Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 916: Stay a little further away from Ranran

Because of a phone call from Qin Mu, Mo Xiuchen did not let the waiter serve the dishes but waited for him instead.

About ten minutes later, Mo Xiuchen left the private room and went outside to greet Qin Mu.

Less than two minutes after he left, Shen Yuting asked Li Qian sitting beside her if she wanted to go to the restroom. Li Qian shook her head, so Shen Yuting went by herself.

Outside Yi Pin Xuan Pavilion, Mo Xiuchen’s tall and resolute silhouette stood beside the road—his shadow cast by the street lights. Although it was only a back view, Shen Yuting’s heart raced.

She pursed her lips and walked up behind him, softly calling out, “Mo Xiuchen.”

Mo Xiuchen turned around, his deep eyes looked at her indifferently, “Why did you come out?”

Shen Yuting smiled lightly and said, “It was a bit stuffy in the private room. I came out for some air. Mo Xiuchen, are you waiting for Ah Mu?”

“Mmm.”

Mo Xiuchen nodded, his expression impassive, and turned his face away without the intention to chat, looking into the night.

Shen Yuting lowered her gaze, and when she looked up again, her face showed a hint of apology, “Mo Xiuchen, I want to say sorry to you.”

Mo Xiuchen did not turn to look at her again; his profound gaze cast toward the traffic flowing in the night. Shen Yuting felt a little nervous, causing her voice to sound slightly harsh, “Mo Xiuchen, I shouldn’t have said those things to you before, I’m sorry, I was confused.”

“What things?”

The voice of Mo Xiuchen was cold, without a trace of warmth.

Shen Yuting’s face turned pale as she lowered her head and said softly, “Mo Xiuchen, when you had amnesia, I told you that Ranran was lucky to have Ah Mu’s care, and also said that we all hoped that Ah Mu and Ranran would be together.”

“So, you were lying?”

Mo Xiuchen turned his head, his gaze towards her was cool and detached.

“I wasn’t lying,” Shen Yuting also lifted her head, meeting Mo Xiuchen’s cool gaze. Although her heart ached, she forced herself to look at him, “Mo Xiuchen, when you had amnesia, Ranran was indeed greatly taken care of by Ah Mu, especially when she jumped off the cliff, and Ah Mu jumped after her without a second thought. If Ah Mu didn’t also love Ranran deeply, how could he have jumped off the cliff with her when she was strapped with a bomb?”

That was certain death.

Mo Xiuchen’s eyebrows slightly furrowed, and a hint of coldness formed in the depths of his eyes.

Shen Yuting sensed the chill emanating from him and gritted her teeth, continuing, “Mo Xiuchen, if you had never come back, never recovered your memory, perhaps Ranran and Ah Mu could really be together. Even if Ranran still thought of you in her heart, she wouldn’t ignore Ah Mu’s feelings forever.”

“What exactly are you trying to say?”

Mo Xiuchen’s tone was deep as he interrupted her, and anger was already evident between his brows.

“What I mean to say is that Ranran made a poisonous oath because of you. If she gets back together with you, all her loved ones will meet a bad end. Mo Xiuchen, aren’t you afraid?”

Mo Xiuchen’s gaze suddenly turned icy, “Shen Yuting, I forgave your past actions for the sake of Ah Kai. If you spout nonsense again, don’t blame me for being rude to you.”

Shen Yuting suddenly laughed in the face of Mo Xiuchen’s dark and frosty gaze, her laughter tinged with self-mockery and sorrow, “Mo Xiuchen, I know you’ll be angry and annoyed when I say these things, but for Ranran’s sake, I must.”

“Ranran made an oath that she would never be with you again, and now she’s broken her promise. If one day that oath comes true, have you thought about how much she will blame herself, how much she’ll regret?”

“That day will never come,” Mo Xiuchen stated firmly. In his cold eyes, besides anger, there was also a warning.

Shen Yuting wanted to say something else, but a taxi stopped in front of them and the door swung open, revealing the handsome figure of Qin Mu.

“Mo Xiuchen.”

Qin Mu took a couple of steps forward, a flicker of doubt in his eyes as they swept over Shen Yuting. He ignored her, instead stretching out his fist towards Mo Xiuchen.

Mo Xiuchen curved his lips into a smile and raised his hand, bumping fists with Qin Mu in mid-air.

In their mutual gazes, there was deep amusement and the comfort of a long-lost understanding that no longer required any words.

“I thought you weren’t coming back,” Mo Xiuchen said with a cheerful smile, recalling how he had misunderstood Qin Mu and Ranran during his amnesia, which made him feel a twinge of guilt.

Even though he had thanked him that night, he still felt that it wasn’t enough.

Shen Yuting wasn’t wrong about one thing; if Qin Mu didn’t love Ranran as deeply as he did, he would have never followed her off the cliff under those circumstances.

Qin Mu raised an eyebrow, replying with a smile, “How could I miss a meal when Ah Feng is treating? Of course, I had to come back.”

“Ah Mu, if you had left a couple of days later, you wouldn’t have to keep running back and forth.” Shen Yuting chimed in from behind, her laughter carrying in the air. Only then did Qin Mu turn his gaze to her, smiling but not responding to her comment. Instead, he asked Mo Xiuchen, “Where’s Ranran? How come you two are here together?”

Mo Xiuchen’s expression shifted slightly, but he quickly recovered his smile, his tone warm and calm, “Ranran is in the private room with Ah Kai and the others. I came down to see if you had arrived. Let’s go back to the room first.”

“Alright!”

Qin Mu had just taken a step when he heard Mo Xiuchen say to Shen Yuting, “If you have something else to do, you don’t need to go back. Just keep your distance from Ranran in the future.”

He was taken aback for a moment, glancing back at Shen Yuting with curiosity.

Under the dim light, her face turned pale at Mo Xiuchen’s words.

Her body even swayed slightly. Incredulity written all over her face, Shen Yuting looked at Mo Xiuchen with eyes full of pain, “Mo Xiuchen, I know that no matter what I say now, you’ll think I have an ulterior motive. So, I promise you, I’ll stay far away from Ranran, just hoping that, as you said, nothing will happen.”

After speaking, she turned and jogged toward the parking lot.

“Mo Xiuchen, what did she do to upset you?” Qin Mu asked gently as he watched Shen Yuting’s retreating figure.

Mo Xiuchen’s gaze softened as it returned to Qin Mu, gesturing for him to go back to the room first. He explained briefly, “Before I regained my memory, she tried to sow discord and deliberately made me misunderstand Ranran. Just now, she even said that Ranran and I can’t be together.”

“What did she do?”

Surprise showed on Qin Mu’s face.

Shen Yuting had mentioned some things to him before, but he hadn’t taken them to heart.

She’s quite bold indeed, saying such things to Mo Xiuchen, fully aware of his temperament. Wasn’t that deliberately irritating him?

Mo Xiuchen snorted coldly, “I know very well what she’s thinking. I don’t want Ranran to be affected. If Ranran asks about her later, just say Jiang Liu was looking for her and she left with Jiang Liu.”

“Hmm.”

Qin Mu nodded, giving a faint acknowledgment.

He was certainly on Mo Xiuchen’s side. Shen Yuting, to think she wasn’t content with just Jiang Liu and dared to set her sights on Mo Xiuchen. She had already tried this self-destructive behavior once before; apparently, it wasn’t enough for her!
