Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 652: 651 Send Flowers

Without Mo Xiuchen by her side, Wen Ran had another nightmare.

Awoken in the middle of the night, she sat up from the bed, touched her face, and found it wet with tears.

Thinking about the dream, her heart throbbed, and her naturally pale face looked particularly pale under the lights.

After getting off the bed and drinking a glass of water, Wen Ran laid back down on the bed, but she couldn’t fall asleep.

She picked up her mobile phone from the bedside table, viewing the photos and videos she had taken of Mo Xiuchen in the countryside days ago. The fear in her heart started to fade little by little at the sight of the tender, handsome man smiling in her phone screen.

When she fell asleep again, it was already dawn.

The consequence of insomnia at night is not being able to get up in the morning.

If it weren’t for the ringing of her mobile phone, Wen Ran would have overslept. Rubbing her eyes and picking up the phone, she answered the call in a drowsy voice, sluggishly murmuring: “Hello,”

“Ranran, are you still not awake?”

A warm voice echoed from the other end of the phone.

Wen Ran blinked her eyes to shake off drowsiness, and brought the phone closer to read the time. It was already eight o’clock. “Brother, it’s not time for work yet, why are you calling me?”

“I’m outside your house.”

Wen Jin’s words startled Wen Ran. She abruptly sat up from the bed. “Brother, why are you here?”

After speaking, she yawned and hastily covered her mouth with her hand.

“If I hadn’t come, you’d probably have slept in until noon. Hurry up and get up, I’m here to take you to work.”

Ten minutes later, Wen Ran was sitting in Wen Jin’s car.

“Ah, I didn’t say you couldn’t eat breakfast, why are you in such a rush?” Wen Jin sighed. As Wen Ran fastened her seatbelt, he did up the buckle for her. She was holding a spiced egg, a steamed bun, and a cup of soy milk in her hand.

Wen Ran apologetically laughed, “If you’re not coming in, I wouldn’t feel right making you wait. Brother, why did you think to pick me up today?”

Wen Jin glanced at her, then started the car, “Start eating your breakfast.”

Following Wen Jin’s instruction, Wen Ran began to eat her breakfast. Since Wen Jin had come to pick her up, she didn’t ask Qing Feng and Qing Yang to follow. For her to be able to eat, Wen Jin drove exceptionally slow. Feeling somewhat embarrassed, Wen Ran spoke up, “Brother, you can drive faster. At this speed, we won’t reach the company until nine o’clock.”

The distance to the pharmaceutical factory from her house was not small. With Wen Jin’s current speed, not even covering twenty meters, they would be late to the pharmaceutical factory.

Wen Jin just smiled, unconcerned, and commented lightly, “I’m the boss, no one would dare to say anything if I was a few minutes late. On the other hand, will you be full with just an egg and a steamed bun?”

“Yes, yes, yes, brother, I’m not hungry, don’t find a place to treat me to breakfast.”

Knowing what Wen Jin was about to ask, Wen Ran quickly cut off his words,

“Did you not sleep well last night?”

Wen Jin observed Wen Ran for a moment through the rearview mirror after staying quiet for a while. His gorgeous brows lightly furrowed.

Wen Ran reached out and touched her own face. Was it that obvious? She had only woken up in the middle of the night and hadn’t been able to sleep for three hours.

“I had a dream. After waking up, I couldn’t fall back asleep. Brother, do I look awful? You’re frowning so heavily.”

“Hm, you look awful indeed.”

Wen Jin didn’t hold back in criticizing her.

Wen Ran groaned, pouting a little as she said, “Fine, if I look awful then I look awful. I’ll find time to nap at the office.”

Wen Jin softly chuckled. Seeing her giving him a stern look, he added in a low voice, “You’re not that awful, though.”

“Ranran, why not move back home? When Mo Xiuchen returns, he can go to your home to find you all the same.”

Wen Jin’s smile faded slightly, and a look of concern crossed his eyes. He knew well of Wen Ran’s habit of having nightmares. It was because of this realization, that he had driven over to pick her up early in the morning.

Mo Xiuchen had told him that Wen Ran had remembered everything from those six years. He mentioned that he was worried she would have nightmares when he wasn’t around her. However, he wasn’t sure if Mo Xiuchen had called Wen Ran last night.

“Brother, I’m not going. What kind of married woman lives at her parents’ house every day?” Wen Ran’s words were slurred

due the straw in her mouth.

Wen Jin wanted to say something. His lips moved slightly but he didn’t utter a word.

When they arrived at the pharmaceutical factory, it was already eight forty-five.

Wen Ran’s office was right next to Wen Jin’s. When he walked to her office door, he paused. The moment Wen Ran opened the door, a burst of floral fragrance came out from the office. A bouquet of dazzling red roses was sitting right on Wen Ran’s desk.

At this moment, Wen Jin’s secretary walked over and said with a smile, “President Wen, about ten minutes ago, someone asked the florist to deliver flowers to Miss Wen.”

Wen Jin raised his eyebrows and grunted in affirmation. The secretary then turned around and went back to her to work.

Wen Ran walked into the office, picked up the bouquet of roses, and pulled out a card from it. Seeing the handwriting that was three parts familiar and seven parts unfamiliar, she lightly frowned.

“Ranran, who sent these flowers?”

Wen Jin scanned Wen Ran with an inquisitive look. If it wasn’t Mo Xiuchen who had sent these flowers, then perhaps it was a man who admired Ranran and hoped to seize the opportunity to entice someone else’s wife while Mo Xiuchen was not in G City.

“Mo Zixuan.”

Wen Ran spoke with an indifferent tone uttering a name. She casually threw the card into the trash bin next to her, then looked up at him, “Brother, have your secretary take these flowers away.”

“Mo Zixuan, what’s he trying to do? Could it be that he knows that Haochen is Mo Xiuchen’s company and is trying to retaliate in this manner?”

Haochen was now doing business with MS Group, and both companies were in various kinds of competitive drama and opposition. Mo Zixuan, being so troubled by Haochen, was he trying to set fire in the backyard? But didn’t he realize that he was just making himself look like a clown?

Could Wen Ran and Mo Xiuchen’s relationship be torn apart by just two days of separation?

“Ranran, I will throw these away for you. You should ignore Mo Zixuan.”

Wen Jin took the bouquet of roses and left the office. Wen Ran sat down behind her desk. Just when she was about to turn on her computer, the phone rang.

Seeing the incoming call, her brows furrowed again. She hesitated for a moment before pressing the answer key. With a chilly tone, she said, “Mo Zixuan, if you’re calling to ask if I like the flowers you sent, then let me tell you now, I don’t. Regardless of your intentions, you’d better stop right there. Don’t bother me again.”

“Ranran, I have no ulterior motives. I just heard that you’ve recovered and wanted to send a bouquet of flowers as a blessing.”

Mo Zixuan had expected Wen Ran’s response. Although he was a little disappointed, he had prepared himself for her reaction from the start and was able to calmly explain himself.

Wen Ran scoffed, “There’s no need.”

Who sends red roses as a get-well gift?
