The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

Chapter 685: Chapter 685 Punishment? This is not enough!_1

Russell Combs had never even considered that the Green Scaled Shield might fail to block an attack.

As a cultivator at the Mid-Stage of the Golden Core with a Superior Grade Magical Instrument, how could he fail to block an attack from a rookie at the Initial Stage of the Golden Core?

The Fire Blade looked so simple; aside from being a bit brighter and faster than any he had seen before, it seemed unremarkable.

The Fire Blade fell.

The brilliant light rising from the Green Scaled Shield instantly shattered and broke apart.

The Fire Blade struck the surface of the Green Scaled Shield.

At the point of impact, the incredibly hard scales of the shield heated up in an instant, emitting black smoke, and then were penetrated.

Fiery red cracks appeared before Russell Combs’s eyes.

Russell Combs’s eyes widened in shock and disbelief.

Was the Green Scaled Shield truly broken by this strike of the Fire Blade?

It actually couldn’t block it?

Russell Combs wanted to retreat, but the fiery red cracks had already expanded instantly, with intense firelight flashing within.

The Fire Blade broke through the Green Scaled Shield and swept directly across his body.

The right arm that had been controlling the Flying Sword like a sword slipped from the shoulder and fell off, along with half of his shoulder, in an abrupt drop.

Russell Combs stood stunned for a full second before he realized what had happened.

His arm had been sliced off at the shoulder by this strike of the Fire Blade!

”Ah!”

Russell Combs screamed, his hand covering the gushing blood on his shoulder, his face turning as white as paper, his pupils filled with terror.

”Boom!”

The Fire Blade flew out, striking the mountain behind him, and exploded with a thunderous sound.

Not far away, Katherine Reid suddenly covered her mouth with her hand, her eyes filled with terror, looking at Carson Flores as if she was seeing an Evil Ghost who had crawled out of Hell.

Russell Combs was defeated in one move?

A Mid-Stage Golden Core cultivator instantly killed by an Initial Stage one!

What a joke!

There was a whole stage difference!

Katherine Reid felt as if her body had been completely immersed in ice water, her heart beginning to tremble uncontrollably.

Carson Flores walked over slowly, approaching Russell Combs and looking down at him.

Russell Combs looked up, and, backlit, Carson Flores’s figure seemed to merge with the darkness, like a Demon King, eclipsing the sun.

”I’ve lost, I admit defeat...”

Before Russell Combs could finish his sentence, Carson Flores had already kicked him, sending him flying.

Russell Combs’s body crashed heavily against the cliffside, smashing a swath of rocks.

Russell Combs fell to the ground, blood beginning to pour from his mouth.

Carson Flores walked up to Russell Combs: ”Your brother harmed me, you didn’t say a word. Your brother died, and you sought to kill me, all because you felt stronger and thought you could control my life, right?”

In the face of Carson Flores’s cold voice, Russell Combs was filled with fear: ”It was my mistake, I apologize to you, I have already been punished, please let me go.”

”Punishment?”

Carson Flores smiled faintly: ”This isn’t enough!”

With his fingers together like a sword, Carson Flores made a casual flick, and spiritual energy, sharp as a sword, descended in an instant, piercing directly through Russell Combs’s Dantian and striking his Golden Core dead on.

Russell Combs’s eyes were about to split open as he hissed, ”No!”

Under the blow from Carson Flores, the Golden Core vibrated violently, disintegrated, and finally crumbled, transforming into endless spiritual energy that scattered madly.

As he lay on the ground, Russell Combs endured the intense pain of his Golden Core’s collapse, howling: ”You’ve destroyed my cultivation; you might as well have killed me!”

Carson Flores answered indifferently: ”Didn’t you say it yourself? The rules of the mystic realm won’t let me kill you, so experience a lifetime of regret and despair instead.”

Russell Combs was in utter despair; with his Golden Core destroyed, his Dantian broken, his path of cultivation severed, he would never have the chance to cultivate again, and would be a mere mortal for the rest of his life.

No, he was also missing an arm.

He would be a cripple for life!

Russell Combs glared at Carson Flores with a look of deep malice, cursing madly: ”You will die! You will definitely die! My master will not let you go; you won’t end up much better than me!”

Carson Flores asked, ”Your master? Who might that be?”

Through gritted teeth, Russell Combs said: ”My master is Isabel Reid, Elder Reid. She will surely avenge me!”

Carson Flores glanced toward Katherine Reid, whose face was pale as a sheet, and said calmly: ”Katherine Reid’s father?”

”You, a nobody newbie, dared to attack a disciple of the Myriad Phenomena Sect, destroying my cultivation. You will definitely die; you will die a horrible death!”

Carson Flores chuckled coldly: ”Really? Well, let’s wait and see if I’m going to die a horrible death!”

Carson Flores stood up, no longer paying attention to Russell Combs, who was now a broken man.

Katherine Reid, who was trembling all over, saw Carson Flores turn his head toward her: ”Don’t come any closer, I’ve already sent a message to my father, he will be here any moment!”

Russell Combs, bloodied on the ground, called out with a resentful tone: ”Carson Flores, even if you have a powerful magical treasure, you are no match for my master. I’ll be waiting to see you become like me, no, even worse off than me!”

Carson Flores frowned slightly and waved his hand dismissively.

”Slap!”

An invisible slap landed directly on Russell Combs’s face.

Russell Combs spat out blood along with a few stark white teeth.

But Russell Combs was already bordering on hysteria: ”Come on then, if you have the guts, kill me. I want to see if you’ll die later...”
