Dragon Monarch System

863  Chapter 863:- Nathan; Subdivisions & Leo

In a slightly dark room, every higher-up in the Shadow Guardian division watched as the young Prince introduced himself. ”Hello, everyone! My name is Leo. I look forward to working with you all.” Leo ended his speech with a polite bow. His tone was neither too humble nor too submissive. He carried the Aura of a noble with him. All the higher-ups in the Shadow Guardian division were excited to have a new and young face with them. A new, fresh face will make things lively and will make their workplace more interesting. ʼInteresting! He did not introduce himself as the Emperorʼs younger brother.ʼ This already left a positive impression on a few peopleʼs minds. ʼAs expected from the little brother of the Dragon Monarch.ʼ ʼThe question is: can he withstand the pressure, or is he just another delicate blossom?ʼ Thought one of Nathanʼs subordinates. Everyone knows that the Dragon Monarchʼs brother is a cultivation genius. Despite being so young, he is far closer to reaching 5th-order than they are. However, some of them wonder if Leo is ready for the darkness of the Shadow Guardian. After all, the job of the Shadow Guardian is to protect the Empire and its interests from the shadows. This means doing all sorts of dirty jobs. Watching Leo introduce himself, Nathan felt as if he had a headache. ʼWhy was I chosen for this job?ʼ In this mind, every other General except him was more suited to teach Leo Nathan himself admitted that he sucked at socializing or communicating. He had really poor social skills, which is a flaw for an Assassin. With practice and experience, he was able to overcome this weakness. But this did not mean he stopped being an introvert. Being a teacher requires good communication skills, which Nathan lacks ʼI am not suited for teaching. I am more suited for killing.ʼ The day he was informed that Leo was going to learn under him for a few months, the Captain of the Shadow Division has been having trouble sleeping at night since then ʼMost important of all - what am I even supposed to teach him?ʼ This has been a question heʼs contemplated since day one. No matter how hard he thought, he couldnʼt find anything that he was going to teach young Leo. ʼI cannot teach him Assassination stuff. Maybe some assassination tips will be useful as he grows up as a cultivator, but beyond that, I donʼt know what to teach him.ʼ

ʼAlso, Leo is here to learn from me and other generals so one day, he could become the 8th general. Teaching him Assassination stuff is useless.ʼ ”Leo, itʼs good to have you with us.” Nathan wasnʼt awkward with Leo. He had trained the Emperorʼs young brother a few times in the past as well. Both of them have completed missions together in the past. ”I will be in your care,” Leo said in a polite tone. Nathan felt uncomfortable, unsure of what to say next or how to guide the conversation. But then, his subordinate broke the ice. ”Sir, we have captured a few spies today.” This took everyoneʼs attention. ”Would you like to see them?” Nathan shook his head. He could use his time for other, far more important things. But then he remembered that Leo might learn a thing or two from this experience, so he changed his mind. ”Never mind! Bring them here.” Usually, these kinds of tasks are the responsibility of his underlings. He, as the Captain of his division, has to focus on many important things. In the meantime, Leo, who was curious about Nathan, found himself asking a few intriguing questions. ”Sensei, do you have any family?” Hearing Leo call Nathan sensei, everyone was stunned. Nathanʼs entire body became stiff for a few seconds. ”Donʼt call me Sensei.” ”Just call me by my name like you always have,” Nathan said in a defeated tone. Being called Sensei felt too odd and uncomfortable for Nathan. Besides, Leo was already an adult in Nathanʼs eyes. Seeing this, his subordinates wanted to laugh. However, nobody risked a laugh, knowing that they would face consequences later if they did. Their boss was the type who would slowly torture them without saying a single word. ʼJust as I expected, this kidʼs arrival is making things lively here.ʼ

ʼBefore, our workplace used to be bleak, but now. Hahaha!!!ʼ

ʼThe next few months are going to be really interesting.ʼ

”As for my family...!!ʼ Nathan paused as if he was recalling something very distant. His subordinates curiously listened as well. They never had the guts to ask their Boss about his family. All they knew was that their boss was extremely introverted and lonely, seldom interacting with anyone outside of work. ”I am an orphan. At a young age, I was adopted by an assassination organization. From the age of 11, I started my training to be an Assassin.” Nathan felt that he had said more than he should have. Just then, three badly beaten men were dragged to the room. ”Boss, these three were sent by the neighboring Empires.”

Nathan stared at the bruised faces for a few seconds before looking at Leo. ”This isnʼt even the end of this week, but we already have caught around 18 spies, excluding these three here.” Hearing this, Leo was really surprised. ”I did not expect the number to be this high. Is there any particular reason for this?” He curiously asked. ”Well, ever since our Empire defeated the Dune Sovereignty and became number 1 in the Six Continents, a lot of factions from the Main Continent have suddenly become interested in us.” ”While some approached us directly with good intentions. There are also those with bad intentions. A group of Empires and Kingdoms from the Six Continents appears to maintain good relations with us outwardly, but internally, they harbor jealousy, negativity, and hatred.”

”Many from within the Six Continents and also from the Main Continent want to unveil our weakness. Since the end of the last war, the number of spies in the Capital has increased by a few folds.”

”This is where our Sub-Division comes.” The man who dragged the three spies to the meeting room spoke. His name was Dave Mathew. Dave is a middle-aged man. He looked like he was in his 20s, but in reality, he was the father of a dozen children and multiple wives. However, no one aside from Nathan seems to know where his family lives or exactly how many children and wives he has. Dave was 6 feet 1 inches tall. He was tan-skinned and had long, black, curly hair that he had tied into a bun on top of his head like a monk.

