Chapter 2250: Chapter 2249: Biting Fingers

The Third Elder saw that Bai Ruozhu was about to treat her wound and found an excuse to leave, telling Bai Ruozhu that he was going home to pass on a message, saying they would be back soon.

After he left, Jiang Yichun gave Bai Ruozhu a somewhat reproachful look but then remained silent, carefully helping her treat the wound.

Seeing those deep finger marks again, Jiang Yichun couldn’t help but shudder. His fingers trembled as they touched the wound—it must hurt so much for her!

”It’s okay, it will heal after a few days, and I have medicine, so it won’t leave any scars,” Bai Ruozhu said softly.

However, as Jiang Yichun wiped away the blood from the wound and applied the medicine, she was in such pain that even her voice trembled.

Feeling heartache, Jiang Yichun covered her mouth and said, ”Don’t talk, if it hurts, you can bite my hand.”

Saying so, he offered his fingers to her mouth. Bai Ruozhu chuckled lightly, gently bit his finger, and then said, ”It’s fine now, it doesn’t hurt anymore.”

Her gentle bite was like a kitten’s nibble, but it made Jiang Yichun feel her soft, wet tongue touch his finger, heating up his whole body.

His face couldn’t help but flush. He was treating Ruozhu’s wound, and she was injured so badly, how could he be thinking of anything else?

Wasn’t it this mischievous little woman? He asked her to bite him, yet she did so lightly. Was she worried about him or deliberately making him uncomfortable? Such concern would set him aflame.

Bai Ruozhu, having spent so much time with Jiang Yichun, could easily sense his reaction. She suddenly realized her actions might have conveyed a different meaning, and her face grew warm.

Fortunately, Jiang Yichun was looking down while treating her wound and didn’t see her face, otherwise, she would have felt so embarrassed.

Soon, Jiang Yichun finished treating the wound, and Bai Ruozhu fetched clean clothes from Space and changed before releasing Little Dengdeng and a small rabbit.

”Dengdeng, we’re going home, and we can see Grandma and Grandpa,” Bai Ruozhu happily told her son.

Dengdeng stared at his mother’s face and asked, ”Mom, did you get hurt again? Your face looks so pale.”

Bai Ruozhu’s lips twitched, and she looked helplessly at Jiang Yichun, who nodded to indicate that her complexion was indeed quite pale.

Bai Ruozhu grew worried about how concerned her parents might be upon seeing her like this.

She quickly found some rouge and powder, applied a bit of blush to her face. Usually, she didn’t like wearing makeup, but the sudden flush of color made Jiang Yichun a bit dazed. Only then did he notice how skilled she was at it. The blush looked very natural, and her complexion immediately improved.

Bai Ruozhu noticed his gaze and smiled, ”In my place, girls usually wear makeup, and it’s become a bit of a skill. Now that my skin is good and well-maintained, I don’t need to use these things anymore.”

She said this while putting away the rouge and powder into Space, then took out a Western mirror to check carefully, feeling satisfied before taking Dengdeng’s hand and linking arms with Jiang Yichun, saying, ”Alright, let’s go home.”

Jiang Yichun quickly went around to hold Dengdeng’s hand, glancing at her right shoulder and said, ”Let me hold the child, don’t move around.”

Bai Ruozhu chuckled softly to herself—oh, he’s worried about her!

As the family of three approached the Diaojiao Building from afar, several people were already standing below, including the Third Elder, Jiao Yunyun, and Bai Ruozhu’s parents.

Feeling a bit excited, Bai Ruozhu quickened her pace. Jiang Yichun, worried about her shoulder wound bleeding, hurriedly picked up Dengdeng and caught up, whispering a reminder, ”Slow down, be careful not to let the wound bleed and for your parents to see.”

Bai Ruozhu had to slow down a bit, steadying her body to avoid bumping the wound.

”Ruozhu, you’re finally back,” Lin Ping’er greeted her excitedly, grabbing her right hand.

Jiang Yichun’s heart raced as he worried Ruozhu might be in pain. He quickly set Dengdeng down and said, ”Hurry and greet your Grandma and Grandpa.”

Fortunately, the clever little Dengdeng ran over to wrap his arms around Lin Ping’er’s leg, saying, ”Grandma, I want a hug!”

In his heart, Jiang Yichun silently praised his son. Well done, son!

Bai Ruozhu discreetly glanced at Little Dengdeng, suspecting he understood everything. But how could such a young child be so smart?

Lin Ping’er excitedly picked up Dengdeng, carefully examining his little face, and said, ”Our Dengdeng has gained weight and grown taller!”

Dengdeng gave his grandma a sweet kiss on the cheek, saying, ”Dengdeng missed Grandma and Grandpa, and I bought lots of things for you!”

Ah, but unfortunately, the items were in Space, and he was empty-handed now.

After he said this, his face flushed as if he had just been bragging.

Bai Ruozhu quickly patted his head and explained, ”We came in such a hurry; the items are stored in Duanyang City. We’ll retrieve them in the next few days and bring them to you, Grandpa, and Grandma. We bought lots of things along the way!”

Lin Ping’er nodded quickly, ”It’s good you are back safe. Forget about the things. We can talk about them later. You should rest well for a couple of days.”

Bai Ruozhu nodded quickly, knowing it wasn’t a good time to go out or send anyone else out. The fire and thunder outside still needed to be dealt with properly.

Bai Yihong also stepped forward, scrutinizing Bai Ruozhu, frowning as he said, ”You’ve lost weight, and your complexion doesn’t look good. Your face has no flesh. You must recover well this time at home. Let your mother cook some good meals to nourish you back.”

”Alright, I’ll listen to Dad,” Bai Ruozhu didn’t dare directly say that she and Jiang Yichun would be leaving soon, but with her injuries, she might need to recuperate for a while and take this opportunity to spend a few days with her parents and Bengbeng, Tiaotiao.

Jiao Yunyun also came over, holding Bai Ruozhu’s hand, and said, ”Ruozhu, you’ve done a great service for the clan this time, and Grandma is proud of you, but also very worried. Don’t take such risks again. Just protect yourselves, and I don’t need you to make a name for yourselves for my sake. Just your safety is enough.”

Bai Ruozhu understood her grandmother’s sentiment. She knew why her brother went to Enlightenment Tablet and why she had to participate in the trials.

She smiled at her grandma and said, ”We were just getting rid of the menace. If we let You Meng off, it would eventually backfire on us anyway.”

The Third Elder, knowing about Bai Ruozhu’s injury, quickly helped cover for them, saying, ”You must be tired from your journey; quickly go back to your room and rest for a while. We’ll call you when it’s dinner time.”

Bai Ruozhu discreetly gave the Third Elder a grateful look and was about to head to the Diaojiao Building when Fen Jizhi’s voice came from behind.

”Bai Ruozhu, I heard you were injured. How are you really doing?”
