Chapter 591: Chapter 593: The Poisonous Insect Made the Decision for Her

Bai Ruozhu also knew this topic was awkward, coughed lightly, trying to change the subject. She took out a small porcelain bottle from her person, opened it, and showed it to Elder Shougu, ”Elder, this poisonous insect, I took it off of Li Yi that day. He said that I have some insect poison on me, as long as he has an insect in his hand, he can locate me through it.”

She saw Elder Shougu too suddenly last time and was startled by the Qi-nurturing insect. She had forgotten to ask about this insect. So before she got off the carriage, she took the insect out of her space, planning to ask Elder Shougu about it after meeting him.

”Oh?” Elder Shougu took a look after receiving it and laughed, ”It’s not a powerful insect. The insect poison you got will disappear automatically, and it won’t affect you; it only lets this insect find you. You are lucky you got the poison, it accepted your scent, otherwise, you wouldn’t have been able to take it at all.”

Bai Ruozhu was quite surprised, she thought it wasn’t powerful? How could it be that she couldn’t have taken it at all?

Elder Shougu squinted at the insect again and said, ”This little thing is not very useful, but it does help you a bit, I guess this is fate.”

”Why is that?” Jiang Yichun hurriedly asked.

”If you look closely, you’ll see there’s a red line on the belly of the insect, which suggests it’s not ordinary. It has a suppressing ability among insects of the same level.” He handed the bottle back to Bai Ruozhu while speaking, ”in other words, it can deal with the amnesia insect in Xiaojiang’s body.”

As Bai Ruozhu received the bottle and looked closely, indeed the chubby white insect had a red line on its belly.

She had always been afraid of insects, but with Elder Singh by her side at the moment, she was not worried that the little insect would misbehave. Moreover, she had never raised it before, and it hadn’t eaten anything these days, it was lying in the bottle listlessly, it seemed as if it was about to die.

”If you decide to remove the amnesia insect, just bring this insect to me.” Elder Shougu laughed heartily as he walked towards the door.

All of a sudden, Bai Ruozhu felt like the insect had become a hot potato, with its existence, removing the amnesia insect becomes simple. However, the difficulty lies in whether to remove it or not?

Jiang Yichun walked closer, extended an arm to wrap around her shoulder, and whispered, ”Shall we not remove it? There’s no need to take this risk.”

Bai Ruozhu thought for a while, and reluctantly nodded her head, may god forgive her for being selfish just this once.

Just as she made up her mind and was about to close the bottle, a white shadow flashed before her eyes. Before she could even blink, she saw the white shadow pounce on Jiang Yichun and suddenly drill into his clothes.

”Ah...” Bai Ruozhu cried out, hastily trying to pull Jiang Yichun’s clothes apart to grab hold of the chubby white insect. In her panic, she even forgot about her fear of the insect.

Unfortunately, when the clothes were pulled open, his muscular chest was revealed. The skin was very smooth, there was nothing on it!

”Did it run away or did it burrow in?” Bai Ruozhu screamed in shock.

A wry smile appeared on Jiang Yichun’s face, ”It probably burrowed in, I felt it, but I couldn’t stop it in time.”

Furious, Bai Ruozhu threw the bottle away from her hand. The insect seemed half-dead just the moment before, yet it moved quickly the next moment. It apparently pretended to be dying to trick her!

She promptly pulled Jiang Yichun, ”Let’s quickly go and find Elder Shougu, see what we can do.”

Jiang Yichun’s heartbeat was racing. From the moment the insect entered his body, he felt doomed. He would be forced to recall a past he didn’t want to, and then remember a passion that was amplified by the side effects of the insect, wouldn’t he?

How would he face Ruozhu then? Would he change his heart because of the side effects?

Caught in a whirlwind of thoughts, he was being led by Bai Ruozhu out of the room. Not even reacting to Little Dengdeng, his favorite furry friend, rubbing his chin.

When Bai Ruozhu found Elder Shougu, she recounted everything that happened when the insect suddenly escaped. Elder Shougu looked surprised, ”I didn’t expect that little thing to have gotten so powerful. This is truly unexpected, you don’t have to make a decision yourself anymore, the insect has made the decision for you”.

Bai Ruozhu felt like all her strength had been sapped. She was barely steady on her feet, she looked at Elder Shougu, and asked with a faint glimmer of hope, ”Is there really no other way?”

Elder Shougu shook his head, ”Once it’s in, it’s already suppressing the amnesia insect. Probably in three to five days, the amnesia insect in Xiaojiang’s body will have dissolved.”

”And after dissolving the amnesia insect? What about the insect still in his body?” Bian Ruozhu felt uncomfortable thinking about a big insect suddenly burrowing into someone’s body.

”When it’s done consuming the amnesia insect, it will lose interest in staying in Xiaojiang’s body, it will come out and search for food on its own. I’ll find a way to capture it then.” Elder Shougu answered.

Bai Ruozhu nodded, feeling spaced out for a moment, while Jiang Yichun, standing beside her, seemed lost. Elder Shougu shook his head helplessly. Love was always such a vexing matter, he too didn’t know how to make decisions when he was young, sigh...

The two of them didn’t know how they left Elder Shougu’s room. It was only after Dengdeng hugged Jiang Yichun’s face and kissed him did he snap out it and said to Bai Ruozhu, ”Let’s go, I have a solution.”

Bai Ruozhu was led back to the room in a daze by him. They saw him putting Dengdeng on the bed to play, then he began to grind some ink, and laid out some paper on the table. Soon, he began to write swiftly on the paper.

She walked over to take a look and was stunned.

”The person Jiang Yichun loves the most is Bai Ruozhu...”

”The first time we met, she was a village woman bearing a big belly. She seemed a bit dazed upon seeing me, probably because she thought I was handsome. I just snorted disdainfully then, not knowing that we would be so entwined in the future...”

”I saw her schemes against others, even ridiculed her. Only later did I learn that she was defending herself as well. It was that person who began the rumors and tarnished her reputation, even trying to take her life...”

”After that, I slowly started to pay attention to her. For some reason, I was so nervous when she was giving birth, I even went to see. It was a good thing I did, I saved her just in time when she hemorrhaged.”

”Later, I was assassinated, and she saved me, risking her life. I then realized that this feeling of love had sprouted not only in my heart but also in hers. That’s when I asked her to marry me, never thought she would decline.”

”After that...”

...

His writing moved quickly on the paper, and perhaps because of his agitated state of mind, or maybe he was in too much of a hurry, his handwriting was somewhat sloppy, yet it didn’t diminish the beauty of the words. Very quickly, the paper was filled with every detail of his and Bai Ruozhu’s journey from the first encounter to being hopelessly in love.
