Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 888: Chapter 862: Precocious Children Make the Heart Ache

These things Panpan didn’t dare to say to father and mom much. Mom is a very frugal woman. Panpan himself researched foreign magazines before, these things aren’t cheap. He always felt that the family might be quite difficult because mom was always calculating when things go on sale.

”Kids doing these things, how boring! Uncle will buy you the latest PSP; it’s really fun.”

PSP had just been released not long ago, and Xiaoqiang already liked it. Whenever he had nothing to do, he would play for a while. Qian always bought him the latest models from abroad.

”No, that’s for immature people.”

Underpants!

Yu Minglang pressed on his heart, feeling like his heart was shattered into pieces by Panpan. He was despised by a kid still in kindergarten!

Qian even cooperated, ”Yes, he’s immature.”

Underpants!

Despised by his own wife too!

”What does Panpan like? Grandma will get it for you—” Mrs. Yu hadn’t finished her sentence when she felt a fierce glare from Qian’s side, the presence of a big doctor in full force, so Mrs. Yu wisely shut her mouth and drank her beverage.

”Panpan, Aunt promises you, if your mom really brings you a little brother or sister, the day he’s born will be when you receive a full set of gifts.”

”A full set... is it expensive?”

Qian’s mouth twitched, seeing the conditioned response caused by mom’s frugality.

”Aunt will buy it; Aunt is super rich, guaranteed to get the whole set from abroad for you.”

”No way, gifts should not be accepted without merit. Although my family is poor, a child should not blame the family’s poverty.” Panpan said seriously.

This impressed Mrs. Yu greatly. Oh, this child talks like a little adult!

”Then let your dad buy it—child, your family is not poor, really.”

Mr. Yu’s salary was raised again in the past two years, the income was definitely not low. Only, his and mom’s low profile made the child think the family was poor.

For a kindergartner, Panpan is absolutely intelligent, but a child is still a child and always has an innate desire for things they like. Hearing Qian say it can be bought made those eyes absolutely sparkle.

”Qian, are you sure you want to buy what he says? Such a big kid, can he handle materials?” Xiaoqiang swore he wasn’t pouring cold water because he was teased by the child and his wife; he was just stating the truth!

Upon hearing this, Panpan’s sparkling eyes dimmed, and Qian, with her usual therapeutic smile, pinched Yu Minglang’s hand under the table.

You’re the most talkative!

”By then, your dad will do it with you. The parts you can’t complete, he will do them with you!”

Sure enough, Panpan immediately beamed with joy, ”Really?”

”Of course, Aunt is known as ’Social Qian,’ would Qian lie?”

Xiaoqiang found it amusing; his wife is really overbearing, daring to use a nickname in front of mother-in-law?

”Right, your aunt is right. Look, aunt took the championship in such an important competition today; champions don’t lie.” Even Mrs. Yu cooperated with Qian in saying.

”But... won’t dad have no time for me with a little brother or sister?”

Sure enough!

Mrs. Yu felt a pang in her heart; the child was too precocious and it made her feel sorry.

Qian remained calm and smiled, continuing.

”Aunt will not lie, I admit, if there’s a baby, mom might be a bit busier taking care of the little baby. Babies are dumb and can’t eat or pee themselves, mom might care a little more for him. But dad will spend more time with you, you know mom won’t neglect you because of the baby.”

At this time, Qian was actually subtly giving the child psychological counseling.

”But the aunt in our clinic says mom won’t want me after having a little brother.”

Mrs. Yu’s face changed upon hearing this.

Who talks too much like that, saying these things in front of the child?!

A child’s heart is truly fragile.

Some jokes that adults casually say might not have malicious intent but can cause the child unease.

When your mother has a brother or sister, if you are disobedient you will not be wanted.

If you continue to be picky, when your mother has a little brother she will send you to grandma’s house!

These words often get heard intentionally or unintentionally.

Not just clever Panpan, even normal children, even at 2 or 3 years old, without much understanding, hearing shameless relatives or neighbors joke like this, the child will remember.

Qian most hated such insensitive jokers.

If these words dared to be spoken in front of her, she would slap them.

No matter how clever or sensible Panpan was, he was still just a kid with a child’s psychology; everyone who said these things should be severely beaten.

Panpan had been raised by mom since he was a naive baby, although the whole family thought the child was too young to understand concepts of birth mothers versus stepparents, he actually did.

Many people start remembering things around 5 or 6 years old, while a person’s brain is developing up to age 3, recalling memories from before age 3 is quite unlikely. But some fragmented memories include a fierce woman who always hit him until mom came, bringing sunshine into his life. Yet he had heard that mom wasn’t his real mother; adults thought he didn’t get it, but he did.

Those adults’ presumptuous ”jokes” caused the psychological shadows the child least wanted.

If it wasn’t for Qian considering this matter first, mom wouldn’t have discovered Panpan’s inner nature; not because mom didn’t care, but because she was less experienced than Qian in these matters, without extensive clinical experience, these reflections were built up through cases again and again.

In past lives, after the two-child policy was relaxed, kids had psychological problems due to parents having a second child, and it was not uncommon. Some older siblings became verbally hurtful or even engaged in extreme actions to harm themselves or the second child. In most cases, the older child bottled everything up, pretending to understand, while the psychological shadow seeds were planted.

Your mom won’t abandon you because of a baby; Aunt guarantees, in the future your parents will spend as much time with you as now. If mom spends a little less, dad will spend more, so the combined time will remain the same, Aunt will never lie to you. When the baby comes, you will get your gifts, adults will keep their promises!

Actually, this is a psychological suggestion and is key to the counseling, as the child will later remember these suggestions vividly when receiving the gifts.

Panpan looked at her seriously, as if evaluating the credibility of Qian’s words.

Qian added another sentence, ”Have you heard ’appearance is born from the heart’? Compare the people saying you won’t be liked with siblings to Aunt’s beauty?”

”No!”

”Beautiful people have reason to be right, listen to me!”

Xiaoqiang blinked, his wife could really fool kids, Panpan immediately believed.

”However, to say your life won’t change at all isn’t quite right either...” Qian deliberately left suspense to engage Panpan further before continuing.
