The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 1235: Chapter 1235: Am I asking if I look good?

”Beautiful!”

Carson Flores’s mood relaxed after experiencing an emotional rollercoaster.

Cristopher Hopkins was still the person he knew, who hadn’t turned a blind face.

The statuses of the two were extremely unequal, an exalted Immortal and an ordinary Cultivator. In the eyes of an Immortal, ordinary Cultivators were really like ants.

Even the strongest Cultivator was nothing more than a slave in the eyes of an Immortal. Weren’t all the Immortal Slaves commanded by Maggie Fitzgerald once considered prodigies of their time?

Although Carson Flores was a Human Emperor, to Cristopher Hopkins, he was, for the moment, merely a slightly stronger and more promising ant. Crushing him would be as easy as lifting a finger.

For something as intimate as being seen naked to befall someone of her status could lead to world-shattering consequences, rivers of blood. But she gave herself a fright, then lightly let it pass; indeed, Carson was lucky.

Carson also understood what she said afterward. If this matter leaked, whether it was her family or potential suitors, they would indeed kill him to protect her reputation.

As for the two choices she offered him, Carson didn’t take them seriously, but he wondered, if he cowardly or excitedly agreed to marry her and break ties with his wife, what would then await him?

These choices contained a real test of character, after all. Carson didn’t believe she would sincerely want to marry someone who would discard an old love without hesitation for a better new one, someone cowardly and fearful of death.

Perhaps because he helped her, she might not necessarily kill him, but the chances of them becoming strangers were probably quite significant.

After all, a person like that didn’t even qualify to be a companion, let alone a lover.

Perhaps it was because Carson was pondering these recent events that a complex expression crossed his face. The Immortal Fairy, Cristopher, misunderstood and blushed, huffing, ”Don’t get the wrong idea. I’m asking if you think I’m good-looking. I mean right now!”

Carson came back to reality, astonished as he said, ”What I meant was that you are beautiful. The Immortal’s figure, appearance, and temperament are all outstanding. Among the people I have encountered, you are the most beautiful, especially your eyes. They are so vivid they are unforgettable...”

Cristopher Hopkins Immortal saw Carson’s expression and realized she had thought too much. He had not associated his reply with the earlier accident at all; he simply meant she was good-looking and had no ulterior motives.

With such a compliment from Carson, Cristopher Hopkins Immortal was delighted.

Which beautiful woman doesn’t enjoy being sincerely praised for her beauty?

Even praise from strangers can brighten one’s mood, let alone from a friend whom you care about.

A woman dresses beautifully for the one who cherishes her.

Before, whether it was her hand or her head, Cristopher Hopkins Immortal had been in disarray. Even as an Immortal, she was ashamed to reveal herself in front of Carson. Now that she was formally showing herself to him for the first time, she naturally wanted to look her best to change the poor impression he had held.

”You have some taste!” Cristopher Hopkins Immortal snorted, with a hint of pride in her tone, but she could not conceal the smile on her face.

”You can only remember what I look like now. Those impressions of me missing limbs and arms, you must forget them all!”

Carson felt peculiar; this tone, this attitude, indeed every woman loves beauty, and one cannot permit even the memory of past unattractiveness.

Carson answered earnestly, ”Seeing you now, who would recall the past? Besides, you were invisible before; I barely saw you, so what impression is there to speak of?”

In fact, Carson had seen her when the Altar was revealed; he naturally had to look. But Carson didn’t find it scary or ugly; he only felt regret.

Yes, regret.

Whether it was Cristopher’s hand or head, he would marvel at her beauty and lament her fate, enraged at the brutality of her assaulter, yet never finding her ugly or frightening.

Cristopher Hopkins Immortal was pleased with Carson’s response, ”That’s more like it.”

Carson inquired, ”Now that the Immortal Fairy has resurrected, what do you plan to do next?”

Cristopher Hopkins Immortal replied, ”Although I’ve resurrected, my body hasn’t fully recovered. I still need time to rest and heal. Moreover, after my resurrection, Maggie must have felt it and surely sent guards to the realm’s entrance. If I ascend now, it would be akin to walking into a trap.”

Carson, concerned, asked, ”What if she sends someone to guard the entrance and others to come to the Lower Realm to deal with you? What then?”

Cristopher Hopkins Immortal responded, ”The Barbarian Wilderness Realm lacks Immortal Spirit Qi. Even if they come to the Lower Realm, their strength would be suppressed to a very low level, just like yours would be in the Mortal Realm. Even if they come to trouble me, they might not be much more formidable than me. Plus, we have the protection of the Ghost Tower; we are not afraid of them.”

”I also need some time to make more preparations. If I can reestablish contact with the Immortal Realm, things would be much easier.”

Carson nodded, ”So you mean, I should continue doing what I was doing before?”
