Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Commander Xia’s breathing got heavier. He pursed his lips and didn’t interrupt Ye Jian. He allowed her to continue.

”A few days ago, I met Yijin at the Nanguang Basic Company. She told me that she’d be going to Yun Province to perform at the border defense company next. She’d only return to the capital city after the performance.

”Recently, the borders of Yun Province haven’t been very stable. Yijin suddenly sent me a message asking for help. I suspect that something happened to her. Yijin definitely isn’t pulling a prank. If she knows that if I receive a message like that, I’ll definitely take it seriously.”

She finished speaking in one breath. She didn’t pause for a single word. She didn’t even take a breath. It could be seen how anxious she was.

Commander Xia was frightened. He knew that Yijin would never play such a prank that would make her family worry. That meant that she must have met danger when she sent the help message!

”Little Ye, don’t be anxious. I’ll contact the leaders of the regiment immediately and confirm which border defense company she went to perform today. Don’t be anxious. Wait for my call!”

It was one problem after another. Zhou Yijin’s help message made people even more anxious than Xia Jinyuan’s situation!

Commander Xia didn’t have the time to feel sad about the danger his only son was about to face. He immediately put his work aside and contacted the leaders of the art troupe.

The arts troupe was in an uproar!

Two female soldiers had been missing for three hours. Their whereabouts were still unknown!

When they checked the surveillance cameras, they only saw two people carrying a child who was knocked down by a motorcycle and crossing the road. They were then directed to a car by two women and brought away.

After that, there was no more news. All the surveillance footage was pulled out, but they didn’t manage to find any vehicle with two female soldiers onboard. At the same time, no pair of female soldiers or a child who was injured by a motorcycle were found in the nearby hospitals!

In other words, this might be a premeditated scheme against the Chinese soldiers!

When Commander Xia sent a call to the military regiment, the leader of the military regiment finally learned that the female soldier in the military regiment, Zhou Yijin, was actually… Commander Xia’s niece. That meant that she was… Minister Xia’s niece!

Commander Xia had a younger sister whose husband was the principal of a military school, and Old Master Xia was the founding father of the country. Zhou Yijin was the niece of Commander Xia and Minister Xia. She was also Old Master Xia’s granddaughter!

The leader of the troupe felt his vision turning black.

He didn’t know the family records of every female soldier in the arts troupe very well. However, if someone really had some connections, he would more or less know a little. However, Zhou Yijin had always kept a low profile in the regiment. He had never heard her mention her family before. Only when something had happened to her did he learn that she was a noble lady!

”We’re already doing our best to investigate. Yes, Zhou Yijin and another female soldier went missing. At 6:10 pm, Zhou Yijin and another female soldier left the camp to go shopping…”

The leader of the cultural regiment reported everything to Commander Xia. They left the camp at 6:10 pm and encountered the child who got knocked down at 6:20 pm. It was 9:20 pm now. They had lost contact for three hours!

Commander Xia told the leader of the art troupe about the help message that Zhou Yijin sent to Ye Jian a few minutes ago. He said, ”According to the message, Zhou Yijin is indeed in danger, but her life isn’t at stake yet. I’ll contact the military district of Yun Province and increase the police force to find the two missing female soldiers!”
