Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

Zhang Yi arrived at the space beneath Great Snow Mountain and discovered a massive underground karst cave.

Since he had no map, he could only slowly explore the area.

This place was truly vast, just as Pagyi Gesang had said. Even the forces of the four great families would need to expend enormous manpower and resources to explore it thoroughly.

No wonder the four great families had decided to join forces and enter here together after the Prayer Festival.

However, for Zhang Yi, the lack of a map was only a minor issue; he had plenty of time and ability to spare.

Using the Smart System equipment on his person, Zhang Yi gradually figured out the general layout of the karst cave.

It was connected to an underground river, stretching for hundreds of kilometers from the southeast to the northwest.

And this was only the area detected by the equipment. In reality, if one accounted for the flowing underground river, it likely extended out from the entire Kunlun Mountains all the way to the Sichuan-Chongqing area.

Zhang Yi narrowed his search to within a hundred-mile radius.

After all, according to legend, the location of the Demon Kingdom was beneath Great Snow Mountain and couldn’t be too far off.

Over two thousand years, there hadn’t been any major geological changes either.

Whoosh!

After grasping the general topography of the area, Zhang Yi began utilizing his spatial traversal ability to rapidly search underground.

Within a few minutes, he had practically searched the entire space of the underground karst cave beneath Great Snow Mountain.

Yet the result was that he only discovered some bones of cattle and sheep used for sacrificial rituals, piled up into small hills, but found no trace of any underground ruins.

”Nothing? Could it be somewhere else?”

Zhang Yi frowned, feeling uncertain and suspicious.

However, just at that moment, his keen spatial senses alerted him to the presence of something else nearby.

Without hesitation, Zhang Yi traversed into the rock layer ahead.

The spatial field of Manifold Phenomena enveloped his entire body, preventing anyone from detecting his presence.

Yet, Zhang Yi could observe everything outside as usual.

Not long after, Zhang Yi saw a humanoid figure emerge from another direction of the karst cave.

It was a person clad in a black combat suit, stepping on the moist stones within the cave, walking step by step towards Zhang Yi’s location.

Zhang Yi narrowed his eyes, drawing White Owl with his right hand and aiming at the figure ahead.

That person, however, walked straight past Zhang Yi’s location, heading deeper into the karst cave.

Zhang Yi’s eyes darkened slightly.

”It seems I’m not the only one with this idea.”

The four great families had agreed to gather the map fragments each possessed and head to the Demon Kingdom’s gate after the Prayer Festival.

But clearly, not everyone was so trustworthy; some wanted to obtain the Demon Kingdom treasure ahead of time.

Zhang Yi himself had no leads, so he simply followed behind that person.

Protected by Manifold Phenomena and with the optical camouflage of the Hidden Dragon armor, unless someone deliberately searched for him, even the most perceptive individual wouldn’t sense being followed.

That person seemed very familiar with the underground paths, walking forward without the slightest pause.

Soon, he stopped at an underground cliff.

Zhang Yi hovered in the darkness of mid-air, coldly watching everything before him.

He had passed this cliff earlier, but its bottom was filled almost entirely with bones of cattle, sheep, and humans used for sacrifices.

The man, completely wrapped in a black combat suit, cautiously looked left and right, then leaped down from the cliff edge.

At that moment, two enormous golden wings extended from his back with a ”whoosh.”

The golden light illuminated the surrounding hundreds of meters of underground space. The golden wings looked as if forged from pure gold, beautiful like works of art, each feather shimmering with brilliant radiance.

With a flap of his wings, he soared into the air and swiftly descended.

Zhang Yi followed silently behind him.

When the black-clad man landed, Zhang Yi realized there was another world below. From above, this cliff appeared as just a long fissure, but the space below was extremely vast.

After landing, the black-clad man pressed his palms together and began murmuring something.

Through the Smart System’s translation, Zhang Yi learned it was an ancient Sanskrit mantra.

As the black-clad man chanted the mantra, a wisp of golden light slowly emanated from his body.

At the bottom of the cliff, a massive number of bones began to tremble violently.

The bones of the sacrificial offerings, piled into hills, shook as if being sifted.

Before the black-clad man, like a tide surging, a small mountain formed from piled bones began to emerge.

”Clatter! Clatter!”

Bones fell in succession, skulls rolling everywhere.

The bone pile mountain collapsed with a ”Boom!”

Right before the black-clad man, a huge, deep well was revealed.

Watching all this from the shadows, Zhang Yi fixed his eyes intently on that enormous deep well.

”Could this be the entrance to the Demon Kingdom?”

Zhang Yi looked at the black-clad man, a contemplative gleam appearing in his eyes.

Without hesitation, the black-clad man decisively jumped into the deep well.

Zhang Yi hesitated for a moment, used his All Things Follow Traces ability to lock onto the path ahead, and swiftly followed.

The advantage of having time-based abilities was the ability to anticipate danger in advance.

And spatial abilities allowed him to quickly escape from any perilous situation.

Since he was here and had witnessed such a mysterious figure and scene, Zhang Yi certainly wouldn’t miss the chance to follow.

It was almost certain that this person had come for the so-called Demon Kingdom treasure.

Passing through that long, black deep well, Zhang Yi soon followed the black-clad man to an underground world.

Compared to the karst cave above, the space here was noticeably smaller, resembling a secluded valley.

Surrounding it were raised rock formations, encircling a small area of only a few thousand square meters.

However, the moment Zhang Yi arrived here, he saw what he wanted to see.

A gate.

A genuine, massive gate, its entire body dark and gloomy. Its color was hard to distinguish between metal or stone, emitting an intimidating blackish-blue hue.

The enormous gate was embedded into the rock wall of the underground world, over fifty meters high and about twenty meters wide.

Ancient Sanskrit inscriptions adorned the gate, seemingly some kind of seal. The gate was carved with a scene of a brutal war.

The imagery was easy to understand: a hero leading countless soldiers, defeating ferocious demons and driving them into a dark cave.

If the guess was correct, this should depict the story of the hero King Gesar conquering the Demon Kingdom and suppressing it beneath Great Snow Mountain.

”Is this the gate leading to the Demon Kingdom?”

Zhang Yi hadn’t expected the so-called Demon Kingdom gate to actually exist; he had thought it was merely symbolic.

After all, if there was a gate, it could be used for entry and exit.

And since King Gesar had suppressed the Demon Kingdom back then, he wouldn’t have allowed them to reappear on the Snowy Plateau; he should have completely sealed their entrances and exits.

So why was this gate left behind?

Perhaps King Gesar himself knew that the forces of the underground world couldn’t be completely suppressed?

Or was this a treasure left for future generations?
