Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 525: Chapter 527: Zhuhua, The Divine Doctor

Bai Ruozhu never thought her plan would go so smoothly. Early in the morning, she bought a banner, wrote down the words ”Free treatment, no money taken”, found a spot at the Vegetable Market and set up a table. Then she hung up her banner and started her free clinic.

At first, no one came to seek treatment. After all, she was an outsider and a female doctor. Even those who wanted free treatment were afraid she might not diagnose them correctly, making their conditions worse.

She couldn’t help but worry. How could she quickly build up her reputation? At this rate, it was too slow. Jiang Yichun wouldn’t get the news that easily. The later she saw him, the more danger he was in every day.

She even regretted not having paid a few people to pretend to be patients to attract others. However, it was laughable to think about it. She wasn’t a fraud. She was genuinely offering free medical treatment. Why should she need to use tricks?

Fortunately, an opportunity quickly arrived. A middle-aged man ran towards her, holding a crying child whose hand was bleeding. The child’s wound was severe, blood kept dripping down, leaving a clear trail of blood in their wake.

Upon seeing the severity of the child’s injury, Bai Ruozhu’s heart filled with urgency. She immediately stood up and said, ”Sir, let me stop your child’s bleeding for you. If you keep running to the clinic like this, he will lose too much blood, and his hand may...”

The man’s eyes were red from anxiety, he noticed that the child’s cries were getting weaker, clearly because he had lost too much blood and lacked the energy to cry.

”Can you...are you sure you can save him?” The man saw Bai Ruozhu’s banner showing that she offered free treatments, he was worried.

”I have traveled all over the world to practice medicine, and everywhere I go, my reputation precedes me. I am a disciple of a fairy. My master instructed me to help people and do good deeds. Otherwise, I would not be offering free treatment everywhere,” Bai Ruozhu quickly boasted about herself, knowing that this was a situation where she had to.

Perhaps the words ”disciple of a fairy” had an effect, or maybe the man felt he could wait no longer. He gritted his teeth and ran over with his child.

Bai Ruozhu quickly helped place the child on the table, softly told him, ”Little boy, don’t be scared. You’ll be fine very soon.”

The deep cut on the little boy’s hand was so long and deep that it had cut into his artery. Even his bone was visible.

Bai Ruozhu used a silver needle to stop the child’s bleeding. By this time, quite a few people had gathered around, and some even said, ”Who knows where this fraud from River Jiang came from. Wang Tuhu must have lost his mind from desperation.”

Bai Ruozhu could hear what the people were saying, but she didn’t have the time to argue with them. Looking at the pale face of the child before her, all she wanted was to save his life and his hand as soon as possible.

Someone from the crowd recognized the middle-aged man and couldn’t help but call out, ”Wang Tuhu, what happened to your son? Why is he so badly hurt?”

Wang Tuhu crouched down and started to cry, sobbing, ”I have wronged Kankan’s mother. She gave up her life to save him, and I failed to take proper care of him, I’ve wronged her.”

As he spoke, he became more emotional and kept slapping himself on the face. Everyone could clearly hear the crisp slaps, showing how hard he was hitting himself.

Immediately, some familiar faces rushed forward to hold him. Someone tried to console him, ”Wang Tuhu, calm down. If something happens to you, who will take care of your son Kankan?”

Another added, ”Yes, you’ve raised your son alone all these years, it hasn’t been easy. Even if his mother was alive, she wouldn’t blame you in the slightest.”

While Bai Ruozhu performed acupuncture to stop the bleeding, she had gathered a rough understanding of the situation. After she finished the set of needles, the bleeding on Kankan’s hand temporarily stopped, and he seemed to have regained some strength.

Kankan, feeling weak but alive, told his father, ”Dad, Kankan won’t be naughty anymore.”

Seeing that his son had stopped crying and even started talking, Wang Tuhu quickly got up and anxiously asked Kankan, ”Kankan, are you feeling better? Where does it hurt?”

After asking the question he felt he’d asked something foolish. Where else could it hurt? His hand, where he’d been cut, must be aching.

However, he soon noticed that the wound was not bleeding as copiously as before, and he realized that the woman doctor before him was indeed a miracle worker. Even if he had made it to town’s clinic, it wouldn’t have been so easy to stop the bleeding!

”Divine Doctor, thank you for saving my son. Thank you!” Wang Tuhu knelt on the ground, continually bowing his head towards Bai Ruozhu in gratitude.

The onlookers were stunned, but they soon noticed that Kankan’s hand wasn’t bleeding as profusely as before. The way they looked at Bai Ruozhu completely changed.

Everyone in the market knew Wang Tuhu, he’d been there for many years. His son was his only hope, he wouldn’t risk his son’s life to help someone stage a scene. The authenticity of the situation was unquestionable.

Bai Ruozhu smiled and said, ”No need to call me a Divine Doctor, my name is Zhuhua. You can call me Doctor Zhuhua. I will provide free treatment here for a few days. If any of your relatives or friends need treatment, please bring them over as soon as possible.”

No one knew why the divine female doctor wanted to reveal her real name. Aren’t women usually reluctant to let others know their names? However, nobody thought much about it. They inferred that she was a divine doctor after all, and she couldn’t be compared to ordinary women.

In fact, Bai Ruozhu was worried at that moment. If it were in the past, she would have stitched up Kankan’s wound without a second thought. With such a long wound, it’s only natural to stitch it up for faster healing and to prevent it from opening again.

However, she had offered her suturing technique to the Imperial Court, and they repeatedly emphasized that it was a secret. She couldn’t use it lightly outside, especially under the watchful eyes of such a large crowd.

But if she didn’t stitch it up, the boy’s wound wouldn’t heal quickly. Even if she used the best Yunnan Baiyao, after the acupuncture to stop the bleeding wears off, the wound would start bleeding again.

At this time, people had already began lining up voluntarily, waiting for Doctor Zhuhua to finish her work and examine them. Bai Ruozhu wanted to wipe the sweat off her forehead, but she pulled back her hand. She almost forgot that she had put makeup on her face, and a quick swipe would reveal her disguise.

She thought for a moment, then applied another set of needles to Kankan to alleviate the pain. Laying on the table, weakened Kankan told his dad, ”Dad, it doesn’t seem to hurt anymore.”

”Yes, your aunt will stop the pain with acupuncture first, and then apply medicine later,” said Bai Ruozhu.

”Thank you, aunt divine doctor,” said Kankan obediently.

Bai Ruozhu then cleaned his wound and applied some herbal medicine, but she did not bandage the wound. Then she said to Wang Tuhu, ”I came out today without expecting to encounter such a severe knife wound. My medicine and equipment for treatment are all at the inn. It would take too much time to get them. Wouldn’t it be better if you carried your son and came with me to the inn?”

She then looked at the people lined up and said, ”Don’t worry, everyone. I will be back shortly. Wait here, and I will examine you all when I return.”
