The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

In the abyss, it was as silent as a grave.

The crystal scorpions, which had previously swarmed out of the Sand Sea like a snowball, merging into the pursuit, were now utterly silent, exuding an eerie sense.

Although Raelith Rhodes felt something was amiss, he believed in his own formidable strength. With proper preparation, even if faced with a large group of crystal scorpions, he believed he could escape safely.

He wanted to understand what was happening below, and with so many crystal scorpions, it was a large number of points.

Raelith stepped over the sand dune and abruptly halted, his eyes widening suddenly, a chill rising, making his scalp tingle!

Ahead lay a vast dark mass of crystal scorpions, countless in number. They lay motionless on the ground, and upon close inspection, their heads were all laid down, many even trembling slightly.

Raelith stood frozen, holding his breath, his heart instantly filled with terror.

What is going on?

Why were these powerful crystal scorpions in such a state?

Fear, submission?

Could it be that their leader had appeared?

But even if their leader appeared, at most it should be reverence, not fear, right?

Their trembling bodies clearly indicated they were utterly terrified, so frightened that they dared not move!

Who is it?

Where is Kaelen Flores?

Wasn’t he being chased by these crystal scorpions? Now that the scorpions were intimidated, where was he?

Could he have been killed by that terrifying being?

The crystal scorpions stayed in place, motionless, a seemingly perfect time to harvest, yet the eerie scene kept Raelith from acting rashly.

Rationality told him to retreat quietly at this moment, but curiosity drove him to stay.

What if it was a great opportunity?

Raelith didn’t wait long before a peculiar serpent, wholly black, slithered out from the darkness. It emanated a strong demonic aura, releasing a terrifying suppressive force.

As it appeared, the crystal scorpions became even more terrified, almost burying their heads into the ground, and their bodies trembled even more violently.

Watching the bizarre black snake, Raelith was shocked, yet a sudden thought crossed his mind. If this black snake could intimidate so many crystal scorpions, what if he could capture it?

If it could instill such fear in the crystal scorpions, could it also control and command them?

Then it left just one question: was he a match for this black snake?

Though the snake was not large, the black aura it emitted suggested it was a magical beast, likely a high-order one, meaning its strength was surely not low!

Sensibility suppressed his greed, and in the end, Raelith didn’t dare to act.

If he acted and found himself no match, he might die here.

If he reported this to Immortal Gathering Island, he might get many points.

Just as Raelith was preparing to leave, the black snake let out a low hiss, and the crystal scorpions, previously lying on the ground, let out a sigh of relief, lifted their heads, and swiftly rose into the air.

Raelith was startled—are they dispersing?

Raelith concealed his presence as much as possible, but soon noticed something amiss.

After taking flight, the crystal scorpions did not fly away but floated in midair, completely surrounding the area.

Raelith’s heart sank.

So they had already been aware of him!

He hadn’t fled immediately; what a mistake. He was even contemplating capturing the black snake, and now he was trapped like a bird in a cage.

Raelith didn’t move, as the crystal scorpions hadn’t attacked.

They only sealed the area, staying put, which puzzled him—were they really after him?

While Raelith was confused, light rose from all directions, rapidly forming a massive barrier that sealed the whole area.

Raelith’s heart skipped a beat; how was there a barrier here?

Judging by the way the light rose, it was clearly initiated by an Array Plate, not a magical beast.

A cultivator?

Many magical beast crystal scorpions resided here, plus the enigmatic black serpent, and now a cultivator emerges?

Raelith looked up at the barrier above, his heart sinking into the abyss.

Because he realized this seemed to be a Sealing Barrier, meaning he was trapped in this abyss!

Could the crystal scorpions have taken flight just to block his escape, intimidate him, allowing the hidden cultivator time to activate the Formation and completely seal him?

A trap?

Who was the hidden cultivator, and what was his motive?

A strange thought about the missing Carson Flores surfaced in Raelith’s mind—a curious notion, could the hidden cultivator be him?
