Chapter 416: Chapter 255: Too Late to Regret! Wu Ting’s Grand Move

It was a furious tirade right from the start!

”Li Tian, what the hell have you been doing? How did you manage to offend Director Fu and Dean Chen?!”

”Two calls, one after the other. First, Director Fu called me. After giving his diagnosis, he refused to do the surgery, saying his skills weren’t up to par and he wasn’t confident he could succeed.”

”A little while later, Dean Chen called me too. He didn’t even come to take a look. He just said that if even Director Wu wouldn’t do the surgery, his team wasn’t capable of taking it on either. He told me to find someone better!”

”What the hell happened? And who is this Director Wu? Did you piss him off?”

Li Nian’s words made Li Tian break out in a cold sweat.

Yang Bao, who was beside him, looked even more distressed.

Li Tian could only confess obediently:

”Dad, I honestly had no idea that Director Wu from Fan City First Hospital was so influential in the field of Hepatic Tumor Surgery. If I’d known how powerful he was, do you think I would’ve tried to brush him off with just one or two hundred thousand?”

”Dad, what do we do now?”

Li Tian never imagined that a single Wu Ting could put him in such a helpless position. It wasn’t just about Wu Ting; the real problem was that he seemed to have offended the entire circle of renowned liver tumor specialists in Xiao City and Xianglin City.

Li Nian quickly came up with a plan:

”Right now, there are two paths. The first is to have Dean Chen and Director Fu mediate. I’ll take you to apologize to Director Wu in person. Then, we’ll sincerely invite Director Wu to perform Yang Bao’s surgery.”

”The second path is for you two to go abroad for treatment at the best hospital you can find. It’ll just be more of a hassle and cost more money.”

After hearing his father’s words, Li Tian glanced at Yang Bao and chose the second option without hesitation:

”Dad, the experts abroad are definitely better anyway. Our relationship with this Director Wu is already terrible. Even if we managed to get him to do the surgery, it would cost a fortune. We might as well go to a top-tier hospital abroad for treatment.”

”There’s no way those top foreign hospitals are all worse than this Director Wu from Fan City.”

If they could get treatment within the country, Li Tian and Yang Bao would certainly have preferred not to go abroad. It was troublesome, inconvenient, and they wouldn’t feel as secure in a foreign hospital.

But since things had already gotten so ugly with the circle of elite surgeons in Xiao City, there was no point in going elsewhere. The skill level at Qinghe City Hospital wasn’t that much different from the top doctors in Xianglin City and Xiao City anyway.

So they might as well spend the extra money and get the surgery done abroad.

Hearing Li Tian’s plan for her to receive the most advanced treatment abroad, Yang Bao felt it was a blessing in disguise.

After hearing the final decision from his son and future daughter-in-law, Li Nian cursed Li Tian a few times but still agreed to send them abroad for treatment.

In truth, Li Nian also felt that Director Fu’s and Dean Chen’s praise was a bit exaggerated. They had described Wu Ting’s new treatment technique as the best radical cure to date, one that even foreign countries couldn’t match.

This left him feeling annoyed and unconvinced.

Being rejected twice in a row had also left him feeling humiliated and angry, but he didn’t dare offend the two senior directors.

Besides, she was only his future daughter-in-law. He wasn’t willing to swallow his pride and go apologize to this Director Wu.

If it were Li Tian who was about to kick the bucket and Wu Ting was the only one who could save him, then he would have no choice but to make a trip to Fan City First Hospital.

”Alright, that settles it for today. I’ll transfer the money for Yang Bao’s treatment in the Southern Country and your daily expenses to your card.”

”Li Tian, you need to seriously change your ways. Can’t you be a little more low-key and humble when dealing with people? Stop causing me unnecessary trouble.”

Li Nian angrily hung up the phone.

Li Tian and Yang Bao hugged, and he comforted her:

”Bao, let’s just think of it as a trip abroad.”

In the end, under Li Nian’s arrangement, they chose to receive treatment at the international department of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Southern Country.

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Southern Country, was one of the first three comprehensive cancer centers in the Southern Country. It is widely considered one of the most important cancer hospitals in the world, with its cancer treatment rankings even surpassing the Mayo Clinic, which was much more well-known in their home country.

Its international department regularly treated political dignitaries and business elites from various nations, including the Jin Country.

It cost Li Nian a considerable price to get Yang Bao admitted for treatment.

The MD Anderson Cancer Center was notorious for its exorbitant fees, which were more than three times those of an ordinary hospital in the Southern Country.

The hospital held a global advantage in tumor treatment: patients there could use the latest oncology drugs years before they were available to the rest of the world. This was because it was the world’s largest clinical trial base for cancer drugs, and most oncology medications were commercialized after completing clinical trials at Anderson.

Domestic hospitals, even if their techniques were up to par, would always be several years behind on new drugs. Could they seriously dream of developing their own original pharmaceuticals?

The Sorafenib from Pfizer Pharmaceutical at the time had undergone clinical trials at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. However, before the research was fully completed, Xie Bin and Xu Kunlin falsified the data and had it released prematurely onto the domestic market.

Currently, at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, there was indeed a research team working on treatments for primary liver cancer, with grand ambitions.

The team’s lead doctor had also drawn inspiration and ideas from Wu Ting’s article in *Cell*.