The leader of the 1st sub-division wore a black leather vest with four small dark purple stars on the top left side of it. ”The job of the 1st Sub-division is to find spies within the Istarin Empire. Our Division specializes in finding spies.” ”Wait! There are divisions within Divisions?” Leo did not know of this before. He did not expect things to be this complex. ”Well, things used to be really simple at the beginning.” When the Istarin Empire was way smaller. ”But as our Empire grew powerful and bigger, things became more complicated.”

”I cannot dedicate all of my time to just finding spies. As the Leader of the Shadow Guardian, I have other jobs besides answering His Majestyʼs summon at any given time.” To Nathan, responding to His Majestyʼs summons took absolute precedence. No matter the circumstances, nothing held greater importance to him. ”Hence, I had no choice but to delegate authority. Hence, Subdivisions were born.”

”How many Subdivisions are out there?” ”Right now, there is one for catching spies and one for gathering information from other Kingdoms and Empires around the Six Continents.” ”So they are spies from our Empire?” Nathan nodded his head. ”There is One for only Assassinating enemies of the Empire from within and outside. There is one Subdivision that is accountable for extracting information from criminals and spies through torture and coercion.” ”So there are about 4 Subdivisions in the Shadow Guardian?” Nathan nodded his head. ”Recently, I have been thinking of adding another Subdivision.” Hearing this, even his subordinates were surprised. ”For example?” ”For example, In the future, there definitely will be a Counter-Propaganda Subdivision.” ”Counter-Propaganda Subdivison?” Dave and the others looked at each other. They were very familiar with propaganda. But it was surprising to hear that their Captain had such plans in his mind. ”The purpose of this Subdivision would be to Identify and dismantle misinformation campaigns or false narratives spread by rival empires to destabilize the Istarin Empire.” ”The members of this division will Spread pro-Istarin propaganda within and outside the Empire to bolster its reputation and demoralize enemies. To be honest, doing this would be very easy since the Istarin Empire has a very positive reputation, so the main aim of this Subdivision would be to eliminate the foreign party who is intentionally ruining our Empireʼs reputation.”

”I brought this topic to His Majesty. We had a long discussion.” ”His Majesty suggested using qualified individuals from other Divisions as well.” After all, the Shadow Guardian was already stretched thin despite being smaller compared to other Divisions. It was very difficult to find recruits with the right Aptitude, skills, and talent to be an assassin. There are also times when a recruit might not be suited for the darkness, even if the recruit has the right talent, skills, and Aptitude. So, overall, finding the right recruits for the Shadow Guardian Division is way tougher compared to other Divisions. Despite having four Subdivisions, the Shadow Guardianʼs core value remained the same: Every member must undergo strict training to become an Assassin. But the fifth Subdivision will be different. Instead of further stretching the Shadow Guardian numbers too thin, bringing the right and qualified people for this subdivision from other divisions was a healthier and more long-term approach. Hearing everything, Leo had a few questions in his mind. At the same time, he was also deeply amazed by Nathan. He had always thought that the Shadow Guardianʼs role was minimal, but now he knew just how important the Shadow Guardian was to the Istarin Empire.

”Nathan, wonʼt you feel tired doing all of this?” Looking after five Subdivisions at once will be really tough. ”I am used to it.” ”Besides, The Heads of each Subdivision make everything easier for me.” ”Alright! Enough talking! Letʼs deal with these spies.” The spies who were kneeling on the ground trembled at the sight of Nathan walking toward them. ”Leo, you better pay attention. I am not doing this again.” Nathan now has a better idea of what to teach Leo. After this, he is going to send Leo to be with the heads of each subdivision so that he can learn from them. Once he has learned enough, he will learn some core valuable things from Nathan. ••

Scene Change_____

”Alright! Alright!” ”Letʼs stop for today.” After spending three hours with the girls, Aditya finally stopped them It was extremely difficult to resist the temptation of doing it with two Succubi Empresses. But he cannot just waste his entire day having sex with them. Excessive amounts of anything are detrimental. ”But why?” Lilith pouted. She wasnʼt happy. Lying on his chest, her right index finger drew circles around his chest. As for Sasha, she was too busy in her own world to care about the conversation between Lilith and Aditya. She was busy sucking his staff. ”We are going do it again tonight.” He knew in his mind that he had no choice but to spend another full night exercising with the girls. And this night, aside from Lilith and Sasha, the other girls are going to join him in this amazing adventure. ”Alright!” Knowing that she would be doing it with him just a few hours later, Lilith reluctantly stopped.

After kissing his lips, she stood up.

Aditya looked at her beautiful back as she began walking towards the bathroom for a quick shower. To him, every part of her body was really beautiful. Her whole body was sticky with fluids. It wouldnʼt be a good idea to go out like this. Before stepping into the shower, she stopped and asked. ”Did you see Amelia around the Dragon Palace?” ”Not really! I heard that she went back to the Celestial Terrain last night.” ”Aditya, have you noticed this?” She turned around and asked in a serious tone. ”Exactly what are you talking about?”

”Amelia!” ”These days, she is behaving strangely. Itʼs not the Amelia that we know.” Now that Lilith brought up this topic, Aditya also felt this change within Amelia. ”Before I left to find Rin, I also noticed that something was wrong.”

Lilith looked at Aditya for a few seconds before she turned around and walked into the bathroom. Aditya felt that Lilith might have seen something he didnʼt. ʼI will ask her in our next meeting.ʼ
