The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 458: Chapter 458: Your Old Man is Getting Senile Chapter 458: Chapter 458: Your Old Man is Getting Senile Old Lady Hu remained skeptical, “How much money could buying bones possibly cost?”

“Is there a thousand?” Old Man Hu’s eyes sparkled as he grinned broadly.

Old Lady Hu looked at his yellowing teeth with disdain and shook her head, “You should learn from that old man, his teeth are so clean, makes him look lively!”

Old Man Hu’s face went stern, “Then give me more pocket money, I’d also have spare cash to get my teeth cleaned.”

The couple began to bicker when the boy’s second aunt came back, humming a song, and both husband and wife sent her a unified, unfriendly glare.

Second Aunt Hu shivered, “I didn’t do anything bad, what’s with those looks?”

Old Lady Hu charged over and grabbed her ear, “What nonsensical stuff have you been teaching your nephew? Falling in love, heart racing, face heating up, are these things you should be telling a child?”

“I didn’t say anything! He eavesdropped on my phone call with my boyfriend!”

“That’s because you didn’t close the door properly!”

“Mom, that’s so unfair!”

“The heart is biased by nature!”

Their arguing continued until the entire Hu Family returned from working in the fields.

As he entered, the boy’s father smelled the meat and asked, “What delicious food are we having today?”

Old Lady Hu sneered, “None of your business; it’s for your son to nourish his body.”

The boy’s father chuckled, “I can deliver it.”

“In your dreams!” Old Lady Hu glared at him and motioned to the boy’s mother, pulling out a card and handing it over, “This is from Old Master Qian, he said it’s for buying bones to strengthen the body. Go to the bank and withdraw the money.”

“Okay, I’ll go now.”

“Wait until after dinner.”

“It’s fine, it’s still early, and I’m not hungry. I’ll eat when I get back. Just save me some.”

The family gathered around the table to eat, while the boy’s mother, with a bag of clothes under her arm, rushed home, panting.

“How did you get back so quickly?” Second Aunt Hu was astonished. It usually took at least an hour and a half to go from the village to the bank and back. How could she be back in less than an hour?

After securely shutting the door, the boy’s mother came to the table, dropped the bag of clothes, and gasped, “I’ve withdrawn all the money. With so much cash, I didn’t dare to dawdle, I ran all the way back, scared someone might have had their eye on me!”

“It’s just money for bones, how much could it be?” Old Lady Hu wondered.

The boy’s mother hesitated, “The money is too much, could Old Master Qian have given the wrong card?”

Old Lady Hu urged, “How much money, stop talking in riddles!”

The boy’s mother unfolded the bundle wrapped in clothes, revealing stacks of Red Bills…

The boy’s father was shocked, and he rubbed his eyes hard, “Am I drunk? Seeing double?”

“A total of fifty thousand yuan!” the boy’s mother took a deep breath, “How many bones can you buy with that? I bet my son would be sick of them before we could even spend it all!”

“It’s a mistake! He must have made a mistake!” Old Lady Hu grabbed the money and ran outward, “I have to send this back, a thousand or two is enough for bones! Such an amount of money is definitely a mistake!”

The boy’s father sighed, “Although I knew it was a mistake, I still fantasized for a moment that maybe Old Master Qian really meant to give this much for my son to eat well and get healthy.”

The boy’s mother gave him a sideways glance, “It’s not even fully dark yet, and you’re already dreaming?”

Second Aunt Hu whispered softly, “I’m not sure if I saw it wrong, but the watch that old man wore, I’ve seen it when I was working in the city, the boss showed it off, saying it cost over a hundred thousand.”

“A hundred thousand for a watch?” the boy’s father scoffed, “Isn’t it just for telling time? Even a hundred yuan feels expensive to me! Impossible, if he’s really that rich, why would he move to our village? It could be a fake watch, something you’d buy for ten yuan at a street stall.”

Second Aunt Hu murmured, “It seemed even nicer than the one our boss wore…”

…

Old Lady Hu knocked on the door at the foot of the mountain, and it was King of Film Xu who answered.

“Anything I can help you with?”

Old Lady Hu stuffed the clothes-wrapped bundle of money at him, “Your dad gave the wrong card!”

King of Film Xu looked bewildered.

Tao Mo heard the commotion and came over with his walking stick.

Seeing him, Old Lady Hu began to complain, “You look younger than me, how can you be more muddled? You gave the wrong card, basically giving your retirement funds to me!”

Tao Mo: “…”

“Retirement funds?” Tian Leran came out.

Old Lady Hu took Tian Leran’s hand and lowered her voice, “Big sister, you’d better pay attention. Your old man is confused; he shouldn’t be in charge of the money!”

Tian Leran looked confusedly at Tao Mo.

Tao Mo took the bundle of clothes from King of Film Xu’s hand, checked inside, then wrapped it up again, and with a stern face, handed it back to Old Lady Hu, “The card is correct; it’s fifty thousand yuan, compensation for your grandson. I’ve consulted the doctor, there won’t be any lasting effects, but he needs proper nutrition. Your child was already somewhat malnourished.”
