Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

After taking the photos, Dan Yi didn’t leave immediately. Instead, she said a few unwilling words to the men who had dragged Ye Jian and the other two out. As she spoke, she glanced at the three Chinese female soldiers. The words she said seemed to be squeezed out of her teeth. They were sinister and distorted.

The men nodded to show that they understood.

When she left, Dan Yi glared at the three Chinese female soldiers with deep hatred in her eyes. Then, she held her camera tightly and left.

Her departure caused Liu Le’s tense body to collapse instantly. She felt that she had escaped another calamity.

No one cared about the female soldier’s tears. Since the photos had been taken, the men quickly covered their heads once more and dragged them back to the dungeon.

As the iron door closed, Liu Le collapsed weakly on the ground as if all her energy had been sucked out. Her heavy breathing could be heard from inside the dungeon.

Ye Jian moved closer to her and used her body to comfort Liu Le silently. She wanted to tell her not to be afraid and that everything would pass. Zhou Yijin also moved closer to Liu Le, squeezing her body to comfort her.

Perhaps her comrades’ consolation was effective. Liu Le, who was trembling all over, finally relaxed. Gradually, her body stopped moving. Even the gasping sounds of the company subsided.

Her calmness allowed Ye Jian’s tense heart to relax temporarily. Her fingers were writing on the back of Liu Le’s hand. Ye Jian was afraid that she wouldn’t know what she was writing, so Ye Jian wrote very slowly. She wrote comforting words on the back of Liu Le’s hand so that she could relax even more.

[I will protect you. Don’t be afraid.]

After writing this sentence, Ye Jian wrote another sentence. [Our men are outside. We’ll definitely return to the military unit safely.]

Ye Jian spent ten minutes writing these words. Liu Le didn’t manage to guess every single word, but she managed to guess more than half of it. It was enough to dispel more than half of the fear in her heart.

Ten minutes later, a few men brought water and bread over. They didn’t hand the food to Ye Jian and the other two, though. They just took off the balaclavas and forced the food down their throats. The men’s voices were rough as they said, ”Eat.”

Ye Jian didn’t know how long she had been hungry for. She didn’t reject the water and bread that was stuffed into her mouth. When she bit into the bread, there was gritty sand and mud inside. Even so, she ate it bite by bite.

Ye Jian didn’t waste the bread and water that were filled with sand and mud. However, Zhou Yijin and Liu Le couldn’t do it. After Zhou Yijin’s mouth was stuffed with a mouthful of bread, her face turned green instantly. Liu Le started vomiting.

Hearing the sound of vomiting, Ye Jian, whose mouth was stuffed with bread, only managed to say the word ’eat’. Before she could say anything else, she was punched in the stomach. The Burmese man who stuffed the bread into her mouth threatened her in awkward Mandarin, ”Don’t talk. Shut up! If not, I’ll starve you to death!”

He exerted all his strength in his punch. Ye Jian’s abdomen was instantly in pain. It was so painful that Ye Jian’s back arched. She didn’t say anything else. She couldn’t speak anymore. The other party forcefully stuffed the entire bread into her mouth.

It was difficult for her to even chew it. How could she speak?

The beating Ye Jian received made Zhou Yijin furious. She knew that she was the one who implicated Ye Jian. When she saw this, even if she didn’t want to eat the bread, she forced her nausea down and swallowed the bread.
