Doctor: I Can Synthesize Infinite Entries

Chapter 414: Chapter 254: It’s a Deal

”With the Medical College’s success story, plus the faculty and students spreading the word, just wait. The next time we want to launch a project, you think those other schools won’t be tripping over themselves to work with us?”

Hearing Deng Feifei’s plan, Wu Ting’s eyes lit up as well.

He immediately had Deng Feifei work overtime with him to draft a brand-new collaboration agreement, a recruitment notice for the research group, and the investment amount for the scientific research fund.

After Wu Ting sent these documents to President Liang for review, President Liang gave his full support, replying directly that he would match whatever amount Wu Ting invested!

With President Liang’s full support, Wu Ting picked an opportune day and sent the collaboration agreement, the related research team recruitment notice, and the research fund investment amount to Dean Duan of the Medical College.

After receiving the entire collaboration package, Dean Duan was stunned for a long moment, then overcome with ecstatic joy.

Dean Duan was also looking forward to seeing whether the computer science department that had rejected Wu Ting would regret its decision once these details were announced. After all, funding and compensation for faculty and students in these kinds of joint academic-corporate projects were typically modest. A move as lavish as Wu Ting’s was truly rare!

Dean Duan just had to wait for the next regular meeting to bring it up.

「Xiao City Xin’an International Hospital.」

Yang Bao and Li Tian were waiting nervously.

Today was the day Director Fu Jinfen’s team was scheduled to arrive. They were from the Hepatic Tumor Surgery department at Jinggang University Affiliated First Hospital, and Li Tian’s father, Li Nian, had invited them to diagnose Yang Bao.

When it came to Fu Jinfen, Li Tian was far more deferential. Jinggang University held a special status in the minds of Xiao City’s people, and as the city’s top hospital, Jinggang University Affiliated First Hospital’s major department directors were figures that even wealthy businessmen like him didn’t dare to slight.

Beyond their power and networks within the medical world, these top directors all had connections, to varying degrees, within circles of powerful and influential people. Generally, no businessman would willingly make an enemy of them.

When Fu Jinfen arrived at the hospital with Liu Xingye, Li Tian personally went downstairs to greet them.

”Director Fu, Dr. Liu, thank you so much for making the trip out here.”

Li Tian was very respectful and knew how things worked. As he met them in the parking garage, he directly handed two prepared envelopes to Director Fu.

Everyone knew how it worked with invitations from the wealthy. Fu Jinfen accepted them graciously.

Of course, he had the confidence and the skill to back it up. To be honest, most people couldn’t hire him even if they offered this much money.

Fu Jinfen was doing this as a favor to Li Nian.

After the three of them reached the hospital room, Fu Jinfen began a meticulous review of Yang Bao’s various physical exam reports and imaging data.

After his review, Fu Jinfen had a clear picture of the situation. His was the first team to collaborate with Wu Ting in implementing the immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy combined with the perfect triple-adjuvant technique.

Wu Ting had held nothing back with Director Fu, so compared to Director Ma’s team at Jin Province Tumor Hospital, Fu’s team undoubtedly had a much better grasp of the procedure.

However, Director Fu knew perfectly well that if he and Liu Xingye were to perform the surgery, their success rate would be, at best, sixty percent of what it would be if Wu Ting operated himself!

After a moment of thought, Fu Jinfen said directly to Li Tian:

”President Li, I’ve carefully reviewed your girlfriend’s case. The surgery is doable. If my team performs the tumor resection combined with the immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy, the probability of a full recovery is quite high.”

Hearing Director Fu’s words, Li Tian was thrilled:

”That’s fantastic! I knew if Director Fu took the case, there wouldn’t be any problem.”

Yang Bao was equally thrilled.

They exchanged a look, both understanding what the other was thinking. ’Let that doctor from Fan City First Hospital be as arrogant as he wants. So what if he refused? We still found a top-tier team to perform the surgery.’

’Director Fu is a huge name in Xiao City’s hepatic tumor field. How could that doctor we’ve never even heard of possibly compare?’

”Then we’ll have to trouble Director Fu to schedule the surgery. We’ll cooperate fully. As for the surgical fees... that’s not an issue at all.”

Li Tian was filled with anticipation.

Director Fu looked at the two of them and accepted the case. However, after a moment’s thought, he offered an even better suggestion.

”There’s no problem with my team taking the lead on the surgery, but it isn’t the best option.”

”I have a better suggestion. I know a doctor who is even more outstanding than I am. To be precise, he’s the founder of this combination therapy. If you two are interested, I can make an introduction for you.”

”My relationship with this expert is very close. If I put in a word for you, there shouldn’t be any major issues.”

”What do you think?”

Fu Jinfen could have easily taken the case himself and pocketed the entire, hefty expert fee. However, he ultimately felt it was more appropriate for Wu Ting to be the lead surgeon—the success rate would be higher!

Besides Wu Ting’s personal skill, the artificial intelligence system was also a crucial factor. Wu Ting was using a laboratory version that was two generations ahead of the one in their operating room. Fu Jinfen couldn’t even predict how far it had evolved by now.

Hearing Fu Jinfen recommend an even more incredible expert—the founder of the very surgical technique that would be used to treat Yang Bao, no less—left Li Tian and Yang Bao feeling incredibly honored.

’Even Fu Jinfen admits he’s no match for the founder of this Surgical Technique.’

’Could it be one of those academicians? A titan of the medical world? A nationally famous doctor?’

It made Li Tian feel both incredibly flattered and nervous.

”Then we’ll have to trouble you to make the introduction for us, Director Fu!”

’Being able to hire this kind of top-tier, famous doctor would be a huge boost to my reputation.’

’He couldn’t wait to shove the video of Yang Bao’s surgery and the expert’s information right in that Director Wu’s face. We’ll see who has something to be smug about then!’

’I’ll show you what a real top doctor looks like!’
