Chapter 529: Chapter 531: Don’t Mess with the Female Doctor

Kankan had been awakened by Bai Ruozhu with an antidote, but he was still somewhat groggy and didn’t really look at his hands.

Bai Ruozhu tested the temperature of the medicinal soup and began to wash Kankan’s wound. This washing was really necessary, not just something she said to scare Wang Tuhu, so she washed it very carefully.

Soon, she finished washing and applied some ointment to Kankan, then re-bandaged his hand.

”As I said before, don’t get it wet, and don’t remove the bandage at will. It can be removed after about three days. The wound may itch a little during this time, don’t worry, that just means the wound is healing,” Bai Ruozhu said as she took out a small box of ointment and handed it to Kankan. Then she added: ”Because the wound is quite large, I used a unique acupuncture technique to accelerate the healing process. However, I don’t want outsiders to see my acupuncture techniques. You should know how to keep a secret, right?”

Wang Tuhu hurriedly said, ”Rest assured, I won’t tell anyone, and I won’t let anyone else see Kankan’s wound. I will just say that the boy is ashamed and doesn’t want to show it to others.”

Kankan also quickly said, ”I will cover it with long sleeves and not let anyone see it.”

”You don’t need to worry. Start applying the ointment in this box every morning and evening after three days. It can reduce the scars. Even if it can’t completely eliminate the scars, it will lighten them a lot. Remember, before the ointment is used up, definitely do not let anyone see Kankan’s wound,” Bai Ruozhu said seriously.

The father and son immediately nodded their heads, swearing that they would definitely not leak anything out.

Many years later, the scars on Kankan’s hands were hardly visible. He finally had the opportunity to come into contact with the suturing technique. He remembered the sight of his wound when he removed the bandage as a child, and then realized that his wound had been healed with suturing. At first, he didn’t understand why the female doctor concealed it. He thought she was just afraid that ordinary people wouldn’t accept suturing. Later, he understood the situation many years ago, and realized that the female doctor had taken the risk of being executed to treat him.

He searched for Doctor Zhuhua for many years, wanting to thank her again, but couldn’t find her. It was not until he came into contact with suturing that he learned the name Bai Ruozhu from the archived medical records of the Imperial Medical Bureau. After a series of thoughts, he finally confirmed that the Doctor Zhuhua he had met years ago was probably Bai Ruozhu.

Of course, this is hindsight now.

That night, Bai Ruozhu still hid in her space to sleep. Fortunately, she never let her guard down. In the middle of the night, three shadows stealthily climbed to the second floor of the inn and sneaked into her room.

She was sleeping in her space, but she had opened the ”big screen” and was able to receive the situation in the room at any time, so when the three uninvited guests started to talk, she woke up immediately.

”Why is she not here? I clearly saw her return to the inn tonight and she didn’t go out again. Did she get the message in advance and leave the town?” one of them whispered. However, you could hear anger and disappointment in his suppressed voice.

Yes, the fat sheep that was almost in the mouth flew away, how could they not be anxious?

Another person looked around the room and said with some worry, ”Did she use some magic to hide? Isn’t her master a fairy?”

The person who spoke first slapped him on the head and said contemptuously, ”Are you stupid? Do you also believe in this kind of thing? This may fool the fools in the village. She, a woman, doesn’t charge medical fees, but she can still buy medicine. She bought more than forty taels worth of silver. She must have a lot of money on her. Otherwise, how could she bluff people?”

”What should we do now if we can’t see her?” the beaten man rubbed his head and asked unwillingly.

”We will hide and wait. I don’t believe she will leave in the middle of the night. Maybe she will come back later. When she does, we will knock her out and steal the silver banknotes and leave!” The leader said through gritted teeth. However, there was a perverse smile on the corner of his mouth. Bai Ruozhu saw this very clearly through the enlarged lens and almost vomited.

Hmph, she won’t be easy to beat. If she didn’t show them some color, wouldn’t she become a soft persimmon that anyone could pinch?

After thinking for a while, she took some sleeping powder and flashed out of her space, quickly spreading it around, and then quickly returned to her space.

Since there was no candle lit in the room, visibility was very low. On top of that, the three men happened to be looking for somewhere to hide, so they didn’t notice that someone had suddenly appeared in the room, and then they fell to the ground in a haze.

The sleeping powder Bai Ruozhu used on them was different from the one used on Wang Tuhu and Kankan. These ones were much stronger.

Seeing that the three men fell to the ground without any reaction, she waited for a while. After confirming that they didn’t have any accomplices, she then left the space and headed straight downstairs, shouting loudly, ”Shopkeeper! Waiter! Is anyone there?”

The shopkeeper and a few waiters lived in the inn to watch the shop. After hearing the noise, they quickly got up. Being woken up in the middle of the night made them a bit grumpy, but as soon as the shopkeeper saw it was the female doctor, he immediately put on a smile and asked, ”What’s wrong, Miss Doctor? Is there anything wrong?”

”Just now, three robbers snuck into my room. They have been knocked out by me. Call someone to tie them up with hemp rope and send them to the government office,” Bai Ruozhu said.

The shopkeeper was taken aback and quickly asked, ”How could someone sneak into the inn? Miss Doctor, you’re not injured, are you?”

Bai Ruozhu deliberately showed a look of disdain and said, ”A few petty thieves can’t hurt me. But such a thing must not be tolerated. The officials must deal with them properly.”

The shopkeeper quickly ordered the waiters to find hemp rope. As soon as the waiters heard that robbers had sneaked in, they immediately raised their spirits. One of the waiters, who admired Bai Ruozhu greatly, rushed to the front and ran to the second-floor room to tie up the men.

Soon, the three robbers were trussed up like pigs. The shopkeeper ordered someone to pour cold water on their heads. In the middle of winter, being poured like this, the three of them woke up instantly.

As soon as they opened their eyes, they saw that there were quite a few people around them and they had been tied up. The three froze and were so scared they were dumbfounded.

”Why are we tied up? What are you going to do?” the timid one of them yelled out.

Bai Ruozhu walked out from the crowd, looked at them coldly and said, ”Why tie you up? You guys broke into my room in the middle of the night, and talked about knocking me out and stealing money. Now you’re asking what we’re going to do? Of course we caught you and are going to turn you in to the officials.”

The man looked at Bai Ruozhu in fear and said, ”Are you a human or a ghost? You were obviously not in the room just now!”

”Are you boasting about your petty skills thinking you could catch me?” Bai Ruozhu deliberately spoke ambiguously. For all anyone knew, she had amazing martial arts skills or some other kind of incredible ability.

”Let’s go, take them to the government office.” The shopkeeper spirited up, daring to cause trouble in his inn, he must kill the chicken to warn the monkey.

The waiters were also invigorated, especially the most enthusiastic one, who ran ahead pushing and shoving the thieves. When they were dragging the three men downstairs, they had already awakened the people in the nearby streets and shops.

Many people, upon hearing that someone was going to rob Doctor Zhuhua, immediately got out of bed. Regardless of the cold mid-winter night, they ran outside and started yelling at the robbers.

Later, no one knew who started it, but they began to throw rotten vegetables at the robbers. This scared the waiters escorting them into dragging the ropes and backing away, afraid of being involved.
