Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 694: Don’t worry, Young Master Qin

This night was destined to be an unrestful one.

Qin Mu had just finished calling Gu Kai and was about to call Wen Jin when his phone rang – it was Wen Jin.

“Ah Mu, I just received a call from Qing Feng. He said that he and Ranran were ambushed on the road back to G City and Ranran was taken away. Did Liao Dongxing and Qin Sen do this, have they contacted you?”

Qin Mu picked up the call, but before he could say anything, Wen Jin’s anxious voice came through.

“Not yet, I just finished talking to Ah Kai and was about to call Liao Dongxing.” As Qin Mu talked on the phone with Wen Jin, he stepped out of his room and headed next door to knock on Luo Haofeng’s door.

“Then you should hurry up and call Liao Dongxing to confirm whether or not they took Ranran. I’m still investigating the cause of the fire at my pharmaceutical factory…”

Wen Jin quickly explained the situation, the things that Qin Mu had guessed, he had also suspected.

When Luo Haofeng came to open the door, he still looked half-asleep with a puzzled look. His sleepy eyes half-closed, he asked with a yawn, “Ah Mu, why are you knocking on my door in the middle of the night instead of sleeping?”

“I should be asking you why a grown man is locking his door?”

Qin Mu glanced at him. He tried the doorknob, intending to enter, but found the door locked.

Without waiting for Luo Haofeng to explain, he said, “Something has happened. Someone set fire to the Wen’s Pharmaceutical Factory. On the way back to G City, Qing Feng was injured and Ranran was taken away. I suspect Liao Dongxing is behind this.”

“Ah, was Ranran kidnapped by Liao Dongxing? Does Mo Xiuchen know?”

Luo Haofeng’s sleepiness vanished entirely, and he looked at Qin Mu with a stunned expression.

Qin Mu shook his head, his voice revealing a hint of melancholy, “Mo Xiuchen was sleeping at the time, and Ah Kai received the call. He doesn’t know yet, but that doesn’t mean he won’t find out eventually. I’m afraid that once he learns of Ranran’s situation, he’ll disregard his own health and rush back.”

Luo Haofeng’s face turned serious.

They all knew that Ranran was Mo Xiuchen’s life, even more important than his own life.

If he knew that Ranran was in danger, he would definitely return.

“Should we call Liao Dongxing first or wait for him to call us?” Luo Haofeng’s brows furrowed, and then he seemed to remember something, “Isn’t Ranran living in a villa in the countryside with Xiaoxiao and Yuting? If she was kidnapped, what about Xiaoxiao and Yuting?”

“They didn’t go back. Last night, when she received a call about the fire at the Wen’s, she had Qing Feng take her back. Xiaoxiao and Yuting were probably asleep and unaware.”

“Who informed Ranran?”

Luo Haofeng asked again. Qin Mu replied, “It was Wen Jin’s secretary. Lu Zhiyan has taken her away for questioning. Whether or not Liao Dongxing admits it, we need to call him first.”

“From G City to A City. There are certain routes they must have taken. If we start checking each intersection now, is there a chance we could find something?” Luo Haofeng pondered. They were in A City. After kidnapping Ranran, Liao Dongxing would undoubtedly bring her to A City.

Qin Mu narrowed his eyes and nodded, “Whether it’s useful or not, it’s worth a try.”

As he spoke, he dialed a number, briefly explained the situation, got the other party’s promise, and then hung up the phone.

“Why aren’t you calling Uncle Qin?”

“In this case, involving my dad would not be helpful. I’ll call Liao Dongxing first.”

As Qin Mu finished, he dialed Liao Dongxing’s number. Luo Haofeng stood beside him with a serious expression, eyes fixed on his phone.

The phone rang several times before being picked up. Liao Dongxing’s voice came with an annoyed tone due to being disrupted from his sleep, a simple, “Hello!”

“Director Liao, this is Qin Mu.”

Qin Mu’s eyes grew cold, and he said in a deep voice.

There was a moment of silence on the phone. Liao Dongxing seemed to be taking a moment to process it all, hesitating before asking doubtfully, “Young Master Qin, what’s this call for in the dead of night? Don’t tell me you can’t wait to see Fu Jingyi? He’s currently on a plane, we were supposed to meet in the evening.”

“Director Liao, don’t you want to get those proofs and properties sooner?”

“And what if I do? You won’t give them to me in advance. Young Master Qin, it’s the middle of the night, I am very tired.”

Liao Dongxing knew Qin Mu’s purpose but played dumb.

Qin Mu cursed inwardly, speaking coldly: “Director Liao can actually sleep at a time like this. It seems all arrangements must be in place. However, I have a friend who was kidnapped. If she gets hurt in any way, even ten Fu Jingyi’s as a trade won’t help.”

The significance of Wen Ran to Mo Xiuchen was known to all. He found no need to pretend he didn’t care, saying plainly: Liao Dongxing will pay a severe price if he dares to harm Ranran.

“What?! A friend of Young Master Qin was kidnapped? Who is this friend, do you suspect it’s my men who kidnapped your friend?”

Liao Dongxing’s series of questions fell on Qin Mu’s ears, and the latter’s expression grew even colder. He sneered, “If Director Liao can help find my friend, I, Qin Mu, will be grateful.”

“Then may I know the name of your friend, and the place she was snatched from? Let me know and I’ll send my men right away.”

Liao Dongxing played the good guy convincingly. Qin Mu took a moment, then told him Ranran’s name. Liao Dongxing responded sincerely, “Don’t worry too much, Young Master Qin. I’ll inform you as soon as I get any news.”

Upon hearing Ranran’s name, he did not mention Mo Xiuchen at all.

That alone was sufficient for Qin Mu to confirm that Ranran was in the hands of Liao Dongxing.

His sense of guilt led him to pretending to not know about the relationship between Wen Ran and Mo Xiuchen. After hanging up, Luo Haofeng immediately cursed, “Liao Dongxing, that despicable man! He captured a woman to threaten us, he’s a despicable person.”

“Liao Dongxing kidnapped Wen Ran for self-protection. He did not believe Fu Jingyi alone would be enough for us to let him go. If we can’t rescue Ranran before our meeting tonight, it will be troublesome,” Qin Mu said, his brows furrowed, and a sense of melacholy in his heart.

Liao Dongxing could pull any trick, and he wouldn’t care, but now Ranran was in their hands…

Although Luo Haofeng was seething with anger, he knew that no matter how infuriated he felt, it wouldn’t change anything. He forced himself to calm down. “Ah Mu, can we keep Mo Xiuchen in the dark?”

“We should be able to, at worst, we can let Mo Xiuchen sleep. The hardest part is the meeting with Liao Dongxing tonight, we need Mo Xiuchen to be there.”

All along, his plan was that once Mo Xiuchen left, he and Ah Feng could meet with Liao Dongxing.

But with Ranran in their hands, if Mo Xiuchen does not show up, they will realize that Mo Xiuchen has reached his limit… either way, wherever Ranran is, Mo Xiuchen must appear.
