The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

”What do you want?”

Faced with Carson Flores’ negotiating once again, the Starry Sky Magical Beast wasn’t angry. Instead, it asked frankly, because from the conversation just now, it already understood Carson’s temperament.

Having sworn to release him, it naturally didn’t have to fear him any longer.

Carson said straightforwardly, ”You think I’m familiar with Norric and Chi Calamity, want to travel with me, and may need my help to gather information in the future. So, when we’re traveling together, if I encounter danger, you’ll protect my safety. That shouldn’t be a problem, right? After all, only if I safely arrive at the War God Temple can I help you, right?”

Nerisse Blaine and Maedryn Cobb had strange looks in their eyes.

This guy actually wanted to recruit the powerful Starry Sky Magical Beast as a personal bodyguard?

That’s some guts!

The Starry Sky Magical Beast clearly understood this as well, coldly laughing, ”You want me to be your muscle?”

Carson laughed, ”Traveling together means mutual assistance within our capabilities, isn’t that the definition of companionship?”

The Starry Sky Magical Beast was silent for a few seconds, ”So, you provoke those top-tier strong men, and I have to step in for you?”

Carson laughed, ”The Starry Sky Magical Beast is comparable to the powerful presence of a Quasi-Saint. Are you even afraid of those Great Land Prime Immortals?”

Carson’s words were filled with doubt, and the magical beast in the mist suddenly got anxious, angrily said, ”Would I be afraid of them? Even though I haven’t reached adulthood, my strength is not inferior to an adult Starry Sky Magical Beast!”

Not an adult?

Carson blinked and said, ”Maybe we’ll be traveling together in the future. Why don’t you show yourself so we can get to know each other? I still don’t know your name.”

At this moment, Carson seemed like a strange uncle trying to trick a kid. His gentle tone made Nerisse Blaine and Maedryn Cobb look at him with curiosity.

The mist fluctuated, and a voice came out, ”I can reveal my true form, but you must promise not to laugh...”

Carson blinked, ”Relax, we’re all Immortals with tremendous self-control, we’ve seen it all, we absolutely won’t laugh!”

The voice within the mist said ferociously, ”Alright, if anyone laughs at me, I will kill them!”

Carson reminded, ”You just swore not to kill us, don’t forget that.”

”Not killing you doesn’t mean I can’t beat you. Anyone who dares to laugh at me, I will thrash them hard!”

Carson was speechless for a moment, repeatedly emphasizing not to laugh — how funny did it look?

Moreover, such a tone didn’t sound like that of a super mighty figure; it was more akin to a child, sensitive about its appearance being mocked, hurting its self-esteem.

”Fine, fine, since you’re going out, eventually you’ll have to meet others face to face, right? I’ve met Chi Calamity before, and it’s quite intimidating...”

Perhaps feeling Carson’s words made sense, the black Demonic Qi enveloping the body of the Starry Sky Magical Beast slowly retracted into its body, revealing its true form bit by bit.

Carson’s first reaction upon seeing the Starry Sky Magical Beast’s true form was one of shock, followed by wanting to laugh.

Chi Calamity, aside from being gigantic and imposing, inherently looks like a ferocious giant beast, provoking an instinctive sense of awe. Yet the Starry Sky Magical Beast before them looked somewhat different from Chi Calamity.

In appearance, it indeed somewhat resembled Chi Calamity’s form, at least mostly similar. But in size, it was a vast difference.

Chi Calamity was enormous, towering high, but the Starry Sky Magical Beast had the size of a lion, and on its head were a pair of fluffy ears, appearing very cute.

If size were ignored, this Starry Sky Magical Beast might be Chi Calamity’s miniature version, but add those cute ears, and it no longer looked like a mighty, domineering Starry Sky Magical Beast, instead like someone’s adorable pet feline, inexplicably cute.

Carson gritted his teeth to avoid bursting into laughter, while Nerisse Blaine and Maedryn Cobb also had astonished expressions, one instinctively lowered their head, while the other turned to look away, both unable to suppress the upward tug at the corners of their mouths.

This was just too amusing.

It was like a muscular guy wearing cute butterfly ribbons on his head — how could it not be funny?

The Starry Sky Magical Beast’s eyes were locked on Carson and company, a fierce gleam in them, ready to beat whoever dared to laugh.

Carson was silent for a few seconds, adapting to the Starry Sky Magical Beast’s form, yet couldn’t suppress his inner curiosity, ”Forgive my impudence, the Starry Sky Beast Chi Calamity I’ve seen looks somewhat different from you...”

Seeing the three holding back without laughing, the inexplicably adorably quirky Starry Sky Magical Beast sighed in relief, hesitated a while, and finally spoke, ”My father is a Starry Sky Magical Beast, but my mother isn’t...”

Carson suddenly understood. So, the Starry Sky Magical Beast was only half Starry Sky Magical Beast?

No wonder the size didn’t match, and those fluffy ears weren’t right either; this must have taken after its mother, right?
