The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 680: Chapter 680 What ulterior motives could I have, she’s just pretty_1

”Francisco Smith, do you have business with me?”

Francisco Smith’s expression changed, and he said with a cold laugh, ”Is my name something you can call out directly?”

Carson Flores chuckled, ”Aren’t names meant to be used to address one another? If names aren’t for others to call out, what’s the point in having one? Don’t you also call me by name?”

”Humph, you’re comparing yourself to me?”

Francisco Smith looked on with disdain, ”In terms of strength, in terms of background, how can you compare with me in any aspect?”

Carson Flores smiled and said, ”Did you chase after me just to tell me this?”

Francisco Smith’s gaze was gloomy as he stared directly at Carson Flores: ”What are you doing looking for sister apprentice Delaney Hunter?”

Carson Flores responded, ”This is the Thousand Swords Sect; I’m here at the Thousand Swords Sect looking for disciple Killian Jaramillo. What does this have to do with a disciple of the Crane Sect? Or is it that the Crane Sect is now so formidable that it can interfere with the internal affairs of the Thousand Swords Sect? Or do you have some kind of relationship with Killian Jaramillo that makes you think you can make decisions for her?”

Francisco Smith approached from the back with a sullen expression and an unkind gaze. Carson Flores could roughly guess his purpose in catching up, so naturally, he wouldn’t be polite with him.

Francisco Smith was quite strong, and the Sword Gourd was also formidable, but Carson Flores’s Water-Fire Mirror was just as fierce and overbearing—he certainly didn’t need to fear him.

He had backers, and now, so did Carson Flores!

Who is afraid of whom!

Francisco Smith’s eyes widened. He hadn’t even started questioning Carson Flores, and here Carson Flores was mocking him first?

Was this a slap in his own face?

And to top it off, Carson Flores had preemptively put two big hats on him—if Francisco Smith acknowledged them, spreading the word would naturally provoke dissatisfaction among the people of the Thousand Swords Sect, especially since the Thousand Swords Sect was the strongest among the Four Great Sects of the Nutwood Heavenly Cave!

For a moment, Francisco Smith didn’t know how to respond.

It was common knowledge that he fancied Killian Jaramillo, but Killian Jaramillo had indeed publicly rejected him, making it crystal clear. In other words, his affection for Killian Jaramillo was unrequited, and beyond that, he had no relationship with her at all.

”I am sister apprentice Delaney’s good friend. You approach her with your vile intentions; surely you’re up to something. As a friend, it’s only natural that I should intervene!”

Carson Flores laughed dryly: ”Good friend? Is that a title you gave yourself? Has Miss Jaramillo acknowledged it? You’re trying too hard to gild your own face, doesn’t it embarrass you?”

Francisco Smith felt like he had been slapped on the face again, burning with humiliation. He stared at Carson Flores fiercely and, swish, displayed his own Sword Gourd. The mouth of the Gourd glittered with sword light, exuding chilling Sword Qi.

”Speak, what are your intentions? If you don’t tell me, don’t blame me for being ruthless in my attack.”

If Francisco Smith had asked calmly, Carson Flores might have responded to him calmly, explaining that he was there to return the remains of Elder Jaramillo, and by the way, ask Killian Jaramillo for help in refining a pill. Moreover, he had a wife, so Francisco Smith needn’t worry about any relationship between him and Killian Jaramillo.

But now, Francisco Smith came with an aggressive demeanor, acting as if he would punish and kill Carson Flores if he didn’t confess, which made Carson Flores, who disliked being threatened, respond coldly.

The Water-Fire Mirror appeared in his hand with a swish, with rippling light on the water’s surface and mist rising from it.

”What kind of intentions could I have? She’s beautiful. For a fair maiden, a gentleman is bound to pursue. She’s not your girlfriend; it’s none of your business what my intentions are!”

Francisco Smith’s face turned an ashen blue, Carson Flores’s words completely enraged him.

”Carson Flores, if you’re after Killian Jaramillo, that makes you my mortal enemy. I’ll kill you today, and let’s see who would stand up for you. Don’t forget, we are fellow disciples; Peak Master Cameron Hunter said, ’What happens among peers is their own affair!’”

Carson Flores looked unfazed, speaking indifferently, ”Your way of pursuing someone is truly domineering, planning to kill anyone who fancies her. She’s so beautiful—that would mean you’d have to kill most of the young men in Nutwood Heavenly Cave, wouldn’t you?”

Francisco Smith’s eyes reddened slightly, he leveled the Sword Gourd, pointing it at Carson Flores. From inside, the sword light grew brighter, seemingly ready to burst forth.

Carson Flores said coolly, ”Thinking of killing me? You’d better see if you have the ability to do so. I’ve faced a Nascent Soul Great Perfection tree demon without fear, do you really think I would be afraid of someone in the Golden Core Late Stage like you?”

Francisco Smith’s eyes flickered as he suddenly remembered that dreadful battle.

The Nascent Soul Great Perfection tree demon not only failed to kill Carson Flores but was severely injured by him twice. The power of the Fire Blade was so terrible that the tree demon’s physical body couldn’t withstand it—how formidable must that have been?

If he used the Flying Sword inside the Sword Gourd, would a Fire Blade sweep over his body in that instant?

Could he defend against it?

Francisco Smith felt it was dubious because he didn’t believe he was stronger than the Nascent Soul Great Perfection tree demon—that demon was almost bisected by Carson Flores’s Fire Blade the first time, wasn’t it?

The scene suddenly became awkward again.

Francisco Smith had already shouted his slogans, but when it came down to it, he suddenly felt intimidated.

He was somewhat afraid of the Water-Fire Mirror in Carson Flores’s hand.

Previously, it was the Water-Fire Mirror that allowed him to repeatedly thwart the tree demon’s attacks with branches, leaves, and roots, and even outmaneuver the demon, injuring its true body until finally Delaney Hunter arrived in the end.

Seeing Francisco Smith’s hesitation, Carson Flores sneered, ”What’s wrong? Weren’t you going to kill me? Why aren’t you making your move?”
