Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 562: Chapter 564: Waiting for him? He is like a useless person now

How old was Xiaosi? Children his age usually cry after a fall, right? But there he was, in pieces, blood seeping incessantly from his mouth, yet he didn’t even whimper.

However, he couldn’t stop coughing, causing more blood to spurt out of his mouth. Despite this, he glared defiantly at Li Yi and his gang, struggling to get back up on his feet.

Bai Ruozhu’s sobs had turned into choked spasms, as she bellowed furiously, ”Whoever dares hurt him, I, Bai Ruozhu, swear to make his life a living hell for the rest of his days!”

Her face now completely drenched with tears and her bloodshot eyes glared fixedly and threateningly at Li Yi in front of her, she looked just like a demon who had crawled out from the deepest pits of hell.

She raised her head and tried to shake off her tears. She then noticed a cold sensation on her forehead and realized that it was snowing. The first snowfall of the year in Beiyu City happened on such a night.

The man who Xiaosi had stabbed was approaching him, intent on beating Xiaosi to death.

Bai Ruozhu glared back with bloodshot, bulging eyes, almost to the point of bursting, ”Li Yi, I swear I’ll never forgive you even in death!”

Li Yi squinted slightly, ignoring Bai Ruozhu. Instead, he turned and said to his men, ”Stop it. Take that kid with you, treat his injuries well, and don’t waste such potential.”

A collective sigh of relief filled the yard. Bai Yihong and Bai Zepei rushed to Xiaosi’s side, struggling to get the knife from his hand. Bai Yihong could barely speak through his sobs.

Li Yi’s men roughly pushed aside Bai Yihong and Bai Zepei, hoisting up the frail body of Xiaosi as though it were a rag doll, and flung him over their shoulder.

”You said it yourself, I’d go with you, and my family wouldn’t be harmed. Let him go,” Bai Ruozhu gritted her teeth and spoke.

Li Yi looked at her and laughed triumphantly, ”Are you sure that once you’re gone, and I don’t hand him over to my men, he’ll definitely survive?”

”That’s all thanks to you!” Bai Ruozhu gritted her teeth with a grinding noise.

Li Yi took out a pill from his pocket and fed it to Xiaosi, who had completely lost his strength and passed out.

Bai Ruozhu sniffled. It was a life-saving pill.

As Bai Ruozhu and Xiaosi were about to be taken away, the Bai Family surged forward. Bai Ruozhu took a deep breath and said to the members of her family, ”This happened because of me. Do not act rashly. Protect yourselves. I will come back alive.”

Li Yi let out a light chuckle by her side. He was either laughing at Bai Ruozhu’s saying ”Alive” or at her saying ”Come back”.

”Ruozhu...” Bai Yihong called out, just when they saw Lin Ping’er being released and violently pushed towards them. He quickly caught her.

”Let go of my daughter, I’ll fight you to the death!” Lin Ping’er, who looked like a deranged woman, attempted to charge towards them, but Bai Yihong and Bai Zepei desperately held her back.

Li Yi grabbed Bai Ruozhu and used his light work skill to leap onto the roof before disappearing into the night, leaving the Bai family glaring at him angrily.

Lin Ping’er collapsed onto the ground and started to sob loudly. Bai Zepei quickly comforted his mother, saying, ”Mother, pull yourself together. Little sister is not as weak as you think. She can protect herself and also take care of Xiaosi. Now, with Ruozhu not here, Dengdeng needs someone to take care of him. You cannot fall apart now.”

Lin Ping’er’s health had never been very good, and it had improved a bit thanks to Bai Ruozhu. But sitting on the cold ground and crying her heart out, she was risking everything, including her health.

Lin Ping’er quickly got up from the ground, rushed into Bai Ruozhu’s room to find Dengdeng, and when she saw that he was unharmed and still sound asleep, she finally let out a sigh of relief. But afraid of waking the child, she bit down hard on her lip, began to whimper and sob again.

The hearts of everyone in the yard were heavy. They all wanted to report the incident to the authorities to get Ruozhu back, but Bai Zepei stopped them, saying, ”I’ll go to the Meng Residence. You all stay and stand guard over the house.”

After finishing his sentence, he turned towards Zhang Liliang and spoke softly, ”Uncle Zhang, I have to trouble you to take more care of my parents.”

Zhang Liliang nodded heartily with teary eyes, ”Hurry up and go. Make sure to bring Ruozhu back.”

Bai Zepei rushed back to his room to get a padded jacket and quickly put it on. He then rushed to the backyard, saddled his horse and set off. He had learned to ride a horse from Wa San these days. Although his riding skills were not great, the horse was an excellent means of transportation for him.

Looking at the horse that little sister had bought for him, he felt a lump in his throat and his vision began to blur.

By now, a thin layer of snow had accumulated on the ground, which would make tracking the villains easier. But if the snowfall continued, the footprints would be quickly buried.

Bai Zepei rode as fast as he could to the Meng Residence. When he called for the gate to be opened and requested to see Lord Meng, the gate guard was initially quite annoyed. But when Bai Zepei sternly stated, ”The Turkic prince has infiltrated Beiyu City. If this event gets out of hand, can you bear the responsibility?”, the guard was so frightened that he ran off to relay the message. Soon enough, a group of riders arrived, led by Meng Liangshen.

”I’ve already sent someone to inform the political affairs office, but what exactly happened?” Meng Liangshen asked.

Bai Zepei quickly relayed Li Yi’s activities. When Meng Liangshen heard that Li Yi was a prince of the Turkic country, his eyes widened. This was not just about the Bai family anymore but also about the safety of Beiyu City and Danliang Country.

”Give orders to the City Gate Guard, do not open the city gate without my command. Guard the city gate well. If a Turkic spy escapes, handle as you would a traitor!” Meng Liangshen ordered the guard.

”The rest of you, divide into two teams. One will come with me to inspect the surroundings of the Bai’s house, while the other will search within the city. Additionally, mobilize more men for the search. We must not let Li Yi escape again!”

”Yes, sir.” The guards responded in unison.

...

Bai Ruozhu was dragged along by Li Yi, one moment leaping to great heights, and in the next moment dropping back down. Coupled with his strong arm gripping her stomach firmly, she soon felt nauseous and began to vomit.

She felt dizzy and extremely uncomfortable. When she realized she had vomited all over Li Yi, she stopped trying to hold back, wishing she could vomit a few more times. If she couldn’t kill him, at least she could make him nauseous too.

As expected, Li Yi showed a look of disgust and raised his hand as if to throw Bai Ruozhu aside, but then he pulled back his hand. He simply tore off the soiled hem of his robe, picked up Bai Ruozhu, and continued to rush forward.

”What, you’re waiting for Jiang Yichun to save you?” Li Yi’s voice floated over to Bai Ruozhu’s ears, ”Give up that hope. He’s almost like a useless person now.”

Bai Ruozhu’s eyelids twitched. Jiang Yichun was just unable to fully utilize his inner strength, making his abilities dwindled. How had he become a cripple? She thought this, but didn’t say it. Because she knew that if she asked, Li Yi wouldn’t say more. On the contrary, if she kept quiet, Li Yi might speak more just to convince her.

”You don’t believe me? Then why is he hiding every day in that old dog Wu Yunfeng’s den? During the process of detoxifying the poisonous insect poison, even the most formidable expert would have their strength suppressed. If they forcefully use their strength, the channels of their body would burst, causing them to die,” Li Yi darkly stated.
