Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 1384: Chapter 1386 Trading for a Secret_1

Bai Ruozhu looked at both of them with a sweet smile and said, ”It’s okay, Madam Diao Mo being all over another man bare, tarnishing her reputation even further, might actually be a good thing.”

”Lin Zhu, you mustn’t mess around, the great elder will not let you off!” Madam Diao Mo’s voice was loud, but the panic at the bottom of her eyes couldn’t be hidden.

”Good, I also have no intention of letting him off, I just wonder whether he will give you another glance after seeing you like this?” Bai Ruozhu’s smile deepened as she walked straight into the dilapidated thatched cottage behind her.

Jianqi hurriedly followed but couldn’t help but cover his nose and mouth, Jin Wanliang’s room was indeed too stinky!

Bai Ruozhu looked at Jin Wanliang cheerfully and asked, ”How does it feel, pretty unbearable, right?”

Jin Wanliang was unable to move, and he glared at Bai Ruozhu as he said, ”Lin Zhu, I know this sickness is your doing, you’re ruthless, but even if I become a ghost, I won’t let you go!”

Bai Ruozhu scoffed, ”If you couldn’t best me in life, what could you possibly do as a ghost? And besides, I was asking about your wife openly cuckolding you, what do you think about that? Do you want me to teach her a lesson for her unchaste behavior?”

Jin Wanliang hated Bai Ruozhu in his heart, but he hated Madam Diao Mo even more, as she had trampled on his dignity as a man, pushing it into the mud. He was not going to live much longer anyway, and he was determined to drag Madam Diao Mo down with him.

”Fine, as long as you ensure she never recovers from her downfall, I will tell you a secret,” Jin Wanliang said.

Bai Ruozhu was surprised in her heart, but her face showed no change, ”What secret could you know? If it’s a big secret and you know it, would you still be alive? I’m not interested in little secrets, it would be a waste of my time to even speak of them.” With that, she turned and walked away.

Jin Wanliang became anxious all of a sudden, ”It’s a big secret, related to the Royal Family of Danliang! As long as you hand over Madam Diao Mo and that adulterer to the Holy Hall, let her be utterly disgraced, I will tell you this secret.”

Bai Ruozhu narrowed her eyes, ”Speak now, otherwise, how would I know you’re not tricking me? I, Lin Zhu, am as good as my word, once you’ve spoken, I will definitely fulfill your wish.”

”If I tell you, would you be willing to cure me of the poison?” Jin Wanliang asked.

”I already said it wasn’t me who poisoned you, how can I cure it?” Bai Ruozhu was not willing to let him off, far from admitting to it.

”Then there’s no way you can help alleviate it?” Jin Wanliang showed a look of pleading.

Bai Ruozhu felt a stir in her heart; perhaps she could let Jin Wanliang live an extra year or two, but in his miserable condition, he wouldn’t be able to do much anyway.

”I can only try, but I’m certain I can’t cure it, I’ve never seen such a strange disease before. It’s not because you know some kind of secret and have been cursed, is it?” Bai Ruozhu said.

Jin Wanliang’s eyes moved, and very soon his eyes showed a hue of anger—it seemed he had taken Bai Ruozhu’s words to heart.

”I’ll find some paper and pen, and write you a formula, but it can only provide temporary relief. Whether you get better or not will depend on your own destiny.” Bai Ruozhu said while searching the room for paper and pen, quickly writing down a formula.

She didn’t rush to give the formula to Jin Wanliang, ”There, you can speak now, right?”

Jin Wanliang was somewhat hesitant, but he did not want to miss any chance to stay alive.

”Over a decade ago, just before the disaster struck the residence of Tang Gui, the hostage of Danliang, four individuals infiltrated my merchant team. By chance, I overheard their conversation. They were determined to kill that bastard child and mentioned that Yang Fei had already come to an agreement with the great elder. I dared not interfere at that time. Shortly after we arrived in Gaochang City, a fire broke out in the Tang residence, and the family of Tang Gui perished accidentally,” said Jin Wanliang.

”Yang Fei?” Bai Ruozhu remembered she had heard of this person before, the Former Emperor’s favorite consort and also the elder sister of Yang Tianhua.

”Yes, that’s what I heard, but I can’t figure out why, probably because the Former Emperor did not trust his brother. However, this matter must have involved the great elder, and you can use this as leverage to blackmail him,” Jin Wanliang said.

Bai Ruozhu reached out and handed him the formulas, ”Good, but if I learn that you are lying, I will certainly have someone take your life.”

Seeing the formulas, Jin Wanliang’s eyes lit up, and he said with an apologetic smile: ”How could I? There’s no need for me to tell lies. We don’t have deep-seated enmity. After all, it’s my fault for not taking care of my child properly. I will not provoke you or Young Master Bai again in the future.”

Ignoring him, Bai Ruozhu handed him paper and a pen, and said: ”Write this down: Diao Mo, under the pretext of tending to an illness, was promiscuous with a Holy Guard. The two of you engaged in wanton acts before my eyes. I implore the Holy Hall to see justice done on my behalf.”

Jin Wanliang could no longer stand, but upon hearing this, he bit his teeth and moved to one side, writing with difficulty. A look of gratification appeared on his decaying face, finally, that wretched woman was about to get her due!

His union with Diao Mo was an arranged marriage; he needed her to facilitate relationships for him in the Western Regions with the position she held in the Holy Hall. In turn, Diao Mo was interested in his wealth, which could support her backing from the Diao Family and cover her expenses within the Holy Hall.

The two didn’t really have a love for each other, but after being humiliated by Diao Mo in that manner, how could he not harbor hate? It was not the first time it had happened that day. Over these days, Diao Mo and that man had shamed him without restraint. He had always prayed that they would receive their retribution, and today, it seemed his prayers had been answered.

The paper that Jin Wanliang had finished writing on was stained with pus from his hand, and it gave off a foul stench. He again asked Bai Ruozhu to take his seal and help him stamp it next to his signed name.

”I’ll arrange for someone to escort you away. If Diao Mo dies, the people from the Holy Hall won’t let you off,” Bai Ruozhu said.

As soon as Jin Wanliang heard this, he could not stop thanking her. He had thought that Bai Ruozhu was going to kill him, but he managed to keep his life.

Bai Ruozhu immediately ordered Jianqi to arrange for people to escort Jin Wanliang back to Danliang Country. She didn’t want Jin Wanliang to die too quickly now, as he might be a crucial witness.

Outside, Diao Mo and the Holy Guard had progressed from cursing to pleading. Diao Mo, learning that Jin Wanliang had written a letter to accuse her, began to beg for Jin Wanliang’s mercy. Unfortunately for her, Jin Wanliang’s hatred for her was bone-deep, and he was certainly not the kind to easily relent, not to mention he had never been one for soft-heartedness.

”Muyu, go and chase the horses back,” Bai Ruozhu instructed, then she stuck the written sheet of big characters onto Diao Mo’s back.

Diao Mo and the Holy Guard were tied face to face, but the ropes were fastened from their sides, linked together with the saddle, so when the horses moved, the two had to follow on foot, or they would be dragged on the ground.

Regardless of how reluctant they were, they were still tied up like dumplings, sidestepping like crabs.

Being so close, they occasionally tripped over each other. At one point, Diao Mo’s leg got tangled up with the Holy Guard, and the two fell to the ground together. With the tug of the horse, half of their bodies were scraped raw.

The Holy Guard realized that struggling alone was useless. In a panic, he started to curse at Diao Mo.
