The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 485: Chapter 485: They Are Very Self-Disciplined

Gu Yixing’s eyes were filled with adoration as he whispered, “Before school starts, you need to work hard and think about what you like.”

What do I like…

Little Taotie’s large pupils were full of confusion.

She looked up at Xiao Lingzhi, who was teaching singing, and thought that singing seemed quite interesting.

She recalled the mime Cheng Lu had just taught and found acting also quite fascinating.

The bell rang, and Xiao Lingzhi, still not quite satisfied, was producing the sounds “do-re-mi-fa-sol-la-si-do.” Seeing the pairs of eyes filled with admiration and amazement under the podium, she felt fantastic, as if she was floating.

Gu Yixing lifted someone down from the podium, waved his hand, and allowed the children to rest before the next class.

Originally, he thought the children would play or leave the classroom during break times, but apart from a few who went to the restroom, no one left their seats. Instead, they quietly sang the notes Xiao Lingzhi had taught in the previous lesson.

Xiao Lingzhi rested her chin on her hands and muttered quietly, “They are so pitiful.”

Little Taotie, puzzled, asked, “Why do you say that?”

“Look, I’m on vacation now!” Xiao Lingzhi said grumpily, “They don’t have summer or winter break, nor do they have music or art classes, nor any electives they can choose.”

Little Taotie pursed her lips, remembering that she hadn’t even started school yet. All schools should be on break, especially since Xiao Lingzhi was on vacation. But here, the children didn’t have long summer or winter breaks.

“Do they have Saturdays or Sundays?” Little Taotie tilted her head and asked.

Xiao Lingzhi sighed, “It seems they do, but they still come to school to review and do homework. Their self-discipline is terrifying.”

“They work so hard.” Little Taotie clenched her little fists, full of eagerness, “When I go to school, I will also work hard!”

Xiao Lingzhi shook her head, “It’s not the same.”

“How is it different?”

“They only study what’s required for the Middle School Entrance Exam, nothing else. They do all this only to get into good middle schools. I heard that if they perform well in middle school, they could get scholarships.”

“Is a scholarship a reward for people who study very well?”

“Yes, at the school I attended, the top three students in the whole grade could get scholarships, and also rewards like meal tickets, backpacks, notebooks, pencils, etc.”

“Then I want to be in the top three too!”

Xiao Lingzhi glanced at her and muttered, “Forget it, leave the opportunity for the less fortunate students.”

Little Taotie paused, gazing at her blankly.

Xiao Lingzhi pointed at herself, proudly, “Do I look smart?”

“You know so many stories and can recite them to me and Little Steamed Bun; you are very impressive and smart!” Little Taotie answered honestly.

Xiao Lingzhi spread her hands, “But I only rank after ten every time.”

Little Taotie asked blankly, “Can you control how many points you score, too?”

Xiao Lingzhi lifted her chin a bit proudly, “I usually act in plays, and sometimes I even skip classes. My grandfather hired a very impressive tutor for me, and I’ve already learned the content of the fourth grade, so I can control my grades in the first and second grade!”

Little Taotie’s eyes sparkled as she looked at her, “Xiao Lingzhi, you are amazing!”

“No! Sister Little Taotie is the best!” Little Steamed Bun came over, not having heard what they were talking about, only hearing Little Taotie praising Xiao Lingzhi, and immediately protested.

Xiao Lingzhi glanced at the three-year-old little guy who cried in his sleep at night and scoffed, “Both Little Taotie and I are great, only you are the worst!”

The bell rang, signaling the start of class. Little Steamed Bun wanted to retort, but obediently closed his mouth and stayed quiet.

This was the last lesson of the morning, and it was Gu Yixing’s turn to teach.
