The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Zorvyn Harrison’s gaze was subtle as he silently stepped forward, carefully removing the web from Nerisse Blaine.

Carson Flores crouched beside them, not looking at them, but focusing on the battlefield situation.

There were many strong individuals on Immortal Gathering Island, and after a chaotic battle, they finally managed to stabilize the situation and gained the upper hand.

Nerisse Blaine’s web was finally pulled off, and she looked at Carson Flores with a nuanced gaze.

”Kaelen, why was that Magic Spider afraid of you just now and didn’t dare attack you?”

Carson Flores chuckled, ”I once met a Starry Sky Magical Beast, helped it with a little something, and in return, it left me a souvenir to scare off magical beasts. It came in handy today.”

Nerisse Blaine looked at Carson Flores in surprise, ”You’ve dealt with a Starry Sky Magical Beast?”

Carson Flores nodded, ”Yes, it was quite an encounter. That Starry Sky Magical Beast is truly huge...”

Nerisse Blaine blinked, her gaze suddenly becoming peculiar, but Carson Flores, looking at the battlefield, didn’t notice.

”We are about to win!”

Carson Flores scanned the battlefield, his face solemn, ”The entire base has been completely destroyed, and many people died. Immortal Gathering Island has suffered significant losses this time...”

Nerisse Blaine nodded, ”Exploring new worlds always comes with unforeseeable dangers.”

Carson Flores pondered, ”I wonder if this attack will bring any changes for us...”

Nerisse Blaine shook her head, ”Although we have a contract with Immortal Gathering Island, it’s ultimately a cooperative contract. We are not part of Immortal Gathering Island. This matter greatly affects Immortal Gathering Island, but for us, the impact is minimal, perhaps even beneficial.”

Beneficial?

Carson Flores blinked, suddenly understanding.

With so many dead and injured, Immortal Gathering Island’s exploration of the new world will be even more understaffed. If it’s to earn Points, it will obviously be easier to earn them.

Carson Flores chuckled, ”Even if Points are easy to earn, I don’t think I’ll be here for long.”

Nerisse Blaine asked, ”Are you leaving?”

Carson Flores nodded, ”I actually have other matters to attend to. Since I’m here, I thought I’d take a look, feeling a bit dissatisfied otherwise. The contract allows for departure at any time, so I came.”

”I’ve seen what I needed to see and understood what I wanted to understand. To accumulate the Points I want, who knows how long it will take. I don’t have the time to waste here, so I must give it up.”

Suddenly, Zorvyn Harrison, who had been listening, spoke up, ”When will you leave?”

Carson Flores replied, ”No rush, I’ll observe first.”

Figures flickered in the front, and Raelith Rhodes and Maedryn Cobb appeared ahead.

”Fairy Blaine, are you alright?”

Nerisse Blaine calmly replied, ”I’m fine.”

Raelith Rhodes gave Carson Flores a complicated look, ”Did Kaelen save you? We saw you trapped in the web just now...”

Nerisse Blaine glanced at Carson Flores, slightly nodding, ”Yes, he saved my life.”

Raelith Rhodes cupped his hands, ”Many thanks to Fellow Flores for your help. We were powerless to protect the Fairy, truly ashamed. I wonder what method Fellow Flores used to drive away that Magic Spider?”

Carson Flores calmly replied, ”A little trick, just good luck.”

Raelith Rhodes saw Carson Flores was unwilling to explain further, though curious, he couldn’t pursue the matter. After all, who would freely disclose their ultimate saving technique to outsiders?

Raelith Rhodes felt conflicted. These days, he’s stayed by Nerisse Blaine’s side, hoping to gain her favor. Sadly, Nerisse Blaine has always maintained a polite, even distant, demeanor towards him. Today, he finally had a chance to be a hero, yet he messed it up.

Even if given another chance, Raelith Rhodes would likely still end up running away.

He doesn’t have the strength to confront the giant Magic Spider head-on!

Nerisse Blaine, with her formidable strength, was also trapped by the web, nearly becoming Blood Food for the giant Magic Spider!

He is not as strong as Nerisse Blaine, if she can’t withstand it, risking his life would be foolish!

A beauty might move one’s heart, but one’s own life is most important.

If he’s gone, what does a beauty matter?

”Where did these Magic Spiders come from, Fairy Blaine? Why did they suddenly appear in such numbers...”

Nerisse Blaine didn’t look at Carson Flores, naturally responding, ”These Magic Spiders came from the Black Demon Cave, but why they emerged is unknown, since no one has ever visited the Black Demon Cave.”

Black Demon Cave?

Raelith Rhodes also noticed the exploration task with a minimum of one hundred Points and a maximum of one thousand Points but never imagined these Magic Spiders came from the Black Demon Cave.

”If they lived in the Black Demon Cave, this many Magic Spiders underground explains why no one who went to explore could return. These Magic Spiders are not only mighty, but can also tunnel underground. If someone went down there, how could they escape?”
