The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 1240: Chapter 1240 We Need to Take the Initiative to Strike!

Greown City still stood!

Carson Flores floated mid-air, looking down at the city below, his face showing the first smile in many days.

Other cities had fallen and been refined, and he was angry, but it was a general anger, not the kind that drilled into the pain for any specific individual.

Carson landed, and as soon as he appeared at the city gate, the face of the cultivator guarding it lit up with surprise.

”City Lord!”

”The City Lord is back!”

The people around flocked towards him, their eyes eagerly fixed on Carson.

Carson had once led everyone here to kill a Wolf Demon and had paid tribute to the City Lord couple hung on the city walls, so all the citizens of this city recognized Carson!

A smile crossed Carson’s face, ”You should have a City Lord now, why do you still call me City Lord?”

The cultivator answered respectfully, ”Deputy City Lord Richard said you are the permanent City Lord of Greown City. He’s just managing in your stead. Even if he’s the City Lord, he is still the Deputy City Lord.”

Deputy City Lord?

That must be Caden Compton from the Vajra Gang.

He had saved his life before; he had given him the Essence Bead that he was to comprehend, and Carson had suggested that he become the City Lord. Firstly, because he was not very famous, and secondly, as a form of compensation to him.

Oh, Caden Compton, Heath Wells, those are the same names indeed.

Carson asked, ”Is he in the city?”

”He is here. Recently, with the invasion of the Demon Race Army, everyone has been worried.”

”Yes, I heard that those who surrender directly fare somewhat better. Anyone daring to resist is facing their entire city being slaughtered, not sparing a single soul. I heard that many cities ahead have already been wiped out.”

”City Lord, what should we do? Although our city is not on the main path of the major Demon Race Army, the demon troops will still sweep through and soon reach us.”

The guards chattered anxiously, their remarks filled with concern.

”Let me understand the situation first, then I’ll make a decision.”

Carson calmed the anxious and panicked guards before entering the city.

Inside the City Lord’s Mansion, Caden Compton looked troubled as he faced Vajra Gang leader Kellan Gentry and Think Tank Jorge Gross.

”Leader, Think Tank, what should we do? Should we fight or defend? If we fight, we aren’t afraid, and if we can’t win, we can run. But I heard that in the northern cities, those who didn’t surrender immediately and resisted were all killed without exception.”

”We might escape when the time comes, but what about the citizens of this city? But if we don’t resist and surrender straight away, on the one hand, that would be unfair to the trust Carson, the Human Emperor placed in us, and on the other hand, even if they don’t kill us now upon surrender, that doesn’t mean they won’t kill us later...”

Kellan Gentry scratched his bald head, his eyes fixed on Jorge Gross, ”Old Zhou has indeed pointed out a real dilemma. We can neither fight nor stand down. Can you make a decision?”

Jorge Gross looked pained, ”Now we have not just this city but a total of eight cities. If we lose, we have to abandon them all. But I think we can take the initiative to attack.”

Kellan Gentry’s eyes lit up, ”What do you mean by taking the initiative?”

Jorge Gross explained, ”Their rule is to attack cities, and if a city resists, they wipe it out. So, we should leave the city and attack them first, making the name of Vajra Gang known. That way, we are no longer linked directly to Greown City.”

”If we can stop them, Greown City will be safe; if not, Greown City can just surrender. It’s the Vajra Gang attacking, so it has nothing to do with Greown City, right?”

Kellan Gentry slapped his thigh, ”That’s a plan! After all, Greown City is a small city, and even the strength of its Barrier isn’t high. If a real army were to press down, even if we all resisted, it’s uncertain we could prevent the Demon Race Army from entering the city. Since that’s the case, let’s take the initiative, battle outside, and if we can’t win, we just run!”

Kellan Gentry grew more excited as he spoke, his eyes red with bloodlust, ”I’ve wanted to kill those demons for a long time, and now I’ve finally got the chance. No matter how this battle goes, I definitely want to see their heads roll, and as long as I’m alive, we’ll clash with them!”

”Taking the initiative, what a great strategy!”

Suddenly, a clear voice sounded from outside the room. Kellan Gentry and the others turned around, only to see Carson Flores descending from the sky with two men.

”Carson Flores!”

”Carson, the Human Emperor!”

Kellan Gentry and the others were overjoyed. Kellan Gentry laughed heartily and went forward to greet him.

”How did you think to come here?”

Carson smiled, ”I had just finished some business in Bei Wu State and heard about the invasion of the Demon Race, so I came back to check. Haven’t you all been telling them that I am their permanent City Lord...”

Kellan Gentry laughed, ”Good, let’s go kill some demons together. With you here, we might even be able to organize a stronger team...”

Carson smiled, ”The stronger our team, the stronger the enemies it attracts. So yes, we need to build a team but only include the real powerhouses to increase the firing power, reduce casualties, and enhance mobility...”

Jorge Gross’s eyes brightened, ”Increase mobility, are you thinking of guerrilla warfare?”

Carson gave a faint smile, ”Exactly, taking the initiative. Your proposal is excellent...”
