Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

Early the next morning, Zhang Yi got up and immediately went to find Pagyi Gesang.

He wanted to obtain intelligence on the entire Southwest Region.

Especially information on the military strength of the other three great families and Sangha Monastery.

Superhumans, weapons, private soldier numbers.

He had to grasp this intelligence to avoid making mistakes in future operations.

But before he could even leave, Pagyi Gesang came to him on his own.

”Mr. Chaos!”

Zhang Yi nodded. ”Chief Pagyi, are you looking for me for something? I was just about to go find you!”

Pagyi Gesang sighed, his expression rather serious. ”Early this morning, Yasha Langtai Deji, in his capacity as the Khenpo of Sangha Monastery, demanded that the heads of our Four Great Families attend a meeting.”

Zhang Yi raised an eyebrow. ”You have meetings that frequently?”

Pagyi Gesang’s expression turned a bit odd as he looked at Zhang Yi.

”Even he cannot easily summon us to a meeting without a proper reason. It’s just that something unusual happened yesterday.”

Seeing the strange look in Pagyi Gesang’s eyes, Zhang Yi thought for a moment, then pointed at himself with a faint smile.

”Could it be related to me?”

Pagyi Gesang nodded. ”Didn’t you kill a patrol squad yesterday?”

”Yes, but I already told you about that. What, were they off-limits?”

Zhang Yi gave a light smile.

Pagyi Gesang quickly said, ”Of course not. It’s just that the identities of those people were somewhat special.”

”As you likely know, the monk soldiers of Sangha Monastery are now practically indistinguishable from the private soldiers of the Yasha Langtai family.”

”However, on the surface, they still represent Sangha Monastery, and thus the esoteric sect.”

”You killed so many monk soldiers, including the Dharma-protecting Vajra Loren who had a very high superhuman ability index. Deji is using this as the pretext to call us in.”

Pagyi Gesang’s eyes held a trace of helplessness.

Zhang Yi immediately understood his predicament.

The Yasha Langtai family now was essentially like a warlord holding the emperor hostage to command the other lords.

Just how influential was the esoteric sect in the Southwest Region?

To put it simply, basically every single person was a believer of the esoteric sect.

Even if the Pagyi Family was at odds with the Yasha Langtai family, they wouldn’t dare to openly declare their opposition to the esoteric sect.

Zhang Yi nodded and asked, ”Is it easy to handle? Or do you need me to step in now?”

Pagyi Gesang waved his hand. ”It’s not that serious. Hah, right now, we’re just a thin layer of paper away from tearing the facade apart. The Prayer Festival is in just over a week. He won’t dare to do anything drastic to us.”

Zhang Yi smiled. ”That’s good. You handle the wrangling yourself then.”

”Yes, I just came to inform you. To prevent them from using this as an excuse to do something, please avoid going out casually.”

Zhang Yi nodded. ”Alright.”

It wasn’t a good idea to go out investigating in broad daylight anyway. Since there was still a while before the Prayer Festival, he wasn’t in a particular hurry.

Before leaving, Pagyi Gesang asked Zhang Yi, ”Did you need something from me? Even though I won’t be here, you can freely give orders to the servants.”

Zhang Yi stated his request.

Pagyi Gesang immediately instructed the chief steward, Lhobu, to compile the information and hand it all over to Zhang Yi.

After that, he bid farewell to Zhang Yi and hurriedly left with a team of personal guards, heading to Sangha Monastery by car.

After listening to Pagyi Gesang and obtaining the desired intelligence, Zhang Yi took it back to study with the others at home.

The strength of the Four Great Families was much weaker than imagined.

After all, the population of the Southwest Plateau region itself was sparse. Combined with the relative scarcity of resources in the high-altitude area compared to other regions, their number of superhumans was also lower than other areas.

Furthermore, the covert infighting among the Four Great Families here made it even harder for them to form a powerful force.

To put it bluntly, after Zhang Yi glanced at the combined military strength of the Four Great Families, it couldn’t even match that of the Jiangnan Region.

If not for the Lord of the Charnel Ground of the esoteric sect serving as their figurehead, and without the Death Reaper of Love, they would truly be at the bottom of the Huaxu Kingdom.

”Any one of these Four Great Families, I could easily sweep away on my own.”

”With some time and effort, I could probably wipe out all of their families.”

After reviewing the intelligence, Zhang Yi felt reassured.

Yang Xinxin said, ”So that means the only ones we really need to deal with are those monks at Sangha Monastery, especially the Lord of the Charnel Ground.”

Zhang Yi nodded. ”Exactly. That’s the reality.”

”But now, we have to add some other forces operating behind the scenes.”

For example, those few powerful, mysterious Epsilon-level individuals they encountered last night.

But just as Zhang Yi was studying the various forces of the Southwest Region, several uninvited guests appeared within the Pagyi Family’s territory.

Outside the walls of the Pagyi Family estate, amidst the raging blizzard, three monks slowly approached from the distance.

Dressed in their Dharma robes, they tread through the snow step by step. They seemed to move slowly, but in the blink of an eye for the soldiers guarding the wall, they had already arrived at the top of the wall.

The Pagyi Family’s private soldiers instinctively raised their guns, but upon clearly seeing their robes, they subtly moved their muzzles away.

On the Snowy Plateau, attacking a monk meant you would descend to the eighteenth level of hell after death.

”Venerable monks, our chieftain has gone to Sangha Monastery. Is there something you need?”

A superhuman squad leader approached, his gaze cautious as he stared at the monks before him.

But when he got close and clearly saw the faces of the three, cold sweat instantly broke out on his back.

The appearances of the three monks weren’t particularly special. They weren’t tall, even somewhat thin.

Especially one old monk, who was practically skin and bones.

The leader was a middle-aged monk. He looked at the superhuman squad leader and spoke in a gentle, soft voice:

”Yesterday, someone attacked the Dharma-protecting Vajra of Sangha Monastery. Someone saw them come to your Pagyi Family. We are here to find them.”

That superhuman squad leader, usually quite bold, now stammered, ”I... our chieftain isn’t here. Please wait a moment, allow me to inform the steward.”

The middle-aged monk smiled slightly. ”Since Chief Pagyi is not here, we will search on our own.”

As soon as he finished speaking, before the squad leader could say anything else, a fierce blizzard suddenly whipped up around them.

The soldiers were thrown into disarray. When they opened their eyes again, the three monks had already vanished from the spot.

Only a violent gale remained, sweeping towards the vast courtyard of the Pagyi Family.

The superhuman squad leader’s face changed dramatically. He immediately contacted the courtyard to report the situation.

When Chief Steward Lhobu received this news, his expression instantly turned grave.

”This is bad! They deliberately lured the chieftain away and are now targeting those distinguished guests!”

With Pagyi Gesang gone, he had also taken away the Pagyi Family’s most powerful combat unit, especially his personal guard, Suolang Deji.

In their absence, the entire Pagyi Family had no one who could deal with those three Dharma-protecting Vajras from Sangha Monastery!
