Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 854: 853 Your brother has a very good temper

G City

Wen Ran didn’t return home last night, and Wen Jin wasn’t worried at all.

He knew that Ranran had left with Mo Xiuchen yesterday. Her not coming home meant she was with Mo Xiuchen, and Wen Jin felt genuinely happy for her.

Although his feelings for Wen Ran were somewhat beyond brotherly love, he was very clear in his heart that those feelings he should not have could only be buried deep inside. Ranran only needed him to be a brother in front of her.

If Ranran knew his true thoughts, she would probably stay even further away from him than from Mo Xiuchen.

When his phone rang, Wen Jin had just come down from the second floor. Seeing the caller ID, the corners of his mouth curved into an affectionate arc, and his long fingers pressed the answer button. His voice was clear and gentle as he spoke, “Hello, Ranran.”

...
“This is Mo Xiuchen. Ranran is asking for two days off, someone else will cover her work,” the voice that came from the phone was Mo Xiuchen’s, as imperious as ever, with an air of authority that brooked no resistance, as if he was the true boss and Wen Jin just needed to follow his orders.

Upon hearing this, the affectionate smile at the corners of Wen Jin’s mouth faded, his brow furrowed slightly with displeasure as he asked, “Where’s Ranran?”

Last night, he heard Ah Kai complaining that Mo Xiuchen, that guy, had lost his memory, and yet his possessiveness over Ranran had only increased. He wouldn’t even let him hug Ranran, saying something about how men and women shouldn’t touch each other.

At first, Wen Jin didn’t quite believe it. Does Mo Xiuchen have the audacity to claim Ranran now? He himself hadn’t even gained Ranran’s approval yet.

But now, hearing Mo Xiuchen’s tone, he suddenly recalled Ah Kai’s complaints from last night. It seemed that Mo Xiuchen had indeed stolen their sister the moment he returned.

It was bad enough that he stole her, but this man was also overbearingly imperious, as if Ranran should belong to him alone.

On the other side of the phone, Mo Xiuchen laughed lightly when he heard Wen Jin’s tone, “Ranran is making me breakfast. Wen Jin, you just have to take care of your pharmaceutical factory’s work. Don’t worry about Ranran; I will take good care of her.”

It was the same old line.

There was a time when Mo Xiuchen had said the same thing to Wen Jin, telling him to worry about his pharmaceutical factory and not to worry about Ranran.

“Mo Xiuchen, let Ranran take the call; I have something to say to her.”

Wen Jin’s voice became even heavier. He didn’t need to worry about Ranran’s safety when she was with him.

But as Ranran’s brother, he seemed to need to show some of a brother’s authority. At least, to make this guy, Mo Xiuchen, treat him with a bit more politeness.

“Ranran is busy right now; we’ll leave it at that. If you have something to say, wait until she gets back in two days. Bye.”

Mo Xiuchen’s lips curved into a smug smile. After speaking, he hung up on Wen Jin directly.

He didn’t care that they were Ranran’s brothers.

All he needed to do was to be good to Ranran alone.

Regarding her two brothers, Mo Xiuchen felt no need to treat them with the respect due to elder siblings.

It was also because he knew that no matter how annoyed Wen Jin and Gu Kai might seem, in their hearts, they wouldn’t really get angry, so he dared to be so arrogant.

Wen Ran watched Mo Xiuchen hang up the call, her mouth twitching slightly as she took the phone and asked, “Xiuchen, are you sure my brother isn’t angry at how you spoke to him?”

“No, your brother has such a good temper, he won’t get angry,” Mo Xiuchen disregarded the heaviness in Wen Jin’s tone a moment ago and his lips curled into a pleased smile. The handsome features of his face were illuminated by the smile, becoming even more stunningly charming.

Wen Ran didn’t believe his words at all.

Thinking about how this man had offended both her brothers and not being able to help herself, she laughed again, “Mo Xiuchen, have you now offended both of my brothers?”

Mo Xiuchen’s gaze flitted over the porridge behind her and changed the subject, “Ranran, the porridge is ready. Let’s have breakfast first, water the flower seedlings and fruit trees afterwards, and then pick strawberries.”

“Okay, I’ll stir-fry two vegetables.”

Wen Ran felt that she couldn’t resist this man’s temptations.

Just one sentence from him, one smile, coupled with those tender eyes, and her heart would surrender.

Ten minutes later, the two sat at the dining table, eating the porridge Wen Ran had cooked, along with her stir-fried vegetables. Mo Xiuchen’s eyebrows and eyes were filled with deep tenderness.

“Ranran, you’ve worked hard. Eat more.”

He considerately offered Wen Ran more vegetables, his gaze affectionately on her as she dined, not forgetting to eat himself.

It should seem somewhat odd for him to eat while fixating on Wen Ran.

Yet such behavior from Mo Xiuchen didn’t seem strange at all but instead gave off a feeling of happiness, deeply touching for his tender care.

“You eat too.”

The smile on Wen Ran’s face was clear and beautiful, leaving Mo Xiuchen utterly infatuated.

The phone rang inappropriately at that moment. Mo Xiuchen’s brows furrowed as he put down his chopsticks and took out his phone to look.

Seeing his frown, Wen Ran couldn’t help but laugh. She picked up a stalk of broccoli and put it in his bowl, propping her chin with one hand as she waited for him.

As Mo Xiuchen saw the caller ID, the smile disappeared from his face. Upset that his pleasant mood this early in the morning had been disrupted, his voice carried a touch of indifference as he answered, “Hello?”

“Mo Xiuchen, when are you coming back?”

The call was from Mo Jingteng.

Mo Xiuchen’s expression cooled even further as he stood up and walked out of the dining room before replying, “I won’t be able to return for another couple of days. Is there something you need, Dad?”

At the end of his sentence, Mo Xiuchen added a term of address that sounded stiff.

Wen Ran gently pursed her lips as her eyes tenderly followed the tall silhouette standing in the living room. Even though she couldn’t see Mo Xiuchen’s expression, she could hear the displeasure in his tone.

Mo Xiuchen must have hated Mo Jingteng. Wen Ran gazed at his proud and lonely figure, her heart inexplicably aching. She loved seeing Mo Xiuchen smile and disliked it when he was unhappy.

If hating someone made him unhappy, she would rather he let go and not waste his emotions on someone unworthy, even if it was hatred, which still required energy.

In the living room, Mo Xiuchen’s lips curved into a frosty arc as he listened to Mo Jing ask on the phone, “Mo Xiuchen, I hear you’ve postponed the acquisition plan for Haochen. What’s going on?”

A sneer rose in Mo Xiuchen’s heart, his tone calm and indifferent, “Dad, acquiring Haochen isn’t something that can be done in a day or two. Since the Commercial Trade Building project is soon to be completed and inspected, I can’t afford any mistakes during this time. To avoid Haochen’s retaliation, I’ve pushed back the acquisition plan a bit.”

“Mmm, after the project is inspected, put Haochen’s acquisition at the top of your agenda.”

Although Mo Jing lay on his sickbed, he was still preoccupied with his conglomerate, wanting Mo Xiuchen to acquire Haochen and then, as the next step, to take on Wen’s Pharmaceutical Factory.

“Dad, take good care of yourself. Zixuan and I have the company matters in hand; you don’t need to worry.”

Mo Xiuchen’s voice betrayed no hint of concern, and Mo Jing’s face changed on the other end of the line. Just as he was about to speak, Mo Xiuchen didn’t give him the chance and bluntly said, “I have other matters to attend to. I’ll call you another time.” He then hung up immediately.
