The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 1202: Chapter 1202: These are not what I learned from you!

Lilianna Norman lay on a chair, holding a book in her hand, but her gaze was fixed on the sky, ethereal and unfocused.

She was lost in thought.

A few days ago, she had successfully broken through and advanced to the ranks of the Great Demons.

In the past, this would have filled her with immense joy, but now she couldn’t muster the same excitement.

Because the Demon Race and the Human Race were on the brink of war.

Once war broke out, regardless of whether it was the Human Race or the Demon Race, there would be death and destruction everywhere, with countless lives lost to the chaos.

If this had been before, she might have thought that this was a necessary sacrifice for the future of the Demon Race, a worthwhile endeavor, but the current her was slightly perplexed.

The words of that man kept echoing in her heart.

Could the Human Race and the Demon Race truly not coexist peacefully?

Throughout history, the Human Race and the Demon Race had fought countless times. Sometimes the Demon Race won, sometimes the Human Race did, but no matter who came out on top, it was impossible to eradicate the other.

If this was the case, then what was the point of all this bloodshed?

If that guy were just an ordinary Cultivator, she wouldn’t have cared much, but he was the Human Emperor!

Shouldn’t his goal be to lead the Human Race to fully annihilate the Demon Race and become the absolute rulers of this realm? Why would he think like this?

Carson Flores had said that he came from the Mortal Realm and had seen another order of existence in this world.

The Barbaric Wilderness Realm was so vast; the current territories inhabited by the Human Race and the Demon Race compared to the entirety of the Barbaric Wilderness Realm occupied only a tiny fraction. Wouldn’t it be better to coexist peacefully and develop together?

Coexisting peacefully and developing together?

Was that even possible?

Violeta Herrera subconsciously felt that it was unfeasible, but her heart inexplicably filled with longing.

”Your Highness, a Great Demon named Princeton Pearson is at the door, claiming he has just returned from Eastern Emperor Province and brings news from the Human Emperor...”

The Human Emperor?

Violeta Herrera snapped back to reality, her eyebrows slightly furrowing as she said, ”Bring him in.”

Although she was not sure why this Great Demon was seeking her out, she indeed wanted to hear the latest news about Carson Flores.

Soon, Princeton Pearson entered, escorting Carson Flores, while Lilianna Norman, who sat on the lounge chair, casually glanced at Pearson before sweeping her gaze over Carson Flores who was behind him.

Suddenly, Lilianna Norman sat up straight on the lounge chair, her eyes wide with shock!

Carson Flores!

Although his face was masked, Violeta Herrera had spent a lot of time with Carson Flores in close quarters—how could she not recognize him?

Violeta Herrera was inwardly alarmed. Carson’s audacity was astonishing.

Being the Human Emperor, he dared to infiltrate the Demon Nation Imperial City. If the Demon Race learned of this, he surely wouldn’t make it out of the Imperial City alive!

At the moment, Princeton Pearson was also feeling anxious, but he knew that Carson had saved Violeta Herrera’s life before and that they should be friends. His feelings were a mixture of anxiety and wonder.

Here he was, a Great Demon, bringing the Human Emperor to seek the Demon Race Holy Maiden, and the Demon Race Holy Maiden and the Human Emperor were actually friends—maybe even more, given their good looks. Who knew if their relationship had developed further?

Violeta Herrera quickly regained her composure, signaling the Maiden to leave with a wave of her hand before casually casting a Soundproof Spell.

She was unclear about the relationship between Princeton Pearson and Carson Flores, so she feigned ignorance and asked, ”Why are you looking for me, and you mentioned bringing me information about the Human Emperor?”

While Pearson was still pondering how to respond, Carson Flores stepped forward and signalled with his hand: ”Wait at the door and ensure no one comes near.”

Pearson breathed a sigh of relief, bowed slightly, and retreated to stand at the entrance of the garden, assuming the duty of a Guard.

Violeta Herrera’s expression relaxed a bit.

No matter Carson’s intentions, at least she didn’t have to pretend anymore.

And she wasn’t worried; at the very least, she was sure Carson wouldn’t harm her.

Her life had been saved by Carson, and even if he truly intended her harm, she might not resist, offering her life back to him.

Carson’s eyes rested on Violeta Herrera, and he smiled slightly, ”You’ve advanced to a Great Demon?”

Violeta Herrera nodded gently, ”I’ve only just advanced recently. What brings you here? What’s going on with him?”

Carson approached the stone table in front of Violeta Herrera and sat down on a nearby stone bench, his gaze sweeping over Lilianna Norman’s lounge chair before he remarked with a smile, ”Nice chair.”

Violeta Herrera’s face blushed slightly, knowing that such laziness was not characteristic of her. But having spent so much time with Carson, she had come to enjoy the comfort of the lounge chairs he would readily bring out. This had influenced her to get her own comfortable lounge chair upon returning home.

After all, it truly was comfortable for thinking or simply daydreaming.

”I learned it from you!” responded Lilianna Norman boldly, sitting down on the stone bench opposite Carson and staring into his eyes: ”You’ve got guts, showing up at the Imperial City to see me. Aren’t you afraid I might betray you?”

Carson smiled lightly, ”Not afraid.”

”Why is that?” she challenged, ”Remember, I’ve saved you, but you mustn’t forget, I am the Demon Race Holy Maiden and you are the Human Emperor. Your presence in the Imperial City surely indicates schemes that’ll harm the Demon Race...”

Carson shook his head, clearly not tense, ”Don’t worry, I’m not here to engage in any crafty plots. I just need to find a type of Spiritual Medicine and might require your assistance...”
