The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 691: Chapter 691: That Remark Really Hits Home_1

”Dad, you’ve finally ended your retreat. I have something important to report to you.”

Francisco Smith rushed into his father Josue Smith’s room, his tone urgent.

Josue Smith frowned: ”Rushing in like this, how old are you now, and still so impetuous!”

Francisco Smith’s face stiffened slightly, and he quickly subdued the urgency in his expression, explaining, ”The matter is indeed of great importance, which is why I am so agitated.”

Josue Smith leaned back in his chair and nodded slightly: ”Go ahead, what’s the matter?”

Francisco Smith said in a deep voice, ”The renowned Cultivator’s magical treasure, the Water-Fire Mirror, has appeared. It’s in the hands of a new disciple at Flying Waterfall Mountain Peak. His name is Carson Flores. He entered this heavenly realm not long ago through the Gate of Heaven’s Prophecy jade from the mortal world, and he brought the Water-Fire Mirror with him.”

Josue Smith’s face showed a slightly unusual expression: ”And then?”

Francisco Smith looked at his father expectantly: ”This guy and I have some grievances. We even had a fight. That Water-Fire Mirror is too powerful. I used the Sword Gourd, but it was completely suppressed. His Ice Spear even directly pierced through my green umbrella. With the Water-Fire Mirror in his possession, if you were to make a move, perhaps you could take the Water-Fire Mirror for yourself.”

Although Josue Smith’s expression had been normal at first, it became serious after hearing this: ”You have a grudge against him?”

Having not noticed his father’s expression, Francisco Smith indignantly said, ”This guy also likes Killian Jaramillo. He’s always bothering her, and it seems Killian Jaramillo has some feelings for him, too. Her attitude towards him is different from others. I couldn’t stand it, so I went to warn him. Probably because he had the Water-Fire Mirror, he even mocked me, and then we started fighting.”

Josue Smith asked in a stern voice, ”Who made the first move?”

Francisco Smith answered: ”I did. I wanted to teach him a lesson, make him bedridden for a few years, but the power of the Water-Fire Mirror was too great. After one exchange, my green umbrella was destroyed, and I had to run away. Hmph, if it weren’t for the Water-Fire Mirror, I would beat him in minutes!”

After a pause, Francisco Smith eagerly continued: ”Dad, why don’t you take action and snatch the Water-Fire Mirror? With your strength, the Water-Fire Mirror would be like wings on a tiger. Without the mirror, he will be no match for me, and I could handle him however I want.”

Josue Smith looked intently at his son for a few moments, then said indifferently: ”If you like Killian Jaramillo, you can pursue her yourself. Such an outstanding woman, I too hope you can win her over, but don’t take any action against Carson Flores, and certainly don’t lay a hand on him.”

Francisco Smith was stunned, staring at his father in disbelief: ”Why? The Water-Fire Mirror, imagine how Renowned Cultivator dominated the world of cultivation with it. Are you not tempted?”

Josue Smith said calmly: ”The Water-Fire Mirror, who wouldn’t be tempted? However, being tempted is one thing, but acting on it requires sufficient strength; otherwise, you’re just inviting trouble upon yourself.”

Francisco Smith vaguely understood what his father meant, but he was still confused: ”Does it mean that other formidable people are also eyeing the Water-Fire Mirror, and you can’t beat them to it, Dad?”

Josue Smith answered nonchalantly: ”Carson Flores’s master and the Cave Master are friends. Now he has become Delaney Hunter’s junior brother, and Delaney Hunter personally taught him the Three-foot Sword Veil technique. As for the Water-Fire Mirror, when he entered this realm, he had offered it to the Cave Master, but the Cave Master returned it to him. What do you think that means?”

Francisco Smith’s eyes widened in shock and disbelief.

He asked blankly, ”Who is his master?”

Josue Smith replied: ”Wilson Weiss of the fallen Mount Liang heavenly realm. He’s dead, and Carson Flores is his successor, inheriting Wilson Weiss’s belongings and cultivation techniques, effectively his disciple.”

Francisco Smith opened his mouth but couldn’t find words.

He had thought Carson Flores was just a nobody from the mortal realm, easy to bully, so what if he took the Water-Fire Mirror? But in the blink of an eye, Carson Flores became Delaney Hunter’s junior brother and even addresses the Cave Master as his master’s uncle?

His father, the Deputy Sect Master of Crane Sect, a mid-stage Divinity Transformation cultivator, has always been the background he was most proud of. But now, had he been overshadowed by Carson Flores?

The Cave Master, huh, who would dare to provoke him?

Even for Delaney Hunter, with a sword in hand, even the Sect Master would not be spared, let alone the son of a Deputy Sect Master. Would she need a reason?

Josue Smith spoke again: ”Isabel Reid, the daughter of the Myriad Phenomena Sect elder, provoked Carson Flores. She took people to kill him but ended up being killed by him instead. He directly disabled her Golden Core, leaving her a cripple. Isabel Reid herself made a move, only to encounter Delaney Hunter returning. In front of hundreds of Cultivators, she bowed her head and admitted wrong, apologizing. Delaney Hunter even extorted 600,000 Spirit Stones from her, taking away her Demon Bull Drum as well.”

After a pause, Josue Smith looked at Francisco Smith: ”You’d better drop this matter and not make a move against him, because if you really want to deal with him, you have to do it yourself and bear the consequences yourself. I can’t help you. If I were to take action, Delaney Hunter would inevitably intervene. She’s the kind of person who can find an excuse to start a fight even when there’s none, let alone when she has the upper hand.”

Francisco Smith stood there dumbfounded, his mind in turmoil, but an inexplicable thought flashed through his mind.

Now that Carson Flores has such a background, would Killian Jaramillo like him even more?

A pang shot through Francisco Smith’s heart as if a sharp knife had been thrust into it and then twisted viciously.

That’s a bit like a stab to the heart.

How can I deal with him on my own when he has the Water-Fire Mirror?
