed himself, stood up, and said, “Dad, I’m going to find Ranran now.”

“Alright, go ahead.”

Gu Yan’s face showed a faint smile as he looked down at the paper in his hand, “You no longer need to hold onto this, the grudges of the previous generation have nothing to do with you. Now you just need to live well with Ranran, nothing else matters.”

Mo Xiuchen responded and left the office.

After hearing Gu Yan’s account just now, Mo Xiuchen decided not to delve into the past anymore, regardless of whether his father was Mo Jingteng or not, he didn’t want to pursue it any further.

Just like Ranran said, he is who he is.

**

Happy days always seem to fly by.

Zhou Lin’s daughter was discharged from the hospital after twenty days, and Mo Zixuan rented a house for her not far from the Mo family.

Bai Xiaoxiao had her paperwork for going abroad completed a month later, and two days before her departure, she dragged Wen Ran to go shopping with her.

“Ranran, when I’m gone, you’re not allowed to forget me,” Bai Xiaoxiao cautioned for the 99th time as they shopped at the fashion store in the morning and the mall in the afternoon.

Fearful that once she left the country, she would be cast out of Wen Ran’s memory.

Wen Ran’s brows knitted together in frustration as she said, “Xiaoxiao, how many times have you repeated that now? Even if I forget you, I’ll remember what you said today.”

A look of reluctance crossed Bai Xiaoxiao’s face, “How can you be so heartless, I can’t bear to part with you.”

“I can’t bear to part with you either, but this is for your own good, isn’t it? Two years will pass quickly, and I’ll come to visit you whenever I have time.”

Seeing her about to cry, Wen Ran quickly forced a smile, speaking softly in a soothing tone as if consoling a child.

“Ranran, let’s go over there and look for presents, one for Sister Li’s baby and one for Zhou Lin’s daughter, to help these little ones remember me.”

Bai Xiaoxiao pulled Wen Ran toward the baby products section.

Wen Ran let out a light exclamation, had to put back the items she was holding onto the shelves, and laughingly scolded, “Xiaoxiao, you really are putting in a lot of effort. They’re such little kids. Not to mention if you buy a toy to appease them, even if you called them every day, they wouldn’t remember you.”

They had just reached the baby products section when Wen Ran’s phone rang.

“It’s my brother calling.” Pulling out her phone, Wen Ran told Bai Xiaoxiao, who leaned over to look, and pressed the answer button, “Hello, Big Bro.”

Bai Xiaoxiao smiled and began selecting toys.

The salesperson was helping a young couple choose a baby crib and merely greeted Bai Xiaoxiao, allowing her to pick on her own, too busy to offer a passionate introduction.

“Ranran, I was in the operating room just now when you called. Is something wrong?”

“Ah, it’s nothing now.”

Wen Ran had called Gu Kai an hour ago.

“Where are you now?”

As soon as Gu Kai got back to his office, he immediately returned her call. Now, as he heard Wen Ran say it was nothing, there were other sounds in the background, a woman’s voice that sounded rather familiar.

He couldn’t help but frown.

Wen Ran looked at Bai Xiaoxiao, who was peering at toys, and cheerfully said, “Xiaoxiao and I are at the mall choosing toys.”

“Really? Which mall? I’m free now, I can come and help you choose.”

Gu Kai’s words surprised Wen Ran, but she was pleased, “That would be great, Bro, come over and help us choose.”

The mall they were in wasn’t far from Kangning Hospital, just a few minutes drive away.

Gu Kai arrived quickly; Bai Xiaoxiao was picking out a Snow White for Tiantian, while Wen Ran was eyeing the baby crib that the young couple had chosen.

The pink princess bed, beautifully and elegantly designed, caught her interest. The clerk seeing she also liked it, quickly pitched, “Miss, would you like to take a look at this princess bed? It’s our latest model, and this gentleman and lady also want this one.”

Wen Ran turned her eyes towards the young woman who was also looking her way. She smiled politely at her, glanced at her prominent belly, and then asked the clerk, “Is this model still available?”

“Yes, Miss.”

“Miss, you don’t look pregnant yet. Isn’t it a bit early to be buying a crib?”

At her side, the crisp voice of the woman sounded, and Wen Ran was startled, turning her gaze towards her and smilingly asked, “Are you talking about me?”

“Yes.” The woman nodded, her eyes falling on Wen Ran’s flat belly. Even if pregnant, it wouldn’t be more than three months, “You can wait a few more months, until you’re sure if it’s a boy or a girl, before buying.”

Wen Ran, hearing her say that, couldn’t help but lower her head to look at her own belly and involuntarily placed her hand there, looking forward to the day there would be a little life there. Her eyes curious, she asked,

“How many months are you?”

“Ranran!”

As soon as Wen Ran’s words fell, Gu Kai’s voice came from behind her. She turned around, smiling and waving at Gu Kai.

However, the woman next to Wen Ran stiffened slightly upon hearing that voice, turned her eyes to look, and upon seeing Gu Kai’s handsome face, she immediately turned to the man by her side and said, “Let’s go look over there,” and walked away.
