Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 926: 925 is what I want for myself

“You have to go to work, I don’t want to hold you up,” Wen Ran was touched by Mo Xiuchen’s kindness, and she knew that if she told him, he would make time to accompany her to the hospital for a check-up, no matter how busy he was.

But she did not want to delay him.

Apart from that reason, of course, there was also a small unease in her heart, afraid that there might be something wrong with her body.

Mo Xiuchen, such a shrewd man, surely knew what was on Wen Ran’s mind. She did not voice it, and he did not expose her worries either, but simply tightened his grip on her hand and teased her with a smile, “Ranran, don’t talk about work, in my heart, even I am not as important as you are.”

She was the woman he loved with his life, what in the world could compare to her.

He worked to provide her with the best life possible, but that did not mean he would neglect her for work, not even a tiny bit did he allow.

Wen Ran felt a sudden pang in her nose and an urge to throw herself into his arms.

His seemingly teasing words stirred her emotions like a tide, appreciating their relationship more than ever, especially after they had faced a life-and-death trial and endured months of deep longing before coming back together.

These days, she seemed to be more easily moved, his casual remark, a gentle look from him, could fill her with immense emotion.

This feeling was not something others could understand.

She lowered her eyes, gaze landing on their intertwined hands. His hands were long and fair, with distinct joints, very pleasing to the eye, and she couldn’t help but to cover the back of his hand with her other hand, softly expressing her anxiety, “Mo Xiuchen, I’m a bit scared.”

Mo Xiuchen felt a pain in his heart. With a slight force on his hand, her body was pulled into his embrace, and his other long arm wrapped around her, holding her tenderly and soothingly, “Ranran, is it because I’ve been pressuring you?”

“No, it’s me who wants to have children,” Wen Ran looked up at him with a gentle gaze.

It wasn’t the pressure from him, but rather, seeing Zhou Lin’s adorable daughter that stirred a longing in her heart; she very much wanted to have a baby with him, no, two babies—a boy and a girl.

Mo Xiuchen gently stroked her hair with his large hand, his deep eyes filled with tenderness, “Ranran, there’s no rush to have children. Let’s wait for your health to improve, then we can think about having children.”

He cared deeply for her, and on these nights, even though he knew it was her safe period, he still took precautions, not wanting to take any risks.

In Mo Xiuchen’s plan, they wouldn’t have children this year; at least let Ranran recuperate for a year before considering having children next year.

He had intended to finish his busy work over the next two days and then talk about it with his father-in-law over the weekend, not only to have a health check-up for Ranran but he also needed a re-examination.

Only, he hadn’t expected Ranran to come to the hospital for a check-up in advance.

“Hmm.”

Wen Ran nodded lightly.

Hearing footsteps in the corridor outside the door and the voices of Gu Kai and Gu Yan speaking, Wen Ran immediately withdrew from Mo Xiuchen’s arms and sat up properly.

Mo Xiuchen watched her frantic manner with amusement, the corners of his mouth curving into a pleased smile as he stood up and went to open the door.

He opened the door just as Gu Yan and Gu Kai reached the entrance; Mo Xiuchen respectfully called out “Dad,” and Gu Yan nodded with a smile, happily saying, “Mo Xiuchen, congratulations on recovering your memory.”

Gu Yan had not attended the gathering of the young people the night before.

Mo Xiuchen replied with a smile, “Dad, it’s all thanks to Ranran. She helped me recover my memory.” With that, he stepped aside to let Gu Yan enter the private room.

After the dishes were served, Mo Xiuchen considerately picked food for Wen Ran, removed fish bones, and peeled shrimp for her. Gu Yan watched them with happiness in his eyes and didn’t forget to remind them, “Xiuchen, don’t just focus on Ranran, you should eat more yourself. Don’t be so consumed by work; you’ve gotten thinner and need to rest.”

“I’m fine, Dad. The company work is finished, I’ll take care.”

Mo Xiuchen agreed warmly.

Gu Yan nodded, then said, “Xiuchen, Ranran had a physical examination this morning. Find a day when you’re free to come to the hospital for a check-up, too. I’ll help you both recuperate.”

One had surgery not many months ago, and the other had been injured jumping off a cliff; both needed good care.

“Okay.”

Mo Xiuchen readily agreed with Gu Yan’s arrangements. Seeing his agreement, Wen Ran felt reassured and picked up the bowl in front of him to ladle another bowl of soup for him.

After eating, Gu Yan and Gu Kai returned to the hospital, while Wen Ran left with Mo Xiuchen.

Getting in the car, Mo Xiuchen leaned in to fasten Wen Ran’s seatbelt and said softly, “Ranran, I’ll take you home first.”

“No, I’ll go to the company with you.”

“To the company?” Mo Xiuchen was taken aback, Wen Ran nodded with a smile, her clear, bright eyes gazing at him, “Xiuchen, Dad just said you’ve lost weight, so I’m going to supervise you, you can’t overwork yourself.”

Mo Xiuchen’s eyes sparkled, and his thin lips curled up into a smile, amusement dancing in his handsome brow, “Ranran, don’t worry, I won’t wear myself out, we both need to take care of ourselves, to have two lovely babies.”

“I want to be with you.” Wen Ran insisted.

Mo Xiuchen knew he couldn’t win against her, “Alright, you can be with me, but once we get to the company, you need to take a nap first.”

“And you?”

“Ranran, you want me to take a nap with you, don’t you? I’m afraid that not only will you be unable to sleep, you might end up even more tired.”

Mo Xiuchen’s smile carried a hint of mischief and his voice deliberately lowered, his warm breath teasing her ear and making Wen Ran blush in an instant.

She glared at him and scolded indignantly, “Hooligan.”

“Haha, Ranran, you’re partly to blame as well.” Mo Xiuchen laughed as he sat upright and buckled his seatbelt, then started the car, reversed, and hit the road.

Wen Ran frowned unhappily, “How is it my fault that you love to play the hooligan?”

Mo Xiuchen cast a meaningful glance her way, then turned his head back to look ahead, the sexy corner of his lips lifted in an enticing smile, “Of course it’s your fault, of all the women in the world, I’m not interested in playing the hooligan with them, only with you. Ranran, think about it, why is that?”

“…Are you very wronged?” Wen Ran was speechless for a while, unable to find words to rebut, then intentionally twisted his meaning.

Mo Xiuchen raised an eyebrow, his tone proud and arrogant, “It’s not about being wronged, they just don’t have the ability to seduce me. That’s why, Ranran, you’re the only person in the whole world who can seduce me.”

The more Wen Ran heard, the tighter her brows knitted. What’s all this nonsense, had she seduced him? “When did you see me seducing you?”

“All four eyes saw it.”

The smile at Mo Xiuchen’s lips spread wider, his voice low and imbued with a touch of wicked charm, leaving Wen Ran wide-eyed in astonishment.
