Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 550: Chapter 552: Why Is Everyone Jealous?

Wu Wanqing had inquired about Bai Ruozhu’s affairs. She knew that Ruozhu, like herself, had been married and had a child. She even brought this up with Jiang Yichun, feeling that he would have a certain discomfort in his heart. To her, the child was undoubtedly an obstacle between them.

However, she soon discovered she had been entirely wrong.

Not only did Jiang Yichun love the child, but he was also particularly close to him. The child, likewise, was very fond of Jiang Yichun. But, when did they meet?

Wu Wanqing cast a quick glance at Bai Ruozhu, thinking how skillful this Ruozhu was.

Jiang Yichun had not seen Dengdeng for quite some time, and when he thought of the troubles Dengdeng had suffered due to him, his love for the child only deepened. Dengdeng was quite a character too, he gave Jiang a big, fat kiss, making Jiang’s heart burst with joy.

He looked at Bai Ruozhu, incredibly pleased, and said, ”Did you see that? Dengdeng kissed me.”

Bai Ruozhu, feeling a touch of jealousy, complained disapprovingly, ”He didn’t kiss me when I got home yesterday, what an ungrateful child!”

Jiang Yichun burst out in laughter at her words. With one hand cradling Dengdeng, he used his other hand to stroke the child’s soft hair, praising him, ”Good boy, give me another one.”

Dengdeng, as if understanding his request, nestled against his neck, offering another delightful kiss.

Watching them, Bai Ruozhu fumed. She determined not to bring this ungrateful child next time.

However, her anger quickly subsided when she accidentally saw Wu Wanqing’s expressions. Wu Wanqing looked so austere, her eyes filled with disbelieving surprise. This instantly uplifted Bai Ruozhu’s spirits - her son had helped her vent her anger somehow.

”Let’s go back to the yard. I have got some toys for Dengdeng.” Jiang Yichun said, with laughter in his voice. He extended one hand to Bai Ruozhu, ready to leave.

Bai Ruozhu gave him a smile and said, ”I haven’t greeted Miss Wu yet.” She then turned her head towards Wu Wanqing and with particular, beaming brightness, she said, ”Miss Wu, we will be taking our leave first.”

Only then did Wu Wanqing come back to her senses. She quickly regained her composure, replying lightly, ”Tell the Third Brother to rest well. He is still weak.”

Bai Ruozhu raised her eyebrows slightly. Wu Wanqing’s words held a strange implication. It sounded as if she was suggesting not allowing Jiang Yichun to play too long with the child, or perhaps not to hold the child for too long as it might tire him out. But to Bai Ruozhu, who had heard plenty of spicy stories in her previous world, this held a different meaning completely.

Jiang Yichun looked at Wu Wanqing and said, ”We appreciate your help, sister. We will be heading out now.”

They then made their way out with Jiang Yichun holding Dengdeng, followed by a merry Bai Ruozhu.

Throughout the pathway, the couple were laughing and talking, playing with the child from time to time. Dengdeng’s laughter was enchanting and quickly attracted attention. Some started whispering, the setting appeared very much like a cozy family of three. The child even looked like Young Master Jiang. Could Bai Ruozhu and the child be his wife and son from outside of the Residence?

Thus, after this day, almost all of the guards in the Residence took Bai Ruozhu and Dengdeng to be Jiang Yichun’s wife and son.

When Bai Ruozhu and Jiang Yichun returned to his residence, he held Dengdeng and went straight into the room. He put Dengdeng on the bed. As soon as Dengdeng broke free from Jiang Yichun’s hug, he became upset, pouting as if about to cry.

”Hey, is the brave little man going to throw a tantrum, huh? Don’t cry, I got you some toys.” Jiang Yichun teased Dengdeng and turned around to ruffle through a cabinet. The toys weren’t just purchased yesterday. He had been casually buying whatever he saw fitting but did not mention it fearing Ruozhu would tease him.

Seeing the multitude of toys, Dengdeng was immediately overjoyed. He lay on the bed, touching one toy after another. Some toys were slightly out of his reach, and just as Jiang Yichun thought to help him, Dengdeng suddenly kicked his legs and thrusted his little belly. He managed to scoot forward while still laying down.

Satisfied, Dengdeng reached his toy. However, he seemed to dislike his current position, or perhaps he simply had too much fun scooting, so he continued to push himself forward until he reached the head of the bed. Then he made a few turns in place, returning to his toys.

Jiang Yichun was astonished, asking, ”Does he play like this at home?”

Bai Ruozhu was doubled over with laughter, she said, ”He has been doing this lately. He hasn’t learned to crawl yet, but he figured out this way to move forward. He is quite clever, isn’t he?”

”He’s like a little earthworm.” As Jiang Yichun was speaking, he saw Dengdeng attempting to turn over. Dengdeng seemed to encounter some difficulties and failed to turn over after several trials. Jiang Yichun was going to help him, but was stopped by Bai Ruozhu.

”Let him do it on his own.” Bai Ruozhu softly said.

Jiang Yichun glanced at her and replied, ”You certainly are a strict mother. I’ll have to be the tender father then.”

Bai Ruozhu remembered how Dengdeng favored Jiang Yichun over her. She glared at him and huffed, ”In your dreams!”

Jiang Yichun knew she was jealous and felt particularly pleased. He didn’t know why he would feel so happy when Dengdeng was close to him, perhaps it’s love extending to his loved ones. In any case, he especially liked this chubby little boy.

He put his arm around Bai Ruozhu’s shoulder and said, ”Dengdeng and I have a good relationship, and you’re unhappy? Would you prefer us disliking each other?”

Bai Ruozhu thought about it and agreed with him. If Dengdeng and Jiang Yichun didn’t get along, she would be absolutely distraught. Realizing this, she felt foolish about being jealous.

But having carried the baby for ten months (although she only experienced the latter part of it), and having gone through the pains of childbirth and the struggles of nursing, it was a little upsetting to witness her child being extra affectionate towards someone else.

However, she didn’t let this matter bother her for long. She held onto Jiang Yichun’s hand and asked, ”Were you conscious while purging the poisonous insect’s poison?”

Jiang Yichun wondered why she was asking this. He replied, ”No, I would sink into unconsciousness due to exhaustion midway. My sister woke me up when it was over.”

Bai Ruozhu was pretty sure that Jiang Yichun couldn’t have been conscious. She was willing to believe him on this point.

”So, you would have no idea what Wu Wanqing might have done to you when you were unconscious, right?” Bai Ruozhu raised her eyebrows, looking at him.

Jiang Yichun burst into laughter, ”What’s the matter with you today? First, you’re jealous of Dengdeng, and now you’re jealous of my sister as well. I’ve already explained everything to her. Isn’t she blessing us?”

Listening to his words, Bai Ruozhu’s blood boiled. She yanked her arm away from the one he had around her shoulders, she glared at him, ”So you believe whatever your sister says. But when I bring things up, you say I’m jealous. You know what I just saw?”

Jiang Yichun, knowing Bai Ruozhu was not one to make a fuss without reason, instantly became serious and grabbed her hand again, ”How would I not believe you? What did you see?”

Bai Ruozhu felt a sense of displeasure as she thought back to the scene, ”I saw you lying on the ground, with her caressing your face. Later, she stuffed something into your mouth. Does purging the poisonous insect’s poison require consumption of any medication?”
