Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 857: 856 It’s okay even if they’re not boy and girl twins

Wen Ran hung up the phone and when she lifted her eyes, she saw Mo Xiuchen’s deep and ardent gaze. Her heartbeat became slightly erratic, her eyes flickered, and she asked softly, “Why are you looking at me like that?”

Leaning in, Mo Xiuchen whispered to her, “Ranran, I also want a son and a daughter, twins or not.”

“…”

Wen Ran’s eyes widened as she stared at him intently.

Mo Xiuchen chuckled softly, his large hand gently caressing Wen Ran’s hair, indulgently saying, “Ranran, this is just my wish. Don’t be nervous. I won’t force you to have children for me now.”

The astonishment in Wen Ran’s eyes slowly dissipated, and she remembered how, at first, she told him she wanted a child, and he had rejected it due to her health reasons.

...
Late, the things they went through…

Her emotions surged for a moment.

“Ranran.”

Without memories, Mo Xiuchen naturally did not share her complex emotions, but he could sense the shift in her mood, his deep voice inadvertently filled with more tenderness.

Wen Ran pursed her lips and softly called out to him, “Mo Xiuchen.”

“Hmm.”

Mo Xiuchen responded, the corners of his mouth curving into a tender arc, his gaze on her eyes just as warm and profound.

In a voice laced with a touch of heart-wrenching bewilderment, Wen Ran said, “Mo Xiuchen, it’s not that I’m unwilling, it’s just that I’m a little scared.”

“I know, Ranran, don’t think too much about it.”

Mo Xiuchen hugged her into his arms with compassion. He knew that her willingness to bring him to the countryside was a significant step already; he couldn’t expect her to accept him fully all at once.

His long, distinct fingers gently combed through her black hair as his warm, magnetic voice reached her ears, “Ranran, I know what you’re afraid of. I won’t force you. Let’s take it slow, okay?”

“Okay.”

Wen Ran looked up at him, her eyes clear and bright.

She decided to try, step by step, to walk out of the shadow and fear cast by that curse.

“Ranran, I’ll always be with you, whether as your friend or your husband. Don’t feel too pressured…”

The words of Mo Xiuchen gradually calmed Wen Ran’s restless heart. She pursed her lips and revealed a radiant smile, picking up the basket, “Picking so much is enough. Let’s go home.”

“Okay.”

Mo Xiuchen smiled in agreement, took the basket from her hands, his large palm holding her small hand, leading her out of the strawberry greenhouse.

Back at the villa, Wen Ran washed the strawberries and brought them to the living room. Mo Xiuchen lounged on the sofa lazily with a smile in his eyes, warmly watching her.

“Mo Xiuchen, now you can eat them without worry.”

Wen Ran happily fed a strawberry towards his mouth, Mo Xiuchen smiled, elegantly bit into the fruit via her hand, his large palm grasping Wen Ran’s wrist with a gentle tug, pulling her to sit next to him.

She gasped lightly, not yet settled, when the man beside her suddenly leaned in.

“Mo Xiuchen, stop playing around.”

Wen Ran dodged with a laugh.

A deep laugh bubbled up from Mo Xiuchen’s throat, “Ranran, you washed the strawberries, now let me feed you.”

Wen Ran had no choice but to eat the strawberry he fed to her.

If only that annoying ringtone of the phone hadn’t come at the worst possible time.

“Go answer the phone.”

Mo Xiuchen pressed the answer button with his long finger, placing the phone to his ear before extending his arm again to pull Wen Ran closer.

Wen Ran’s body trembled slightly; she made a small adjustment to sit up straighter, cozily leaning against him as she looked up at him with tender eyes.

Mo Xiuchen smiled and lowered his head, his chin resting on top of hers.

From the phone, Luo Haofeng’s voice came through, “Mo Xiuchen, do you have a moment now?”

“If you have something to say, just say it,” Mo Xiuchen replied, his voice calmly indifferent but tinged with a hint of displeasure. Luo Haofeng always had a way of interrupting his intimate moments with Ranran and disturbing their world for two.

Sensing his displeasure, Luo Haofeng felt a jolt of alarm on the other end of the call, Oh heavens, he hadn’t interrupted his moment again, had he!

After a moment of hesitation, still wearing a smile, he said, “Mo Xiuchen, are you with Ranran?”

Mo Xiuchen’s slender eyes narrowed slightly, the strength of his embrace around Wen Ran subtly increased, and his voice, already displeased, now carried an additional edge of impatience, “What exactly do you want?”
