The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 471: Chapter 471 A Tiny Mouse

Gu Yixing and King of Film Xu looked at each other, each seeing helplessness in the other’s eyes.

Cheng Lu sighed. The children had already moved in, what else could they do?

She could only count out 10 yuan and hand it over.

The staff member smiled, “Sweet dreams to you.”

“Get lost,” Gu Yixing glared at him.

The staff member wasn’t offended and kept smiling, “Then I’ll take my leave.”

Returning to the director’s side, the staff member presented the 10 yuan with both hands.

The director smirked, “Prepare a ‘surprise’ for them!”

The cameraman sighed, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, for a future reunion.”

The director snorted and waved his hand for the staff member to hurry and get ready.

…

Now that they had checked in, Cheng Lu still had to clean up. Fortunately, there were brooms, mops, and cloths inside. Though the thatched cottage was small, it had all essentials.

“Gurgle…” A protesting sound came from a stomach.

All the adults simultaneously fixed their gaze on Little Taotie.

Little Taotie blinked innocently and shook her head, “It wasn’t me!”

She had eaten Evil Spirit Chocolate before leaving the house, which could suppress hunger, and the handful of corn candy from the old farmer grandpa was very filling. Xiao Lingzhi didn’t eat hers, so she gave it to Little Taotie as well. Little Taotie really wasn’t hungry.

Xiao Lingzhi raised her hand weakly, “It’s me.”

“Let’s go find some food,” Gu Yixing headed outside.

King of Film Xu sighed, “We didn’t find any food during the day, where can we find any at night?”

Cheng Lu regretted, “I shouldn’t have sold all the vegetables. I should have kept some.”

King of Film Xu looked at the money she had placed on the table and asked, “Only 40 left?”

Cheng Lu nodded.

“Take the money, and let’s go buy some food from the villagers.”

“Yes, yes, yes, that’s a good idea!”

All three adults went out, leaving only the two children in the house.

Xiao Lingzhi ran about in the small thatched cottage, looking for anything surprising.

Little Taotie, “Aren’t you hungry? Save some energy and sit still.”

Xiao Lingzhi nodded and sat down on the bed, which made an unsteady creaking sound.

Xiao Lingzhi jumped up in alarm, bent down to check under the bed, and was startled by what she saw, screaming, “Help–!”

The three adults, who hadn’t gone far, hurriedly rushed back. Gu Yixing burst in, “What happened?”

King of Film Xu and Cheng Lu ran into the hut, panting and anxious to know what was going on.

Xiao Lingzhi clung to Little Taotie, trembling, and pointed under the bed, “There’s… there’s a mouse!”

Hearing the word “mouse,” Cheng Lu gasped and moved towards the door.

King of Film Xu felt a bit panicked inside as well.

Gu Yixing was somewhat afraid too, but he picked up a broom and, mustering courage, began to frantically sweep under the bed.

A grey, fuzzy thing scurried out from underneath, moving so quickly that only a grey shadow was visible.

Just as Gu Yixing breathed a sigh of relief, he heard Xiao Lingzhi’s scream, “It’s on the table!

Everyone looked at the table and saw the grey mouse, the size of two fists, arrogantly climbing onto the table.

“What do we do?” King of Film Xu hid behind Gu Yixing.

Gu Yixing took a deep breath, raised the broom in his hand to strike.

Cheng Lu huddled the children, shivering.

Little Taotie tilted her head, looking at them puzzled, not understanding what there was to fear about a small mouse. Back in her mountain village home, mice were much bigger than this.

“Ah!” Gu Yixing jumped in fright as the mouse leapt off the table and lunged at him.
