Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

Zhang Yi killed Mukawa and Tsangpo with a single slash of his blade.

Since it was confirmed that the Yasha Langtai family was the enemy, there was no need to hold back. Killing them was simply the logical course of action.

In the distance, the monks and serfs from Dazhuan Temple, who were kneeling on the ground, stared at the scene in stunned disbelief. They couldn’t believe that the Dharma-protecting Vajras of Sangha Monastery had actually been slain by the evil fiend right before their eyes!

Zhang Yi, unhurried and calm, sheathed the long sword back into the scabbard on his back, then leisurely walked away.

As for the eyewitnesses present, he couldn’t be bothered to spare them even a glance.

Three Dharma-protecting Vajras had come looking for him; this fact was widely known. Therefore, there was no need to silence any witnesses.

However, next, he would likely have to face the wrath of Sangha Monastery and the entire Yasha Langtai family.

”Will that Lord of the Charnel Ground personally take action?”

Zhang Yi narrowed his eyes with a faint smile. ”I’m actually somewhat looking forward to it.”

...

Sangha Monastery.

Yasha Langtai Deji had kept the two family heads with him, telling them that a good show was about to unfold.

Xia Zha Gyatso and La Min Ouzhu exchanged a glance, their hearts vaguely guessing that Deji had sent people to the Pagyi Family to take action.

The two could only sip their tea while patiently waiting for the ’good show’ Deji had mentioned.

Deji’s face maintained a kindly smile throughout, like a master who had attained enlightenment, someone who could hold the entire Southwest Region firmly in the palm of his hand.

This time, he had been very cautious. To achieve his goal, the three people he sent out were all first-rate experts from Sangha Monastery.

He had to make the leaders of the three great families understand who the true king of the Southwest Region was.

Anyone who dared to offend Sangha Monastery, who dared to offend their Yasha Langtai family, must receive the punishment they deserved.

As for the person who killed Loren, they must either choose to submit to him, or die!

And when the time came, he would display his majesty to La Min Ouzhu and the others, bringing that person, or that person’s head, before them.

However, he suddenly thought of Pagyi Gesang’s uncharacteristic defiance today, and an uneasy feeling involuntarily arose in his heart.

But the moment he thought of the Lord of the Charnel Ground, currently meditating in the Great Illumination Hall, all the unease in his heart instantly dissipated like dust and smoke.

As long as they possessed the Lord of the Charnel Ground, in the Southwest Region, no one could shake the status of their Yasha Langtai family!

Not long after, the door of the Buddha Hall was knocked upon.

Deji, along with La Min Ouzhu and the other two, instinctively looked over.

A confident smile appeared on Deji’s face. ”It seems the good show I mentioned already has a result.”

La Min Ouzhu and Xia Zha Gyatso felt inexplicably nervous. They had guessed Deji’s methods and couldn’t help but feel a sense of trepidation in their hearts.

Killing the chicken to scare the monkeys—they were those two monkeys!

”Enter!”

Deji said calmly.

A monk opened the door and walked in, but his face was deathly pale, his expression flustered.

Seeing the man’s expression, a sense of foreboding rose in Deji’s heart.

”Akena, what is it?”

Akena pressed his palms together, trembling as he spoke. ”Khenpo... it’s terrible! Mukawa, Tsangpo, and Ashina, the three Dharma-protecting Vajras... they were killed at Dazhuan Temple!”

*Clatter!*

The cup in Deji’s hand fell to the ground, emitting a sharp, piercing shatter.

He stood up in disbelief, his eyes wide as he stared at Akena.

”You... what did you say?”

Deji even suspected there was something wrong with his ears.

Mukawa, Tsangpo, and Ashina were the most powerful monk soldiers under his command. With these three joining forces, there were few in the entire Southwest Region who could rival them.

Apart from the mysterious Snow Mountain Divine Eagle of the resistance army, anyone who fell into the hands of these three had never managed to escape unscathed.

But this time, not only had these three failed to complete their mission and humiliate the Pagyi Family, they had actually fallen in battle!

The expressions on La Min Ouzhu and Xia Zha Gyatso’s faces grew even more colorful. They lowered their heads, secretly smiling, their hearts filled with joy.

Seeing the arrogant Deji suffer a setback, knowing that three of Sangha Monastery’s high-level combatants had perished—how could they not be happy?

After all, not long ago, Deji had been brimming with confidence, acting as if everything was under his control.

The muscles on Deji’s face twitched involuntarily.

His large hand within his sleeve tightened around his prayer beads. If it weren’t for the presence of the two family heads, he would have almost wanted to flip the table in front of him and roar in anger.

But in front of outsiders, he had to maintain his image.

”Tell me, what exactly happened?!”

Deji forced down the impulse of wild fury, his eyes bloodshot as he glared at Akena.

Akena trembled in fear, hastily telling Deji everything he knew.

”You’re saying the demon harbored by the Pagyi Family not only killed Loren, but also killed Mukawa, Tsangpo, and Ashina, the three Dharma-protecting Vajras!!”

Deji said angrily.

”That’s correct, Khenpo.”

Akena knelt on the ground, answering honestly.

This time, Xia Zha Gyatso and La Min Ouzhu began to feel uneasy.

They were aware of the reputations of these four individuals; they were among the few top-tier experts in the entire Southwest Region.

Superhumans of this level were extremely rare even within their own families.

But now, Sangha Monastery had actually lost four of them at once!

This loss was immeasurable. One could say it directly caused a catastrophic gap in Sangha Monastery’s Delta-level combat power.

And this person came from Chief Pagyi.

Both of them knew in their hearts that this must be a mercenary Pagyi Gesang had invited from outside.

”No wonder Pagyi Gesang was so confident today, daring to directly challenge Deji. So he had called in reinforcements!”

”We just don’t know where this mysterious figure comes from, or what kind of background he has.”

The two thought to themselves.

”Hahaha! Arrogant, truly utterly arrogant!”

Deji laughed loudly, but his laughter was filled with nothing but icy killing intent.

He forcefully rubbed the prayer beads in his hand, saying coldly, ”The Pagyi Family shelters demons. They have already lost their faith and betrayed the esoteric sect!”

Deji suddenly turned to look at the two family heads.

”Chief Xia Zha, Head of La Min, you both see what the Pagyi Family has done, don’t you?”

”Now, in the name of the Khenpo of Sangha Monastery, I ask you to mobilize your troops and join me in launching a punitive expedition against the Pagyi Family!”

”I believe in your faith in the esoteric sect, and your loyalty to Sangha Monastery and the Lord of the Charnel Ground.”

Deji’s gaze bore down on the two, his intentions already blatantly obvious.

The Pagyi Family had touched his bottom line this time. This battle had to be fought; otherwise, from now on, his prestige, Yasha Langtai Deji’s prestige, would plummet to the lowest depths.

But he wasn’t foolish either; he wouldn’t give the Xia Zha Family and La Min Family the opportunity to sit on the mountain and watch the tigers fight.

He had to drag these two families into the war as well.

This time, Zhang Yi had killed four of Sangha Monastery’s Dharma-protecting Vajras. According to the tenets of the esoteric sect, this was indeed the act of a demon.

This gave Deji the pretext for war.

Xia Zha Gyatso and La Min Ouzhu were ten thousand times unwilling in their hearts, but looking at Deji’s current state, if they didn’t agree, they feared they would be the first to be eliminated.

There was also one thing they couldn’t be sure of—when the interests of Sangha Monastery were threatened, would the Lord of the Charnel Ground take action?

Forced into a corner, the two had no choice but to grit their teeth and agree to dispatch troops to participate in the war.
